    Aspects of a Watermark Solution

    No full text
Although watermarking is a relatively new technology, there are many ways of applying it on an electronic data set with the purpose of ensuring copyright integrity and authenticity of the electronic data. But, bearing in mind the evolution of information technology and of communication, a watermark may be the target of several attacks which aim at its robustness, its form and even at its removal. In order to reduce these threats, this paper proposes a solution - digital watermarking completed by a hash function which has an important role in the authenticity of the content of a message and in the security of the transmission of this message through computer networks which are the main support of collaborative systems.Digital Watermarking, Hash Functions, Digital Information Security, Collaborative Systems

Yitzhak Arad – a witness, soldier and historian

    No full text
The article is devoted to Yitzhak Arad – a General in the Israel Defense Forces, a professor at the University of Tel Aviv, researching the history of the Holocaust, and the director of Yad Vashem, bound from an early age with the Zionist idea . The author of the article cites biographical information about Arad, who, born in the Vilnius region under the name Rudnicki, survived the war as a member of Soviet guerrilla troops, and then got to Palestine. The author draws attention to the numerous achievements of Yitzhak Arad in the field of the history of the Holocaust: he is the author of the most important study devoted to the Vilnius ghetto (Ghetto in flames), and a study on the death camps in Belzec, Treblinka and Sobibor. Moreover, he helped to popularize in the West Dziennik (The Diary) of Kazimierz Sakowicz by the means of an English edition. The author also mentions in this article the controversies associated with the historian – including the initiation of an investigation in 2006 by the Lithuanian authorities, concerning the participation of Arad as an employee of the Soviet secret police in actions against the Lithuanian partisans and in atrocities against the civilian population, which was, however, closed for the lack of evidence.EWA ROGALEWSKA, dr, wieloletni kustosz Muzeum w Tykocinie (do 2001 roku), kierownik Referatu Edukacji Historycznej w Oddziałowym Biurze Edukacji Publicznej w Białymstoku Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej. TEACHERS OF PEDAGOGY AND PEDAGOGUES OF ARAD PREPARANDIA

    No full text
We are highlighting, by enforcing Vasile Popeanga`s opinion, the pedagogic character of the institution, a core for building up an atmosphere specific for education in the spirit of time. From the beginning, Å¢ichindeal promoted a new concept of education based on the idea of national identity. He had as reference point the translated volume of Peter Villaume, „Pedagogy and methodology for town and village school teachersâ€; the author was a pedagogue of European openness, taking the role of „unifying new pedagogic ideas into a national system of educationâ€52. The first pedagogy professor, Ioan MihuÅ£, elaborated a manual of pedagogic sciences (deposited in copies at the Archives of Karlovitz, Sibiu and Cluj) structured in four parts: „the needs of folk schools (1); the folk educational system (2); the core of educational act (3) and the explanation of methodological problems (4)â€53. For Ioan MihuÅ£, pedagogy is „the science that teaches you to bring up teenagersâ€. The primary ideas have later on developed into coherent structures for future teachers and their teaching performance.Â

Impact of Human Development Indicators on Child Mortality: The Case Study of Iran

    No full text
The mortality rate of children under the age of five is of particular importance, as it is often related to the general level of health and living standard condition of the household in the society. The study aimed to investigate the effects of the Human Development Index on public health with particular reference to the under-five mortality rate in Iran. As a method a descriptive-analytical method including ordinary least square regression analysis was used to identify the causal relationship between the human development index and the under-five mortality rate during the period of the study (1987-2017) in Iran. The results show that there is a negative and meaningful relationship between the human development index (HDI) level and the under-five mortality rate. Moreover, the control variables including inflation rate, unemployment rate, and income distribution inequality index showed a positive and meaningful impact on the under-five mortality rate. Given that human capital is considered the engine of economic growth and development, it can be concluded that any increase in health expenditures through improvements in human capital inventory leads to increased economic growth, increased life expectancy, and decreased under-five mortality rate

"Implementing Modular Design: A Catalyst for Advancing Circularity in Innovative Projects"

    No full text
Innovative projects have a high failure rate, which is costly in terms of wasted raw materials and technical resources if the facility does not operate. In this master's thesis, the applicability of modular design for reusing the equipment is evaluated in an effort to decrease this waste and improve the circular market. To encourage businesses to employ modular design and reuse the equipment in their projects, multiple suggestions are offered. One of the most important first steps for adopting this method seems to be raising awareness and developing a culture where new ideas are encouraged and accepted.Civil Engineering | Construction Management and Engineerin

    CONTEMPORARY REPRESENTATION OFâ€SOCIAL PEDAGOGYâ€

    No full text
The author attempts to clarify a concept which, from the perspective of those interested in behavioural sciences, has multiple meanings. The author exemplifies the fact that ‟social pedagogy‟ – as a science – deals, in the view of some, with social assistance, or, according to others, with the education of adults or with the problems faced by people with adaptation difficulties or with special educational needs. Anton Ilica defines the concept by stating the fact that social pedagogy is a branch of pedagogy which focuses on social integration, namely the systemic socialization of the young generation

LOCAL CONTEXT AS SYSTEMIC INNER FORMATION THROUGHOUT ACADEMIC DISCOURSE

    No full text
In contemporary linguistics two contextual structures have been singled out:horizontal context (supplying the necessary semantic environment for a word inits word distribution) and vertical context (supplying the necessary semanticenvironment for a text in its discourse distribution). Both the contexts areautomatically realized and distinguished through the sentence or text analysisindependent on any particular type of text. However, the constant spreading of theinvestigatory base of the present linguistic research involves the spheres andcommunicative registers where the context itself becomes a functional categoryand might be regarded as dependent on the author of the text. This dependencerealizes through particular textual structures quite consciously inserted into thetext by its author in the function of presuppositional elements necessary for theadequate understanding of the text as a whole. This way of explicit contextactualization is rather productive and common in academic writing. Thesestructures are borrowed from convergent disciplinary texts and designed asintegrated intertextual elements of various semantic and syntactic completeness. We think it proper to identify these stereotypical structures as “Local Contextâ€(LC) and define it as a part of disciplinary dialogue (or vertical context)consciously chosen by the author in order to be used in the text as a complex ofparticular preliminary information necessary for understanding the texteffectively
