    No full text
The professional administration of student counseling playsa crucial role in the formation and harmonious development ofstudents, particularly those who have experienced prolongedperiods of learning in isolation due to the online educationsystem. In our case, eighth-grade students who have undergonethis type of education require targeted psychological, emotional, and academic support to reintegrate successfully into atraditional learning environment. Through specializedcounseling programs, students can enhance their socialinteraction skills, improve their emotional well-being, andregain confidence in face-to-face educational settings. Moreover, professional counseling helps identify individualchallenges, providing tailored interventions that facilitate bothacademic achievement and personal growth. Addressing thelong-term effects of online learning requires a structured, empathetic, and adaptive approach, ensuring that studentsdevelop resilience, motivation, and a sense of belonging withintheir school community

The purpose of this study was to assess the difficultiessecondary school students encounter in translating algebraicword problems into algebraic equations. This study wasconducted at Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State,Nigeria. A survey research approach was employed in this study. Two research questions were answered and one hypothesis wastested in this study. The sample was 140 participants, selectedusing stratified proportionate random sampling approach. Thedata gathering tool was an essay test constructed by theresearcher and entitled ‘Algebraic Word Problem Test (AWPT)’.The AWPT was validated by experts after which the inter-raterreliability was determined using Kendall’s correlation ofconcordance (W) which yielded reliability index of 0.81. Thefindings indicated that students did not encounter difficult inrepresenting unknown variables with letters. However, studentshad difficulties in: (i) generating linear algebraic terms, (ii)creating linear algebraic expressions, (iii) equating twoalgebraic expressions to obtained the require equations, (iv) ingenerating the two distinct simultaneous equations as requiredby the questions, (v) creating quadratic terms, (vi) generatingquadratic algebraic expressions, and (vii) creating and writingthe final quadratic equation. Gender had no influence ondifficulties encountered by students in translating word problemsto equations. Recommendations were made in light of thefindings

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND MANAGEMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION: 10.24250/jpe/1/2025/NJKA/

    No full text
A significant issue related to social justice in highereducation is the lack of equitable access to quality education forall individuals regardless of their socio-economic background. This problem is rooted in issues such as rising tuition costs, limited financial aid options, disparities in resources andopportunities among different communities, and systematicbarriers that prevent marginalized groups from pursuing highereducation. The purpose of this study was to investigate therelationship between social justice and the management ofhigher education. The research used a survey instrument and aquantitative research design. Statistical techniques includingSPSS version 20.0, and SMART PLS software were used toanalyze the received questionnaire and test the hypotheses.Social justice represented three distinct factors, i.e., affordableeducation, safe and inclusive environment, and languageaccessibility; management of higher education was indicated bythree dimensions, governance structure, quality assurance aswell and student service. The result also demonstrated thevalidity and reliability of each factor. The findings show apositive and strong relationship between affordable education, asafe and inclusive environment, language accessibility, andmanagement of higher education. The study recommends that thegovernment should make education more affordable, necessary, free, accessible, acceptable, and flexible enough to adjust tosocietal changes. Also, should provide a safe and inclusiveenvironment as well as multilateral interaction to ensurelanguage accessibility. The study's conclusions show thataffordable education, a safe and inclusive environment, language accessibility, and management of higher educationhave a good and significant association

APPROACHES TO THE MENTORING ACTIVITY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF EDUCATIONAL ETHICS: 10.24250/jpe/si/2025/LT/

Knowledge of professional responsibilities from amoral-pedagogical perspective is a goal ofeducational ethics codes. As a professionaleducator, a mentor teacher must have the ability tocarry out reflections, critical-constructive analysesand representations of fundamental pedagogicalconcepts and, at the same time, to offer moralperspectives in various professional and lifesituations. Establishing educational objectives atdifferent levels, selecting and configuringeducational content, establishing evaluation forms, methods, and criteria, managing and regulatingrelationships with learners, colleagues, decisionmakers, and parents are all professionalresponsibilities that require pedagogical but alsoethical competencies for educational professionals. The inclusion in codes of professional ethics ineducation of issues related to the deontology ofeducational purposes, the deontology of educationalcontent, the deontology of evaluation, thedeontology of pedagogical relations can stimulatethe reflection and action of teachers who carry outmentoring activities but, at the same time, also thatof the mentored persons. The purpose of theinvestigation was to highlight the importance ofincluding in the codes of educational ethics someprinciples that regulate the exercise of mentor roles, especially from the perspective of the deontology ofevaluation and the deontology of pedagogicalrelations between teacher and student but alsobetween teachers. Starting from the premise thatethical and deontological regulations in anyprofessional field have the role of protecting thequality of professional services offered by specialistsin that field, the need to consider ethical principlesof behaviour of the mentor teacher is imperative in the educational field and that of initial professionaltraining due to the mechanism that underpins thementoring process: the mentor's professional serviceincludes behaviours and attitudes, and it has aformative, directing, and guiding role more than inother fields

DEVELOPING SITUATIONAL ADAPTATION SKILLS IN YOUNG STUDENTS THROUGH MULTIMEDIA LEARNING STRATEGIES: 10.24250/jpe/si/2025/AME/

In an increasingly dynamic and unpredictable world, theability of young students to adapt to situational changes isa vital skill. This study explores the effectiveness ofmultimedia learning strategies in fostering situationaladaptation skills among primary school students.Grounded in cognitive load theory and the multimedialearning principles of Mayer, the research utilizes a quasiexperimentaldesign involving two groups of students aged8–10. The experimental group engaged in interactivemultimedia modules integrating video, animation, andadaptive tasks, while the control group followed atraditional textbook-based curriculum. Pre- and postassessmenttools measured changes in adaptability,decision-making, and transferability of learning acrosscontexts. Results indicated a statistically significantimprovement in the experimental group’s situationaladaptation performance, suggesting that multimediastrategies can enhance cognitive flexibility and situationalawareness. These findings offer practical implications forcurriculum designers and educators seeking to embed 21stcenturyskills into early education frameworks

Development of fuzzy supplier-rating by trapeze fuzzy membership functions with trigonometrical legs

In every fields of industry, suppliers create the elements for the final products of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer),which means, suppliers ”define” the quality of the final products via the quality of elements. Due to this, the continuous evaluationof supplier performance can be one of the most effcient risk assessment tools to identify weakness in early stages, make thepossibility to implement corrective actions in time. The paper offers new development of supplier-rating based on fuzzy set theorywhere trapeze fuzzy membership functions are used with trigonometrical legs. This investigation is made for providing betterrating by the authors. This interpretation is more effective and correct of course in point of view of manufacturing

The (G, beta, phi, h(. , .), rho, theta)-Univexities of Higher-Orders with Applications to Parametric Duality Models in Minimax Fractional Programming

    No full text
Based on the recently introduced (see (Verma, 2012)) major higher-order generalizations (G, beta, phi, h(. , .), rho, theta) - univexities, several second-order parametric duality models for a semi-infinite minimax fractional programming problem are developed with appropriate duality results under various generalized second-order (G, beta, phi, h(. , .), rho, theta) - univexity assumptions. The obtained results encompass a large variety of investigations on generalized univexities and their extensions in the literature

Visual Motif Patterns in Separation Spaces

This article introduces descriptive separation spaces useful in the discovery of what are known as motif patterns. The proposed approach presents the separation axioms in terms of descriptive proximities. Asymmetries arise naturallyin the form of the separation of neighbourhoods of descriptively distinct points in what are known as Leaderuniformtopological spaces. A practical application of the proposed approach is given in terms of visual motif patterns, identification of nearness structures and pattern stability analysis in digital images
