The Institutionalisation of a Creative Practice: Changing Roles of Regional Design in Dutch National Planning

    No full text
This chapter discusses the organisational setting of regional design in the realms of spatial planning and territorial governance. As a starting point, it argues that rules on how imagined design solutions function in an abstract, simplified ‘planning world’ are an important regional design product. When focusing on these rules, regional design practice resembles discretionary action. As such, it aims to improve planning decisions by judging the implications of planning frameworks when applied to particular situations. This implies that the involvement of actors in design practice requires careful consideration. As in any form of legitimate rule-building, a critical distance between those who initiate practices and conduct design, and those who judge the quality and relevance of design outcomes is essential. On the basis of these considerations the chapter investigates regional design practices that occurred between the 1980s and 2010s in the context of Dutch national planning. It shows how they transformed from being a form of professional advocacy, criticising planning, into a practice that was pragmatically used to implement a national planning agenda. The chapter concludes by discussing this institutionalisation of a creative practice in the Netherlands, reflecting upon the implications of these outcomes for territorial governance in particular.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Spatial Planning and Strateg

Aufsätze zum Thema Content in der Digitalen Marketingkommunikation

    No full text
In Essay I, the author develops and validates a 4-dimensional second-order measurement model including 17 items to assess consumer perceived firm-generated content value in social media. In addition, the author calculates a multi-group model, revealing that marketers should particularly pay attention to emphasize informative content on Twitter, entertaining content on Instagram, and empathic content on Facebook. Essay II includes a field experiment on Facebook. The author investigates key characteristics of Digital Content Marketing in comparison to Digital Advertising. Moreover, the author demonstrates that perceived content value significantly translates through a positive attitude toward the content into purchase intention and content post interaction intention (i.e., intentions to like, share, and comment). Essay III constitutes a systematic literature review. The author offers a synoptic framework on the impact of digital content dimensions on firm-related consequences that have been examined in the leading marketing journals during the years 2000-2019

c-Rel Downregulation Affects Cell Cycle Progression of Human Keratinocytes

    No full text
The c-Rel protein, a member of the NF-kappa B transcription factor family, exerts unique and distinctive functions in various cell types. Although c-Rel is expressed in human epidermis, its functions in keratinocytes are poorly understood. Our small interfering RNA based approach of c-Rel silencing in HaCaT keratinocytes induced altered cell morphology toward a spindle-shaped appearance. In addition, c-Rel downregulation resulted in increased apoptosis and significantly reduced proliferation towing to G2/M cell cycle delay, concomitant aberrant mitotic spindle formation, and induction of phospho-aurora A(Thr288). The relevance of c-Rel in epithelial carcinogenesis was further supported by detection of c-Rel expression in squamous cell carcinomas of the skin. Our studies indicate that c-Rel is a key regulator of cell fate decisions in keratinocytes such as cell growth and death and may have a role in epidermal carcinogenesis.Wilhelm-Sander-Stiftung [2008.064.1
