In addition to examining art, she reflects on the intellectual, economical and political context of Transylvania in the 15th and the 16th centuries
The language learning experiences of students with dyslexia: lessons from an interview study.
Full text linkOur interview study investigated what experiences Hungarian students with dyslexia have in the language learning group and concerning the general behavior, the instructional methods and assessment techniques of their language teachers. Long qualitative interviews were conducted with 15 students of different ages who studied foreign languages in a variety of educational settings. Our results indicate that the participants generally had negative experiences when studying in groups, especially if the number of students in the group was high, but they enjoyed when they received special attention and the rate of progress was adjusted to their needs. Students with dyslexia were found to be highly appreciative of clear and well-structured explanations and frequent revision opportunities. The students' views confirm the high importance of applying motivational teaching strategies in teaching foreign languages to students with dyslexia and the existence of an indirect link between teachers' attitude to dyslexia, teacher behavior, and language learning effort
A sarkadi vár késő középkori lovas kályhacsempéje
Full text linkA mindeddig kevéssé kutatott középkori sarkadi vár területéről – többek között – két igen érdekes tárgy, egy-egy 16. századi kályhacsempe-töredék is előkerült. Az egyik még 1900-ban jutott a Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum, a másik pedig 1974-ben a Békés megyei Munkácsy Mihály Múzeum gyűjteményébe. A két töredék motívumai kiegészítik egymást: az egyiken a lovas, a másikon a ló alakja maradt meg, a különböző időben különböző múzeumokba jutó darabok alapján pedig csaknem teljesen megrajzolható a kályhacsempe formája, díszítése és ábrázolása. A tárgyak külön érdekessége, hogy nemcsak a sarkadi vár területéhez, hanem ugyanahhoz a késő középkorban a várban használt kályhához köthetők. A tüzetes vizsgálat nyomán a kerámia-darabok így együtt elevenítik fel az egykori mezőváros csaknem elfelejtett erősségének történetét, és segítenek elképzelni a várbeli mindennapok életének művészi megjelenését
