    No full text

Le teresiane in Italia: istituzioni, vite visssute, autorappresentazioni.

    No full text

Journalists at a crossroad: Are traditional norms and practices challenged by Twitter?

    No full text
This article aims to identify the hybridization that journalists have created to reconcile the pressures arising from the affirmation of the culture of participation and sharing of social media with the traditional norms and practices that are the basis of the journalistic identity. This study analyses the behavior of 1202 Italian journalists on Twitter between 1 January and 29 February 2016, focusing on the interpretation of the transparency norm, the gatekeeping function, and audience engagement. These are norms and practices that are both old and new and that allow us to understand the adaptations journalists make in order to respond to the technological transformations that have affected existing models of journalism and the degree of professionalization of journalists themselves. Through the analysis of the 23,515 tweets published by journalists of different media outlets (newspapers, wire services, TV news, and only-online media), this study has allowed to empirically test the existence of a general adoption of Twitter by Italian journalists, characterized by a ‘hybrid normalization’, that is, a combination of old practices with new modalities with the dual aim of sharing the culture of social media and legitimizing the professional position of journalism. This article aims to identify the hybridization that journalists have created to reconcile the pressures arising from the affirmation of the culture of participation and sharing of social media with the traditional norms and practices that are the basis of the journalistic identity. I giornalisti politici su Twitter"

Several researchers have investigated journalists' use of Twitter as a part of everyday routines within traditional journalistic norms. However, in Italy, there is no empirical data on journalists' behavior within the platform. In the Italian context, where a pluralist-polarized model associated with a low level of professionalism prevails, the use of Twitter could be an occasion for political journalists to distinguish themselves from the idea of a high level of political parallelism by revealing how information was obtained, and engaging with the audience. Assuming the framework of normalization thesis, this paper analyses the behavior of 201 Italian political journalists of 28 different news media outlets (newspapers, wire services, TV-news bulletins, only-online media) on Twitter, focusing on the interpretation of the gatekeeping function - through the analysis of retweets and links - and the relationships created within the platform - through the analysis of the interactions (@replies and @mentions) and the followings. The analysis of data confirms that the normalization thesis is applicable, even in Italy, with more radical characteristics in respect to the Anglo Saxon context, contradicting data that emerged from the most recent studies that, to the contrary, proposed a partial revision

LA FAGLIA DEL SIMBOLICO. FREQUENTARE IL REALE IN LACAN, DELEUZE E DERRIDA

    No full text
The dissertation investigates the development the most important contributions of Jacques Lacan to the field of philosophy and psychoanalysis. In particular, it focuses on the law of the signifier, namely, the role that language plays in the formation of the subject. The work also explores how Lacan’s insistence on the relationship between jouissance and the symbolic realm has an impact on the way he thinks about the formation of the subject and about the relationship between the Other, the symbolic, and the real. In order to understand real’s role in Lacan’s thought, the dissertation argues, it is necessary to consider the work of two important philosophers, Gilles Deleuze and Jacques Derrida, as they both show that subjectivity constitutes the unavoidable nexus between philosophy and psychoanalysis
