Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) terdapat tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan hasil belajar siswa (kognitif dan psikomotorik) (2) terdapat tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inqury dan model guided inqury berbantukan program one day one diary for Science (3) bagaiamana pengelolaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inqury berbantukan program one day one diary for Science.(4) bagaimana aktivitas belajar siswa dalam penerapan model pembelajaran Guided Inquiry dan model pembelajaran Guided Inquiry terbantukan program one day one diary for Science .
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Quasy Experiment dengan model matching pretest-posttest comparation group design dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, sampel yang dipilih yaitu kelas X IPA 1 dan X IPA 2. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 4 Palangka Raya pada 16 Agustus 2018 sampai dengan 16 Oktober 2018. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah hasil belajar psikomotorik, hasil belajar kognitif siswa, aktivitas belajar siswa, dan lembar pengelolaan pembelajaran.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan dengan serangkaian uji penelitian maka terdapat peningkatan pada kemampuan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan nilai rata-rata untuk kelas kontrol pre-tes sebesar 9,508 dan post-test sebesar 56,125 sedangkan untuk kelas eksperimen pre-tes 19,834 dan post-tes 63,402 (2) terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar psikomotorik siswa dengan nilai rata-rata untuk kelas kontrol pre-tes sebesar 59,482 dan post-test sebesar 70,862 sedangkan untuk kelas eksperimen pre-tes 65,161 dan post-tes 68,145 dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan model dan program ini berhasil dan sesuai dengan harapan peneliti (3) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa setiap pertemuan (5) Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan oleh 3 orang pengamat akhli dari mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika IAIN Palangka Raya bahwa pengelolaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inqury dan guided inqury berbantukan program one day one diary for Science berjalan sesuai harapan peneliti. Semua aspek dalam tahapan pembelajaran berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Meskipun kadang terdapat beberapa kendala namun dapat diatasi dengan baik.
ABSTRACT
The study aimd to determine: (1) there is a significant difference in the ability of stundence un the outcome (cognitive and psychomotoric) (2) there is a significant difference in student learning activir tes by using guided inqury learning model aided by one day one diary for science (3) whathere or not there is an increase in learning outcome (cognitive and psychomotor) student (4) there is an increase in student learning activites by using guided inqury model aided one day one diary for science program.
This study uses the Quasy Experiment research method with a pretest-posttest comparation group design matching model with sampling using purposive sampling, the selected sample is class X IPA 1 and X IPA 2. This research was conducted at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya on August 16 2018 until October 16 2018. The instruments used were psychomotor learning, student cognitive learning, student learning activities, and learning management sheets.
The results showed that: (1) based on research conducted with a series of research tests, there was an increase in the ability of students' cognitive learning outcomes with an average value for the pre-test control class of 9.508 and post-test of 56.125 while for the pre-experimental class test 19,834 and post-test 63,402 (2) there was a significant increase in student psychomotor learning outcomes with an average value for the pre-test control class of 59,482 and post-test of 70,862 while for the experimental class pre-test 65,161 and post-test 68,145 it can be concluded that the use of this model and program was successful and in accordance with the expectations of researchers (3) there were significant differences in student learning activities at each meeting (5) Based on observations made by 3 expert observers from students of Physics Education Study Program IAIN Palangka Raya that learning management using guided learning models inqury and guided inqury with the one day one diary for Science program run according to the expectations of researchers. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
