    Natural Enemies Conservation: The Role of Neem-seed Extracts for Natural Enemies Conservation Used of Cotton Insect Pest Control. Insects associated with cotton plant are numerous, as the plant bears extrafloral nectar. More than 90 species of natural enemies are reported and identified. They could manage the cotton pest, keeping the pest population is under action threshold level when their presence is considered in scouting and action threshold concept. However, most of cotton farmers are insecticide-spray-minded people who think that insecticide sprays is a must in cotton cultivation. This behavior is unfavorable for the natural enemies in building their population so they can act as an effective mortality factor for the pest. Neem seed extract (NSE) is toxic to herbivores but relatively safe for natural enemies, so that it could be used as a substitute for synthetic chemical insecticides. Therefore, NSE is recommended to be used for conserving natural enemies in cotton agro ecosystem. KEY WORDS: neem seed extract, Gossypium hirsutum, conservation

    Developing Cotton IPM by Conserving Parasitoids and Predators of The Main Pest

    On early development of intensive cotton program, insect pests were considered as an important aspect in cotton cultivation, so that it needed to be scheduled sprays. The frequency of sprays was 7 times used 12L of chemical insecticides per hectare per season. Development of cotton IPM was emphasized on non-chemical control methods through optimally utilize natural enemies of the cotton main pests (Amrasca biguttulla (Ishida)Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner)). Conservation of parasitoids and predators by providing the environment that support their population development is an act of supporting the natural enemies as an effective biotic mortality factor of the insect pests. The conservation could be done by improving the plant matter and cultivation techniques that include the use of resistant variety to leafhopper, intercropping cotton with secondary food plants, mulch utilization, using action threshold that considered the presence of natural enemies, and application of botanical insecticides, if needed. Conservation of parasitoids and predators in cotton IPM could control the insect pests without any insecticide spray in obtaining the production of cotton seed. As such, the use of IPM method would increase farmers’ income

    Bagi UMKM, pembuatan laporan keuangan secara rapih sesuai dengan standar masih menjadi sesuatu hal yang sulit untuk dilakukan. Oleh karena itu, kami para dosen Universitas Pamulang ingin membantu mendampingi dalam hal pembuatan laporan keuangan bagi UMKM. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian kali&nbsp;ini, kami memberikan solusi untuk menggunakan aplikasi pembuatan laporan keuangan untuk UMKM yaitu SI-APIK, tujuannya adalah agar para UKM menjadi lebih mudah dalam pembuatan laporan keuangannya dengan aplikasi ini yang mudah digunakan dan dipahami oleh pelaku UMKM yang tidak memiliki basic pendidikan akuntansi. Selain itu, tersedianya aplikasi tersebut pada handphone dan dapat melalui website mempermudah pelaku UMKM dalam menginput transaksi ekonominya. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini melibatkan UMKM Mamain Food Indonesia sebagai objek penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan adalah metode langsung tatap muka dan pendampingan yakni dengan menganalisis dan&nbsp;problem solving. Materi pembukuan keuangan disajikan dengan ceramah, pelatihan, tanya-jawab, demonstrasi, dan penyelesaian kasus. Selanjutnya proses pencatatan dimulai dengan contoh-contoh transaksi sederhana yang biasa dilakukan melalui aplikasi SI APIK, aplikasi android yang dikeluarkan Bank Indonesia. Hasil pelatihan dan pendampingan &nbsp;literasi finansial pelaporan keuangan melalui aplikasi berbasis android ini berjalan dengan baik, serta terjadi peningkatan pemahaman mengenai pengetahuan dasar pencatatan keuangan dan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai pengoperasian aplikasi keuangan berbasis android. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil pencatatan laporan keuangan pelaku UMKM yaitu Mamain Food Indonesia dengan menggunakan aplikasi SI APIK ini menjadi lebih rapih dan sesuai standar dibandingkan sebelumnya serta pelaku UMKM yaitu Mamain Food Indonesia sudah bisa melakukan pencatatan keuangan atas operasi usaha yang dilakukan melalui aplikasi SI APIK. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan aplikasi keuangan SI APIK berbasis android dapat meningkatkan kemampuan UMKM Mamain Food Indonesia dalam menyusun pelaporan keuangan yang sesuai standar sehingga akan lebih mudah dalam mendapatkan modal dari lembaga keuangan.For UMKM, making financial reports neatly in accordance with standards is still something that is difficult to do. In addition, the availability of the application on mobile phones and through the website makes it easier for MSME actors to input their economic transactions. This community service involves UMKM Mamain Food Indonesia as the object of research. The method used in the training is a direct method of face-to-face and mentoring, namely by analyzing and problem solving. Financial accounting materials are presented with lectures, training, questions and answers, demonstrations, and case resolution. Furthermore, the recording process begins with examples of simple transactions that are usually carried out through the SI APIK application, an android application issued by Bank Indonesia. The results of financial literacy training and financial reporting assistance through this android-based application went well, and there was an increase in understanding of basic knowledge of financial records and an increased understanding of the operation of android-based financial applications. This is evidenced by the results of recording the financial statements of UMKM actors, namely Mamain Food Indonesia, using the SI APIK application, which is more neat and according to standards than before and UMKM actors, namely Mamain Food Indonesia, have been able to carry out financial records of business operations carried out through the SI APIK application. So it can be concluded that the application of the Android-based SI APIK financial application can improve the ability of UMKM Mamain Food Indonesia in compiling financial reporting according to standards so that it will be easier to get capital from financial institutions

    Eksplorasi dan uji keragaan parasitoid penggerek buah kapas Pectinophora gossypiella Saunders (Lepidoptera: Gelechidae)

    Pink bollworm, P. gossypiella, is a main pest of cotton that causes boll damage up to 70%. Recommended IPM has not effectively control this pest. The use of parasitoids of this pest is one of strategy to manage this pest population as using chemical control is expensive and caused secondary pest. This research objective is to study some biological aspects of pink bollworm parasitoids by doing exploration of the parasitoids in cotton growing areas and testing the potential candidates as biocontrol agents. The activity was conducted from April - December 2001. The research was conducted in two steps: survey and laboratory tests. The survey was conducted in East Java (Asembagus and Lamongan), Central Java (Brebes) and South Sulawesi (Bone) by collecting pink bollworm eggs and identifying the emerged parasitoids. Laboratory tests were done in Biological Control Laboratory of ITFCRI, Malang, consists of reproductive performance aspects. We found two and five species of egg and larval parasitoids, respectively. Parasitism level of egg was 81% by Tichogrammatoidea spp. and that of larva was 24% by Apanteles sp. These two parasitoids are predominant and found in all cotton growing areas. Tichogrammatoidea spp. have opportunity to be used as biocontrol agent in release program, while Apanteles sp. would have valuable role in conservation approach
