Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Ex-situ Conservation of Thorny Bamboo (Bambusa blumeana J.A. & J.H. Schultes) in Bamboo Arboretum of Darmaga Campus.
Thorny bamboo has been settled as one of 12 rare bamboo species that was been established as priority indicator in Indonesia. Thorny bamboo is conservational plant because of its ecological function and its function as buffer for hydrological system. Bamboo Arboretum of Darmaga Campus has a collection of thorny bamboo. The objectives of this research were to identify damage of the bamboo clump, to identify cause of factor damaged clump thorny bamboo and also to formulate the ex-situ conservation effort that suitable to conserve thorny bamboo. This research was supposed to provide information about morphology and existence of thorny bamboo in Bamboo Arboretum of Darmaga Campus and also conservation of thorny bamboo, especially in ex-situ conservation programme, thus conservation effort of thorny bamboo could be increased. This research was carried out at Bamboo Arboretum of Darmaga Campus for one month, from November to December 2011. Collected data was including primary and secondary data. Primary data was consisted of characteristic of thorny bamboo, total of grove, bamboo groves condition (reed and shoot) and exsitu conservation programme. Secondary data was obtained from literature study that including physical condition of research location, morphology of thorny bamboo, growth characteristic of thorny bamboo and conservation programme to reduce the damage of thorny bamboo. Data was analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. This research of thorny bamboo in Bamboo Arboretum of Darmaga Campus was only one grove with the total number of reeds was 49 reeds, 20 are still alive (4 chicks) and 29 broken reed. This damage was caused by environmental factors (inter-specific competition, distance of grove and wind) and anthropogenic factor (lack of maintenance). Living young shoot was only one. The lack of young shoot growth could be caused by the lack of nutrients and the lack of intensive maintenance. Thus it needed an ex-situ conservation programme to cultivate thorny bamboo. Ex-situ conservation programme could be performed through vegetative reproduction (stem cutting and branch cutting), weed removing, installing of fence, production and installing of interpretation board and also tissue culture (in-vitro), watering, cleansing of weeds, fertilization and eradication of plant disease and pest. Conclusion of this research was the condition of thorny bamboo suffered damage caused by a variety of factors and to overcome those conditions as necessary conservation program.Bambu duri (Bambusa blumeana J.A. & J.H.
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Analisis Karakteristik Pelaku Kultur Jaringan Skala Rumah Tangga Sebagai Salah Satu Upaya konservasi.
The increasing market demand for ornamental and rare plants and the lack of attention to the gene plasma conservation of genetic resources led to the disappearance of large quantities especially for plants that are not yet clearly established or marketing as rare plants. Conventional preservation requires energy and more cost .technique of tissue culture is an alternative to storing gene plasma in the form of plant tissue or organ in the lab, so that the gene plasma preservation can be more efficient. Given the scale of tissue culture is expected to household financial needs of the community are met and can indirectly pressing either the theft of forest plants and rare plants and also the gene plasma conservation efforts. This study aims to (1) analyze the factors that significantly influence the business decision-scale tissue culture households to remain in business seen from the characteristics of these entrepreneurs, (2) Determine factors affecting business success rate scale tissue culture households .The study was conducted in February 2009-June 2009 in Plant Tissue Culture Lab, Department of Forest Resources Conservation, Faculty of Forestry, Bogor Agricultural University. Data derived from several respondents. Respondents who used to know the analysis of business characteristics scale tissue culture of households consisting of entrepreneurs who have tissue culture tissue culture training household scale. The number of sampled respondents is 80 people. Decision of 80 samples using purposive sample method due to time constraints, cost and difficulty of getting the respondents are still rare due to the scale tissue culture cultivation households. The data obtained were analyzed in the form of descriptive and quantitative. Qualitative analyzed data using logistic regression analysis. The results of logistic regression analysis by including the five unknown variables are the three free variables are real or significant impact on business decision-scale tissue culture households to remain in business network culture. These three variables are the variables of business a long time, income variable and education variable, the variables that does not have real impact on the decision to continue his efforts variable amount of age and gender. Logistic regression model was formed to describe the entrepreneur's decision-scale tissue culture households to remain in business is: -12.23 + 0.0416 Gender (P / L) - 0.0027 Age (Years) + 2.9097 last Education ( Senior High School / Senior Vocational School, Diploma, Bachelor) + 1.3656 duration efforts (Year) + 2.06 Income. Testing the feasibility of the model, can be seen the value of Log Likelihood -18,087, to produce statistics for 57,933 G and the value of p-value for 0000. The p-value smaller than α = 0.1, so it can be concluded there are at least βi ≠ 0 Log Likelihood value of -18,087 for the model can be said is good. Good test model can be seen also from the value of Somers' D, Goodman-Kruskal Gamma and Kendall's Tau-a is a summary table cocordant associations and discordant value 0-1. Component values explains that getting closer to the value of one (1 value), then the model is well said. The value obtained is Somers' D 0.92, Goodman-Kruskal Gamma 0.92 and Kendall's Tau-a 0:37. Based on these summary values between 0:37 to 0.92 which approaches the value one can say that the model predictions are well earned. Capital factor is not too significant when compared with that achieved human resources 59%. In addition, marketing is also influential in the tissue culture business in business terms that reached 30%
menyebaban reduksi pertumbuhan planlet Pule pandak.

One of solution to develop family’s medicinal plants is cultivating important medicinal plants. It is hopefully, the family’s medicinal plants will be used properly to maintain family’s and community’s health toward better quality of life
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
