No entanto, comparando-se os sistemas carbonílicos com os iminicos, observa-se que existem poucos estudos sobre a reatividade dos compostos iminicos. Investigou-se no presente trabalho reações de adição de um composto apresentando um grupo metilênico ativo a Bases de Schiff. O composto com metilênico ativo utilizado foi o ácido de Meldrum, que se destaca pela sua versatilidade em síntese orgânica. Foram preparadas Bases de Schiff aromáticas substituídas nas partes benzal e anilínica da molécula, sendo estes compostos utilizados nas reações de adição envolvendo o ácido de Meldrum. O produto obtido da reação de adição do ácido de Meldrum a N-benzilidenanilina foi submetido a reação de metanólise descarboxilativa. Todos os compostos obtidos foram caracterizados por técnicas espectroscópicas de IV, RMN de l H e quando necessário por análise elementar (CHN)

'Translated for children by Milo and Ana Winter' at the bottom of the title page. Laid paper. The body of the twelve fables are written out most expertly in long hand by Mr. Schiff in black pen, with just the first two words of each in brown pen, then the moral is written out in brown pen below. Green wrappers covered in a cellophane material Greek key design along the top of the title page and text in brown pen and along the top of the cover in black pen. Fables are untitled. Fine condition. The fables include CJ, The Toad and the Fox, A Boy and a Nettle, The Crab and the Fox, The Goat and the Goatherd, The Dogs and the Lion's Skin, The Lion and the Ass, The Wolf and the Roasted Lamb, DM, The Kid and the Wolf, The Wolf and the Fox, and The Stag and the Lion. There are seven lovely pen drawings in black. The colophon includes a corrected error. Schiff wrote The forgoing fables were transcribed by Richard Schiff at the Cooper Union -- February, 1951. He then corrected to foregoing. Milo Winter's The Aesop for Children appeared in 1919. Winter died in 1956. Might he have been a faculty member at the Cooper Union in 1951 and Schiff have been a student who created this work in his honor or as a course requirement? The texts make curious use of the versions in Winter's edition, sometimes using them verbatim, sometimes shortening, and sometimes apparently bypassing them completely. Is the mouse on the title-page and the cover nibbling on a string of letters of the alphabet? This collection is the perfect home for this work!Hand-madeTranslated for Children by Milo and Ana Winte

Get PDFDissertação (Mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Ciências Físicas e Matemáticas.A reação de hidrólise das bases de Schiff N-benzildenoanilina, 4-metóxi-N-benzilidenoanilina, 2-metóxi-N-benzilidenoanilina e 2-(2-etoxi)etóxi-N-benzilidenoanilina foi estudada a 25oC, na presença de sais de metais alcalinos e alcalino-terrosos em diversas concentrações. A força iônica foi mantida constante no meio etanólico aquoso (88%) através da adição de tetrafluoroborato de tetrabutilamônio. Os resultados foram explicados em termos de três fatores: a) o efeito inibitório da complexação do íon metálico com o átomo ligado ao anel; b) o efeito provocado pela associação do cátion com o átomo de nitrogênio imínico; c) o efeito templato, envolvendo a associação do íon metálico com os átomos de oxigênio da cadeia lateral

Okt. 1995 das Schleswig-Holsteinische Institut für Friedenswissenschaften (SCHIFF) errichtet. Im Herbst 2000 wurde das Institut also fünf Jahre alt. Aus diesem Anlass fand am 17. Oktober 2000 eine Festveranstaltung '10 Jahre Ostseekooperation - 5 Jahre SCHIFF' statt. Das Thema verweist auf die Tatsache, dass der zentrale Bezugspunkt der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit
des SCHIFF, die Ostseezusammenarbeit, grob gesprochen doppelt so alt ist, wie das Institut selber. Bei der Jubiläumsveranstaltung handelte es sich um die 18. Folge des SCHIFF-Kolloquiums 'Kooperation und Konflikt in der Ostseeregion'. Im Mittelpunkt standen die beiden im folgenden dokumentierten Vorträge, die beide auf ihre Weise Ostseezusammenarbeit bilanzieren: Heinz-Werner Arens, Präsident des Schleswig-Holsteinischen Landtags und Vorsitzender des Standing Committee

No full textThis collection documents the professional and personal lives of John (Hans) and Trude Schiff, with emphasis on John Schiff's career as a professional photographer. Although the greater part of the collection focuses on his photography, the collection additionally holds papers pertaining to the Schiffs' immigration, legal and financial papers pertaining to restitution from Germany, documentation of Trude Schiff's early medical career, and personal correspondence and photographs. Aside from the preponderance of photographs, the collection holds letters, address books, exhibit catalogs, and official documents, and a few clippings.Hans Schiff was born on November 7, 1907 in Cologne. After finishing high school and an apprenticeship he started working for his father's company, Schiff und Comp., which produced printed advertisements. In September 1938 he married Dr. Trude Löwenstein, a physician. He worked for his father as a traveling salesman until November 1938, when he was no longer allowed to work in this profession due to Germany’s racial laws. In 1933 he started learning about photography with occupational retraining in mind and took photos for several Jewish organizations. In July 1939 he and his wife left Germany for England, where they had to wait for their immigration visas to the United States. They came to the U.S. in March 1940. After working in a photofinishing plant for a few months he started working as a freelance commercial photographer and worked on location for art dealers and artists. He specialized in the reproduction of art work. He died in September 1976 in New York.Trude Joan Schiff née Löwenstein, was born on May 28, 1907. She was the daughter of Adolf and Johanna Löwenstein. Trude studied medicine from 1926-1931 in Bonn, Innsbruck, Vienna and Cologne, where she obtained her medical degree in 1931. From July 1, 1931 until February 1, 1932 she was an intern at the Medical University Clinic Cologne-Lindenburg. Immediately afterwards she entered the Medical University Policlinic in Frankfurt am Main where she worked as an resident and later became assistant doctor. In April 1933, she had to leave the position due to being Jewish. In June 1933 she began working in the surgical department of the Jewish Hospital in Cologne ("Israelitisches Asyl") until she and her husband immigrated to England in the beginning of July 1939. In April 1940 Trude Schiff passed the English examination given by State University of New York at Albany, and in December of the same year she passed the licensing examination from the same institution so she could continue practicing her profession. She worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, among other institutions.digitizededite
