SOLAR WATER SEA DISTILLATION USING CONDENSER

Water is one of the main needs of living things, especially humans who need clean water for drinking, bathing, washing and other purposes. However, many regions have difficulties to get clean water, especially people who live on the beach, thus many experts try to process seawater into clean water which is worth drinking. One of the ways to process salt water into fresh water is by distillation. In this research, the author tries to distill water with the help of condenser. In this research, the author made an evaporation chamber of 80 cm x 100 cm x 30 cm. Through the use of solar-powered blower, vapor is inhaled from the evaporation chamber, therefore the pressure on the evaporation chamber will fall, so that the evaporation will occur much faster and the resulting vapor can be supplied to the condenser for cooling. From the test result using variation of blower rotation of 2800 rpm, 2200 rpm, and 1200 rpm, each condensate water produced from the distillation process are 215 ml/h, 410 ml/h, and 250 ml/hr. The condensate resulted from the highest rotation (2800 rpm) produces less condensate, thus based on our observation, we temporarily conclude that it occurs because there is water vapor coming out from the condensate, but more accurate research is needed to confirm it. Condensate of 410 ml/hour is still not as expected, thus this research will be continued in order to reach the expected result

RENEWABLE RESOURCES FROM SEA WAVES ENERGY

Natural energy source that is known so far is from wind, water and sun. For a natural energy source of water is known mainly energy stream. Source of water power from ocean waves flow is still very little attention. In this paper the author will address the source of natural energy from tidal currents and waves of the sea, which turned out to potential and can be very rewarding. Evidence of the influence of natural energy resources of the sea wave currents expressed here are: The influence of ocean currents in the spatial form of Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, which is an average of 0.16 meters below sea level. Due to the low position and very gently sloping, inclined flat, located at the mouth of the river, then the hundreds of large and small rivers flow through the city encountered, so that the life of the population is strongly influenced by the natural conditions. Proven for example with urban spatial structure formed by water transport networks and tenuous housing arrangement, as a result of the condition of the city is split by hundreds of rivers. The first part of this paper addresses the influence of tidal currents on the city located at the mouth of the river, with examples of Banjarmasin City. Part Two presented the benefits to be gained from the pounding waves of the ocean currents, to develop power generation by the power of ocean waves and very simple currents sea water distillation. This equipment has been developed by the Lecturers of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, led by Ir. Rahmad Samosir, MT and exhibited in SMESCO KRENOV FAIR 2014 in Jakarta, and won the championship for the third inter-university inovativ work in Greater Jakarta

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Optimization Power Output Of Horizontal Wind Turbins by Using Cone Tunnel (GJAETS)

Wind turbine is an energy conversion tool (renewable energy). In line with the decrease in fossil oil reserves, therefore, renewable energy will be used as the replacement, including wind energy. Many agricultural areas have not received electricity from the Electricity Company, so that wind turbine is suitable for these agricultural areas. For areas with high wind velocities, the utilization of wind turbines is very effective and efficient, but for areas with low wind velocities, the utilization of wind turbines is less effective. The increase of wind velocity can be engineered by using cone tunnel namely by using the continuity equation. Thus, the author wants to use the wind velocity engineering to optimize the power generated by the wind turbines. From the calculation results, the wind velocity will increase 1.5 folds when flowed through the cone tunnel with dimension of 2.2 m to 1.7 m and for the wind velocity of 5 meters per second will generate 39 Watt power, and if using the cone tunnel as mentioned above will generate 150 Watt power. By performing testing using wind turbine with outer diameter of 1.64 m and inner diameter of 0.44 m, the following results were obtained: in a wind turbine without cone tunnel, the 4 m/sec wind velocity generates 12.75 Watt power, while with cone tunnel generates 17.1 Watt power. The increasing power is not comparable with the theory that should reach 37 Watt. Since the testing was performed in the mechanical engineering laboratory of UKI with the wind source from fan, therefore from the observations performed, we can guess that the increase of power is not comparable to the theory because the wind generated is uneven and even turbulence occurs

Analysis of physical and microstructure liquid fuels from waste plastic pyrolysis polypropylene

The synthesis and testing of the physical properties and microstructure liquid fuels (C5-C18) of poly propylene plastic waste pyrolysis results with temperature variation has been done. One way of processing biodegradable plastic waste by pyrolysis. The process is carried out at various temperatures of 105 ° C, 205 ° C, 325 ° C, and within 48 minutes, and the resulting steam is condensed through the condenser crossflow. The results showed that the liquid fuel close to the characteristics of gasoline, premium gasoline fraction composition (C5-C18) 85.11%. Physical testing of liquid fuels with ICEL 2700 that density is 0.8204 g / cm3 and an octane rating with ASTM D 2699 is 61.3. The results of FTIR spectrum of pyrolysed polypropylene have shown C = C functional group at 1648 cm-1. GCMS analysis confirmed the availability of chain length of hydrocarbon between C7 - C27 which is mixture of kerosene and diesel fractions

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
