    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 26 siswa (72,22%) belum menerapkan 10 jarinya dalam mengetik naskah dan 22 siswa (61,11%) kelas X AP 1 hasil belajarnya masih rendah. Upaya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran mengetik manual, yaitu dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan media audio musik dalam pembelajarannya. �Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X AP 1 SMK Bakti Purwokerto Kabupaten Banyumas yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Rancangan penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus, setiap siklus meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh aktivitas belajar siswa pada siklus I termasuk dalam kategori tinggi dengan persentase 65,02% (23 siswa) dan pada siklus II sebesar 81,42% (29 siswa) dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Kemampuan siswa menerapkan sistem 10 jari buta dalam mengetik pada observasi awal sebesar 27,78% (10 siswa), pada siklus I sebesar 50% (18 siswa), dan 77,78% (28 siswa) pada siklus II. Ketuntasan klasikal ketepatan siswa dalam mengetik naskah pada observasi awal sebesar 83,33% (30 siswa), pada siklus I sebesar 63,89% (23 siswa), dan 80,56% (29 siswa) pada siklus II. Ketuntasan klasikal kecepatan siswa dalam mengetik naskah pada observasi awal sebesar 61,11% (22 siswa) meningkat 38,89% menjadi 100% (36 siswa) pada siklus I dan II. Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ The problem found during the research are that 26 students (72,22%) have not applied 10 fingers yet in typing the documents and 22 students (61,11%) of the X AP 1 students still have low scores. To improve the students� result in the learning of manual typing, an action research by using musical audio as the media in teaching and learning procedure was conducted. The subject of the study is the students of X AP 1 SMK Bakti Purwokerto of Banyumas Regency which consist of 36 students. The design of this study is an action research class with two cycles, each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection. From the result of research, it can be said that the result of students� activities for cycle 1 is categorized as high with a percentage of 65,02% (23 students). Next, the percentage of cycle 2 is 81,42% (29 students) and it is still also categorized as very high. The students skill in applying the system of 10 blind typing in the initial observation is 27,78% (10 students), in cycle 1 is 50% (18 students), and 77,78% (28 students) in the cycle 2. The completeness for classical accuracy of the students in typing the documents in the initial observasition is 83,33% (30 students); then in cycle 1 is 63,89% (23 students); and 80,56% (29 students) for cycle 2. The classical completeness speed of students in typing the documents in the initial observation is 61,11% (22 students). Then, it improves as much as 38,89% cycle 1, and 100% (36 students) for cycle 2

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

    Efektivitas kerja karyawan merupakan faktor krusial dalam mendukung kesuksesan perusahaan manufaktur, khususnya pada industri padat karya yang sangat bergantung pada kualitas SDM. PT. Hamsina Jaya Brebes sebagai perusahaan manufaktur menghadapi tantangan berupa fluktuasi efektivitas kerja karyawan bagian produksi yang memperlihatkan ketidakkonsistenan kinerja antarbagian dan periode produksi. Kondisi ini mengindikasikan bahwa efektivitas kerja tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh aspek teknis, tetapi juga oleh faktor psikologis, sosial, dan manajerial. Penelitian ini bermaksud menganalisis pengaruh motivasi intrinsik, lingkungan kerja non fisik, dan pengawasan kerja pada efektivitas kerja karyawan bagian produksi PT. Hamsina Jaya Brebes, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Pendekatan kuantitatif berbasis metode kausal diplih untuk metode penelitian ini. Sampel riset terdiri atas 86 karyawan yang dipilih mempergunakan formula Slovin. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang sudah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas, dianalisis mempergunakan regresi linier berganda berbantuan SPSS. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa motivasi intrinsik, lingkungan kerja non fisik, serta pengawasan kerja berpengaruh positif signifikan pada efektivitas kerja karyawan, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Nilai Adjusted R Square sejumlah 0,698 mengindikasikan 69,8% variasi efektivitas kerja dapat dijelaskan oleh ketiga variabel tersebut. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pengelolaan motivasi internal, hubungan kerja yang kondusif, serta pengawasan kerja yang efektif dalam meningkatkan efektivitas kerja karyawan bagian produksi.     PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN VOLUME KUKUSAN YANG BERBEDA TERHADAP KUALITAS BOLU GULUNG

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan volume kukusan yang berbeda terhadap kualitas bolu gulung. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Pengolahan Roti dan Kue Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Boga, Universitas Negeri Jakarta pada bulan Agustus 2016 hingga Februari 2017. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah bolu gulung dengan penggunaan volume volume kukusan kecil, sedang dan besar, kemudian diujikan kepada panelis untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pada penggunaan volume kukusan yang berbeda terhadap kualitas bolu gulung. Hasil perlakuan kemudian dinilai berdasarkan aspek warna, aroma, rasa dan tekstur dengan menggunakan uji organoleptik kepada 45 panelis. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, hasil pengujian dari bolu gulung dengan penggunaan volume kukusan kecil menunjukkan nilai rata–rata tertinggi dalam aspek warna 4,67 dengan kategori kuning muda. Aspek aroma dari bolu gulung dengan penggunaan volume kukusan besar menunjukkan nilai rata–rata tertinggi yaitu sebesar 4,27 dengan kategori tidak beraroma telur. Sedangkan pada aspek rasa dari bolu gulung dengan penggunaan volume kukusan besar menunjukkan nilai rata–rata tertinggi dengan nilai rata–rata 4,20 pada kategori manis dan untuk aspek tekstur dari bolu gulung dengan penggunaan volume kukusan besar menunjukkan nilai rata–rata tertinggi sebesar 4,53 dengan kategori lembut. Hasil uji organoleptik dianalisis menggunakan uji kruskal wallis dengan taraf signifakasi α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji kruskal wallis pada aspek tekstur menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh penggunaan volume kukusan yang berbeda terhadap kualitas bolu gulung. Sedangkan pada aspek warna, aroma dan rasa menunjukkan tidak terdapat pengaruh penggunaan volume kukusan yang berbeda terhadap kualitas bolu gulung. This research aimed to analyze and study the effect of different volumes of the steamer on the quality of cake rolls. This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Food Production, Food and Nutrition Program, State University of Jakarta from August 2016 to February 2016. Samples in this study is the use of rolls with different volumes of the steamer, the steamer small volume, volume and volume steamer steamer was great, and then tested on panelists to determine whether there is an influence on the use of the steamer different volume to quality rolls. The results of treatment and then were evaluated based on color, aroma, flavor and texture by using the organoleptic test to the 45 panelists. Based on descriptive analysis, the results of testing of the rolls with the use of a small steamer volume shows the value average highs in the 4.67 aspect of color with light yellow category. Aspects aroma of sweet rolls with the use of a large steamer volume shows the average value - the highest average of 4.27 with no category flavorful eggs. While the taste aspects of the rolls with the use of a large steamer volume shows value average highest value - average 4.20 on the category of sweet and to aspects of the texture of the rolls with the use of a large steamer volume shows value average high of 4, 53 with a soft category. Organoleptic test results were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis test with signifakasi level α = 0.05. The results based on hypothesis test using Kruskal Wallis test on aspects of texture indicates there is the effect of using different steaming volume to quality cake rolls. While the aspect of color, aroma and flavor showed no effect of using different steaming volume of quality cake rolls
