Development of Corner Assembly for Formula Student Class Formula Car FEST24
No full textKäesolev lõputöö keskendus Formula Student klassi vormeli FEST24 nurgakoostu projekteerimisele. Formula Student võistlussari on tootearendusvõistlus, mille raames meeskonnad üle maailma disainivad ja toodavad vormelauto. Võitja selgitatakse välja meeskonna inseneritehniliste teadmiste ja masina rajavõimekuse põhjal.
Töö esimeses etapis loodi nurgakoostule disanikriteeriumid. Varasemate hooaegade analüüsiga tuvastati, et suurimad probleemid olid seotud laagrite lõtkude, lekkivate tihenduste ja planetaarülekannete purunemisega. Meeskonna ja süsteemi puudujääkidest lähtudes määrati konkreetsed disainikriteeriumid. Lisaks kirjeldati võistlussarja reeglipunkte, millele süsteem peab vastama. Leiti süsteemile mõjuvad koormused mudelite ja käsitsi arvutustega. Viimase sammuna valiti hindamismaatriksi põhjal nelja võimaliku kontseptsiooni seast uue nurgakoostu generatsiooni kontseptsioon.
Projekteerimise käigus valiti vajalikud ostutooted – rattalaagrid ja tihendid. Toodetele teostati käsitsi arvutused eluea ja sobivuse kontrollimiseks. Detailide omavaheliseks ühendamiseks ja positsioneerimiseks disainiti konstruktsioonilised detailid. Detailide tugevust kontrolliti lõplike elementide meetodiga kasutades tarkvara Ansys moodulit Static Structural ja Siemens NX.
Toote omahind leiti summaarsena eeltegevuste, projekteerimise, tootmise ning materjali ja ostutoodete maksumusest. Protsesside tunnihindade alla arvestati tööjõukulu, masinakulu, kommunaale, transporti jm. Hinnastatud rattarummude omahinnast moodustab suurima osa projekteerimine. Kõige väiksema osakaaluga on eeltegevuste kulu. Viie FEST24 tarbeks valmistatud rattarummu koostu omahind on 26 476 eurot.
Lõputöö käigus valmisid edukalt FEST24 nurgakoostud. Suurendati edukalt koostu jäikust ja integreeriti uued elektrimootorid ja rattalaagritena radiaaltugikuullaagrid. See tõstab vormeli töökindlust ja dünaamilist suutlikkust. Nurgakoostu disain toetas meeskonna üldeesmärke. Edasised uurimis- ja arendustööd võiksid hõlmata nurgakoostu efektiivsuse analüüsimist ja suurendamist.The aim of this thesis is to design and develop the corner assembly for the FEST24 Formula Student class racing car. Formula Student is an international product development competition where teams design and build formula-styled race cars. The winner is determined by the team's engineering expertise and the car's track performance.
The project began by identifying the shortcomings of previous corner assembly designs used in prior seasons. These included issues like excess bearing clearances, leaking seals, and failures in planetary geartrain. Specific design criteria were established to address these challenges, focusing on improving the system's reliability, maintainability, and efficiency. The competition rules were reviewed to ensure compliance, and forces acting on the system were calculated through modeling and manual methods. Among four proposed concepts, a new corner assembly generation was selected using an evaluation matrix.
During the design phase, purchased components such as bearings and seals were chosen based on strength and lifespan calculations. Constructional details were designed to integrate these components, with their strength verified using finite element analysis (FEA) in Ansys Static Structural and Siemens NX software. A modular approach was employed to facilitate ease of maintenance, and the final design integrated a separation principle for the planetary gearbox and wheel bearings.
The manufacturing cost of the corner assembly was calculated by dividing it into pre-production, design, material, and production phases. Hourly rates included expenses for labor, machines, utilities, and logistics. The design phase accounted for the largest cost share, with pre-production being the least expensive. The estimated cost for five corner assemblies was €26 476.
The thesis successfully delivered an optimized corner assembly for FEST24, achieving improved rigidity and reliability. The integration of new electric motors and angular contact ball bearings enhanced the system's performance and contributed to achieving the team's objectives. Future developments could focus on further analyzing and enhancing the efficiency of the planetary gearbox
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
