    Infrared Optoacoustic Spectroscopy Of 13cd3od Around 9p Co2 Laser Lines

    In this work we present the results of an investigation about Doppler limited infrared absorbing transitions of the in-plane methyl-rocking and the asymmetric methyl deformation modes of 13CD3OD by means of optoacoustic detection. This is an alternative and attractive technique to be applied to this methanol isotopromer, in comparison to Fourier transform spectroscopy. In fact the contamination problem associated with the fast exchange of OD by OH in the molecule limits the use of the Fourier transform technique. Using a waveguide CO2 laser of 290 MHz tunability on each line we were able to observe 20 IR absorptions, most of them of large offset.     We have used Fourier Transform spectral data on the C-O stretching mode of 13CD3OD in order to perform a vibro-rotational analysis for this molecule. We have estimated a few molecular parameters of the ground and C-O stretching vibrational modes.     Large Offset Far Infrared Laser Lines Generation From The C-o Stretching Q-branch Of 13cd3od

    Using for the first time a waveguide CO2 laser of wide tunability to pump 13CD3OD we could observe 10 new far infrared laser lines ranging from 109 μm to 472 μm. The lines were generated by pumping infrared absorbing transitions of large offset appertaining to the C-O stretching Q-branch.     A waveguide CO2 laser of wide tunability was used to pump infrared transitions of the 13CD3OD C-O stretching vibrational mode.     Formic acid and its isotopic species are important molecules for which several theoretical and experimental spectroscopic studies were performed. The rotational spectra of the fundamental vibrational modes of these molecules were reported, as well as the infrared spectra of the main monomer and its deuterium derivatives. On the other hand there are almost no available infrared data for the 13C species. In this work we present the gas phase Fourier transform (FT) spectra of H12COOH and H13COOH in the 450 cm-1 to 5000 cm-1 region, The spectra were obtained using a Bomem DA-8 spectrometer at 3.0 cm-1, 0.1 cm-1, and 0.03 cm-1 resolution.     In this paper, we report new optically pumped far-infrared (FIR) laser lines from the in-plane CD3-rocking and asymmetric CD3 deformation absorption vibrational bands of 13CD3OD. A waveguide CO2 laser of wide tunability (290 MHz) was used as the pump source, and a Fabry-Perot open cavity as the FIR laser resonator. Optoacoustic absorption spectrum was used as a guide to search for new FIR laser lines. We could observe 14 new laser lines in the range 103-491 μm. The lines were characterized according to wavelength, relative polarization, relative intensity, and optimum working pressure.     Saturation Measurements Of The A 3p0-y 3do 1 Ti I Transition By Optogalvanic Spectroscopy

    The optogalvanic signal (OGS) induced in a Ti-Ar hollow-cathode discharge, stimulated by modulated cw laser light tuned to the a 3P0-y 3Do 1 Ti I transition, was measured as a function of the light intensity. By solving analytically the rate equations of a three-level system, which include the Ti I ground state, the lower metastable a 3P0 and the upper y 3Do 1 levels, an expression was obtained that relates the magnitude of the OGS to the laser intensity and the saturation parameter (1/σ0τ). The σ0τ product was determined by fitting the theoretical curve to the experimental data. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
