    No full text
In this paper, we study three present proposals working with language to create political dissent through poetry. ready (2012), by María Salgado (1984), suggests an experience of loss towards being classless. Hacía un ruido. Frases para un film político (2016), by the same poet, try a democratic overflow through a ?collage? of heterogeneous verbal materials collected in the streets. La curva se volvió barricada (2016), by Ángela Segovia (1987), displays a struggle against every closed form of power that threatens a subject defined by her woman corporality. Overall, these three books mean an outstanding attempt to expand the limits of Spanish contemporary poetry

European Money at Work: Contracting a European Identity?

    No full text
Most literature on the interaction between European institutions and NGOs focuses on interest representation and lobbying. This article tackles a neglected aspect of this interaction: the effects of European funding opportunities on NGO's organizational structures and on their values and identity. EU influence on national political systems is usually analyzed as a process of Europeanization. Some analytical tools as the misfit model can indeed throw some light at the dynamics at work.European funds alter the redistribution of resources among national NGOs, enabling in some cases a dynamics of growth and altering NGOs national landscapes. Specific requirements to obtain European funds can also modify norms about what is to be considered as appropriate behaviour launching a process of socialization. Empirical evidence is drawn from Humanitarian NGOs, which are those receiving more amounts of money from the EU. In order to grasp Europe's differential impact in different national contexts, we have analyzed NGOs from the United Kingdom, France and Spain.lobbying; institutions; NGOs; France; Spain; U.K.

Gil Vicente e a teatralização das linguagens

    No full text
The author attempts to show that the polyglottic nature and the linguistic «gibberish» of Gil Vicente's theatre does not intend to imitate the authenticity of its characters but to «carnivalise» the text, thereby making it a kind of manipean satire, which was in vogue at the time. The author intends to demonstrate that the theatre of Gil Vicente is not a «theatre of signifiers» (i.e. Gil Vicente's writing is not imitative in the aristotelic sense, but figurative)

Emilio Gil: Diseño en tres tiempos

Before this research started, a major issue was faced: the lack of bibliography in Spanish language, either that written in Spanish or translated into Spanish from other language. The above-mentioned issue had a demotivating effect on proceeding with the research work, nonetheless, in order to find solutions to the obstacles it faces and to find out the factors influencing the lack of such bibliography in Spanish, the research was finally carried out. This study targets the Digital Matte Painting technique: how it works, a brief history of the technique, some authors and films that were elaborated using it. The way in which this technique has helped in films will also be mentioned. Certain problems related to it will be presented, focusing on its status in Spain. Throughout his research and scientific experience in the specific technique, the author has been able to identify the obstacles that mostly prevent its consolidation in all areas of its application at the national level (mainly in the film industry). The author therefore provides a set of suggestions that, in his opinion, would contribute in its reinforcement as a digital technique for countless artistic and creative possibilities.

[EN]Retranslation refers to the partial or complete translation of a text that has already been translated. Only after Berman’s retranslation hypothesis in the nineties did interest in this topic arise among researchers. Both those who supported and those who opposed the retranslation hypothesis have begun the quest for the main reasons to retranslate. Ageing, norms, ideologies or publishing criteria are some of them. However, there are two main failures in current studies. On one hand, the reasons to retranslate have not been clearly categorised. On the other hand, empirical studies are still insufficient. We therefore propose an analysis of three translations of Strindberg’s Lycko-Pers Resa into Spanish, based on a theoretical approach as well as the study of Strindberg. [SP

    No full text
