    This research aimed at improving critical thinking ability of the fourth  semester students in mechanics course of physics education at  Universitas Hamzanwadi. Method applied was  problem based learning through lesson study activity which covered open class four cycle. Media used was cut of papers contained  formula or mathematics equation which were called Cards of the formula, the cards were given in every open class activity. The data of critical thinking ability taken from critical thinking test administered by the end o, pices of f lecturing activity. Qualitative data taken from obseravtion result during the lecturing. From the activity, it was found that students’ critical ability in every element namely giving argument ability , formulating problem,  doing induction, and by doing deduction, average scores above 3 was got which were categorized into high and medium

    This research is aimed at finding out 1) the effect of debate and discussion on the students’ learning achievement; 2) the effect of high and low critical thinking ability on the students’ learning achievement; and 3) the interaction between the instructional method and the critical thinking ability on the students’ learning achievement. This research is quantitative administering experiment research. The population is the students of Informatics Education Study Program. The sample is the students who are taking ‘Etika Profesi (Profession Ethics)’ subject in the sixth semester. This grade consists of two classes: 6A and 6B. Based on the research and the data analysis, it is concluded that 1) there is effect on the students’ learning achievement -the students’ learning achievement taught through debating is higher than through discussion; 2) there is effect critical thinking ability on the students’ learning achievement -the students with high critical thinking ability gain higher learning achievement; 3) there is a significant interaction between the instructional method and the students’ critical thinking ability.

    This study aims to determine the increase in students' ability to analyze by applying modeling instruction and simulation media PhET. The research method used is a quasi experimental method with one group pretest posttest design. In this study, samples were taken as many as 33 people. The instrument used in the study was a multiple choice test. This test consists of 5 questions in the analyze category. Data analysis in this study used the Gain Normality Test. From the calculation results obtained an average value of N-gain of 0.7, it can be concluded that the application of modeling instruction and simulation media PhET can improve the ability to analyze students.DOI: 10.29408/kpj.v4i1.182

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Pengembangan Modul Fisika Berbasis Project Based Learning Berbantuan QR Code Terhadap Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis

    Pembelajaran energi terbarukan menuntut bahan ajar yang tidak hanya kontekstual tetapi juga mampu melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Namun, pengembangan modul fisika yang mengintegrasikan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) dan teknologi QR Code pada materi energi terbarukan masih sangat terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kelayakan serta kepraktisan modul fisika berbasis Project Based Learning berbantuan QR Code pada materi energi terbarukan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas tiga ahli materi, tiga ahli desain, tiga guru fisika, serta 25 peserta didik MA Mu’allimat NWDI Pancor. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket kelayakan dan kepraktisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan berada pada kategori sangat layak berdasarkan penilaian ahli desain (93,58%) dan ahli materi (91,30%), serta sangat praktis berdasarkan penilaian guru (90%) dan respon peserta didik (96,25%). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa modul fisika berbasis PjBL berbantuan QR Code berpotensi menjadi solusi bahan ajar inovatif untuk mendukung pembelajaran energi terbarukan dan penguatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik

    The presence of media in the learning process acts as a tool to prevent communication failures between teachers and students. This study aims to determine the effect of Annotated Illustration and PhET media on physics learning achievement on Dynamic Electricity material. The research method used in this study is a quantitative research method. While the type of research is experimental research. In this study, the PhET media was applied to the experimental class, while the Annotated Illustrations media was applied to the control class. The calculation results obtained = 3.836 and = 2.056 at a significant level of 5% and dk = 1 + 2. Therefore > , so that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected or the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which means that there is a difference in the effect of Annotated Illustrations and PhET on physics learning achievement on Dynamic Electricity material

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
