    ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF ERGONOMIC WORK POSTURE IN CUTTING PART IN PT XYZ USING REBA METHOD

    Human activity requires a tool that is designed or specifically designed to help work to be easier, safer and more comfortable, the right design can be obtained by applying anthropometry. Workers often experience complaints of pain in some parts of the body because work facilities are not ergonomic. The research objective is to obtain an ergonomic design of work facilities in accordance with anthropometry. Data collection is done by interviews, distributing questionnaires and taking data on the object of research. The results of data collection were tested for uniformity, adequacy, and normality, as well as calculating percentiles that were considered to represent the measured data. SNQ results indicate that workers are in the very painful category in the right upper arm, waist, right ankle, left ankle, left knee, right knee, left calf, right calf, left foot and right foot, which shows the working posture at the cutting station not ergonomic. The assessment of the level of work posture using the REBA method shows a high risk level of 7-9 meaning that workers need immediate improvement in the near future. The average workload with the 42% CVL method is in the category of improvement needed. The proposed work facility design is based on anthropometric principles, namely a work desk measuring 171.75 cm x 78.5 cm x 70.45 cm, a work chair 46.99cm x 31.67 cm x 45.25 cm, a storage box of 50 cm length and width 55 cm and trolley 76.58 cm x 60 cm x 77.07 cm

      SMEs in Indonesia face significant challenges in optimizing their production due to limited resources, particularly in terms of time and labor. This study proposes the application of the Modified Wolfe Simplex Method to optimize the production of two main fashion products—shirts and trousers—within a clothing SME. The method employs principles of linear programming, Lagrangian functions, and Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) optimality conditions to identify efficient and strategic solutions. The main objective of this research is to determine the optimal production combination to maximize profit under time constraints in cutting and sewing processes. Production data were analyzed using an iterative Simplex approach, enhanced by Wolfe’s modification to explore system sensitivity to changes in resource availability. The results show that the optimal production consists of 8 shirts and 12 trousers, yielding a maximum profit of IDR 1,440,000. The Lagrange multipliers λ₁ = 8/19 and λ₂ = 18/19 indicate the potential for additional profit if work capacity is increased by one unit in each process. The shadow prices of the constraints further suggest opportunities for increased profitability through capacity expansion. This study concludes that the method is effective in supporting data-driven production decision-making. Future research is recommended to accommodate more variables and integrate digital systems for continuous optimization. Penelitian ini mengusulkan penerapan Metode Simpleks Modifikasi Wolfe untuk mengoptimalkan produksi dua produk utama, yaitu baju dan celana, pada sebuah UMKM fashion. Metode ini memanfaatkan prinsip pemrograman linier, fungsi Lagrangian, dan kondisi optimalitas Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) untuk menemukan solusi yang efisien dan strategis. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah menentukan kombinasi produksi optimal guna memaksimalkan keuntungan dengan mempertimbangkan batasan waktu pemotongan dan penjahitan. Data produksi dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan iteratif metode Simpleks, dilengkapi dengan modifikasi Wolfe untuk mendalami sensitivitas sistem terhadap perubahan sumber daya. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa produksi optimal adalah 8 unit baju dan 12 unit celana, dengan keuntungan maksimum sebesar Rp1.440.000. Nilai Lagrange multiplier λ₁ = 8/19 dan λ₂ = 18/19 merepresentasikan potensi keuntungan tambahan jika kapasitas kerja ditambah satu unit pada masing-masing proses. Nilai shadow price dari kendala menunjukkan peluang peningkatan keuntungan bila kapasitas kerja ditambah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode ini efektif dalam mendukung pengambilan keputusan produksi berbasis data.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
