No full textQuesto libro intende fornire a chi voglia avviarsi verso lo studio e la ricerca in ambito patrimoniale una base lessicale e semantica per iniziare a comprendere gli scenari contemporanei a partire dal complesso dibattito aperto con gli strumenti normativi (convenzioni UNESCO in primis) che hanno segnato la storia dei concetti di tangible e intangible cultural heritage. D’altro canto, attraverso la riflessione su specifiche costruzioni e gestioni di oggetti e situazioni patrimoniali, fornisce esempi di come il dibattito scientifico e legislativo incida sulle concrete dinamiche dei patrimoni “in azione”.
Il patrimonio non solo è apparato oggettuale, fisicità, ma anche complesso di conoscenze, manualità, tecniche, arti e tradizioni, saperi, concezioni del mondo, politiche. È connesso ai meccanismi di produzione delle eteroclite identità e delle rispettive forme di autorappresentazione di ogni gruppo sociale. No full textIn questo articolo intendo esplorare, in chiave storica, la relazione fra diritti umani e antropologia. Si tratta di un rapporto complesso e contrastato e cercherò pertanto di gettare luce sulle ragioni delle convergenze e dei dissidi. Dopo aver tracciato la genealogia dei diritti umani, mi soffermerò sui decenni successivi alla seconda guerra mondiale in cui si sono succedute diverse stagioni dei diritti umani. L’approccio relativista e culturalista dell’antropologia americana del secondo dopo guerra fece sì che gli antropologi nutrissero non poche diffidenze nei confronti della nascente struttura dei diritti umani promossa dalle Nazioni Unite. Tuttavia, successivamente, in seno al movimento dell’Indigenismo, vi fu un evidente avvicinamento. Oggigiorno, però, emergono nuovi dubbi e nuove critiche da parte degli antropologi sul modo in cui i diritti umani vengono implementati. Guerre umanitarie, ingerenza umanitaria, esportazione della democrazia e imposizione dei diritti: queste nuove categorie dell’azione politica mostrano, infatti, come i diritti umani siano divenuti nella contemporaneità uno strumento ambiguo, che legittima sia le relazioni di dominio e coercizione sia l’opposizione a esse da parte dei gruppi oppressi

Processing-Properties Correlation for a Rubber Toughened Wood Plastic Composite
No full textIssues of environmental sustainability attract more and more attention to polymeric systems that can be considered environmentally friendly. A class of materials that meets the demand for a lower environmental impact are Wood Polymer Composites, or WPCs. These are thermoplastic polymers compounded with wood fibers or flour, usually coming from industrial or agricultural waste. With these materials, the greatest benefit is obtained by increasing the wood content, thus reducing the percentage of polymeric matrix. On the other hand, two of the main drawbacks coming from an increase in the wood content are brittleness and a significant reduction in processability. In this work, concentration will be on reducing brittleness by adding different amounts of a toughening agent (i.e., a thermoplastic elastomer) and on finding the optimal combination between processing conditions and elastomer content. This target will be obtained by comparing the tensile properties of all composites that are produced with different extrusion conditions with their apparent density
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
