It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Kendisi gerek şarkılarıyla gerekse de politik duruşuyla, hem bir kesimin sevgisini kazanırken aynı zamanda da bazı kesimlerin ciddi tepkileri ile karşılaşmıştır. Bu tepkiler sonucunda sık sık televizyonda yasaklanmış, albümleri toplatılmış, yurt dışına seyahat etmesi engellenmiştir. Bu araştırmada Selda Bağcan’ın hayatının yanı sıra 1970-1990 yılları arasındaki toplumsal yapıdan da bahsedilmiştir.In our country where singing has been traditionally seen as a job only for men, Selda Bağcan is one of the most successful artist who has a very long-lasting career. While she gained the love of some people with her strong personality and songs, she also received negative reaction from other people at the same time. As a result of this she is often banned from TV, her records have been collected and her passport was seized. No full textThe current status of activities and experience gained and the basic features of the SELDA system are explained in connection with the task of giving proof of the reliable functioning of systems for safe stopping of hoisting equipment running at undue speed. The results available are used to establish the design principles and data for a shaft hoisting equipment for a payload of 85 t. The system designed according to preliminary test results for ascertaining the required stopping power and its behaviour in the project tests is described, as well as the planned test performance, and the results and their evaluation. The stopping tests with the SELDA system, accompanying materials studies for improvement of the SELDA conveying belts, and further tests investigating the dependence of stopping power on a variety of parameters is reported along with results on the applicability of test results in a design study. (orig./HP)Zum Nachweis der Funktionsfaehigkeit von Systemen zum sicheren Abbremsen uebertreibender Foerdermittel werden der Stand der bisherigen Erfahrungen und die Grundlagen des SELDA-Prinzipes dargestellt. Aus diesen Daten wird die Auslegung fuer eine Schachtfoerderanlage mit 85 t Nutzlast abgeleitet. Ausgehend von der Auslegung der Systeme fuer 85 t Nutzlast und Vorversuchen zur Bestimmung der Bremskraft wird das System beschrieben, das im Versuchsstand zur ''Simulation der Schachtfoerderung'' eingesetzt und erprobt wurde. Anschliessend erfolgt eine Darstellung der Versuche sowie die Auswertung und Diskussion der Ergebnisse. Aus den Abbremsversuchen mit dem SELDA-System, ergaenzenden Werkstoffuntersuchungen der SELDA-Baender und weiterfuehrenden Versuchen zur Abhaengigkeit der Bremskraft von verschiedenen Parametern wird die Uebertragbarkeit der Versuchsergebnisse auf eine zu realisierende Anlage betrachtet. No full textSelda is a 20-minute drama feature about a 30-year-old abortionists who believes that her profession, which she considers as God\u27s calling, enables her to help women form their unwanted pregnancies. After being charged with the death of a young girl, Selda evades the accusation and continues her job amid the watchful eye of the police. Due to her husband\u27s prodding, she decides to lay low for a while but if offered by her regular customer another job, which she finds hard to refuse. She accepts it with the condition that this will be her last. Unfortunately, she gets caught by the police and learns that her belief cannot contest the law
An investigation of healthy aging among older adults in nursing homes: A cross-sectional study
No full textAim This cross-sectional study examined healthy ageing and associated factors among 249 older adults aged 65 years and above residing in nursing homes in Istanbul, T & uuml;rkiye. Methods Data were collected using the "Personal Information Form," "Standardized Mini-Mental State Examination," "Katz Daily Life Activity Index," "Mini Nutritional Assessment Short Form," "Satisfaction with Life Scale," and "Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly." Analyses included chi-square tests, independent t-tests, and logistic regression. Results Results showed a healthy ageing rate of 38.5 %. Significant predictors included cardiovascular diseases, fear of falling, number of medications, and life satisfaction. Cardiovascular diseases decreased healthy ageing odds by 3.015 times, while fear of falling reduced them by 0.516 times. Conversely, higher life satisfaction increased healthy ageing by 0.886 times. Conclusions.Only 4 out of 10 elderly met the criteria for healthy ageing. Interventions should focus on promoting physical activity, psychological and social support, chronic disease management, and personalized care to enhance healthy ageing among older adults in T & uuml;rkiye.
