Effects of electrodes on the electric properties of Pb(Zr,Ti)O-3 films deposited by electron cyclotron resonance plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition
The effects of electrodes on the deposition characteristics and electrical properties of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) films deposited by electron cyclotron resonance plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (ECR-PECVD) were investigated. Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si and RuO2/SiO2/Si were used as bottom electrodes (substrates) for PZT capacitors. Pt and RuO2 were used as top electrodes. The nucleation of the perovskite phase was more difficult on RuO2 substrates than on Pt/Ti substrates, and the PZT films grown on RuO2 substrates tend to have Pb-based second phases. Precise control of the flow rates of metalorganic sources (particularly the lead source) and the introduction of a proper seed layer are required to obtain films of the single perovskite phase and good electrical properties on the RuO2 substrate. An excellent leakage current density of 10(-6) A/cm(2) at 150 kV/cm was obtained from the Pt(top)/PZT/RuO2(bottom) capacitor with the introduction of a 4 nm-thick Ti-oxide seed layer. The polarization fatigue and current leakage characteristics of the PZT capacitors with four different electrode configurations (Pt \\ Pt, RuO2 \\ Pt, Pt \\ RuO2, and RuO2 \\ RuO2) were also investigated. Only the RuO2/PZT/RuO2 capacitor did not show any polarization fatigue even after 10(10) cycles, while the other capacitors, whose either top or bottom electrode was Pt, showed distinct polarization fatigues. The RuO2/PZT/RuO2 capacitor, however, showed a leakage current density of as high as 10(-4) A/cm(2) at 100 kV/cm.The consortium of semiconductor advanced research(COSAR) as project No. 98-B6-C0-00-02-00

Improving sponsorship sales for Jukurit HC Oy
The objective of this thesis is to find out what sponsors are looking for in the sponsorship with Jukurit and how they are measuring the results of the sponsorship. The purpose of this study is to provide Jukurit with suggestions on how the sponsorship communication can be improved in order to increase the satisfaction of the current sponsors as well as enhance the sponsor acquisition process for new sponsors.
Jukurit is an ice hockey team that competes in Liiga, the top ice hockey level in Finland. By player budget and turnover, it is the smallest team in Liiga which has encouraged the organization to seek further growth in the sponsorship sales. In order to do so, the current sponsorship deals need to be studied in order to gain an insight of the sponsoring companies’ motives and objectives so that the sponsorship sales process could be made more efficient.
This thesis was carried out as a case study. The concepts relevant for the study were researched and explained in the theoretical part. For the empirical part of the study, qualitative research approach was used and current sponsors of Jukurit were interviewed. The interviews were analyzed, and suggestions were made based on the findings. The companies that were interviewed are not disclosed by names due to sponsorship deals being confidential in nature.
There were several notable findings done from the interviews. Overall, thus far the sponsors have in general been satisfied with their sponsorship with Jukurit but also, concerning issues were found. Many of the sponsors have had trouble setting clear objectives for the sponsorship and as a result of that, it has been very difficult to measure the results of the sponsorship. On the other hand, the communication between Jukurit and the sponsors has not been sufficient enough resulting in problems concerning the suitable contents for the sponsorships. It was brought up by several sponsors, that their main motive for sponsoring Jukurit is the desire to support a local sports team. In case Jukurit cannot provide the sponsors with tangible results from the sponsorship, the likeliness of the sponsorship relationship falling through is relatively higher that it would be if the sponsors gained satisfactory commercial results.
In order to increase the sponsorship sales, Jukurit needs to improve proving tools to measuring results so that the objectives set for the sponsorship are matched

Metabolic profiling and population screening of analgesic usage in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy-based large-scale epidemiologic studies
The application of a 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy-based screening method for determining the use of two widely available analgesics (acetaminophen and ibuprofen) in epidemiologic studies has been investigated. We used samples and data from the cross-sectional INTERMAP Study involving participants from Japan (n = 1145), China (n = 839), U.K. (n = 501), and the U.S. (n = 2195). An orthogonal projection to latent structures discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) algorithm with an incorporated Monte Carlo resampling function was applied to the NMR data set to determine which spectra contained analgesic metabolites. OPLS-DA preprocessing parameters (normalization, bin width, scaling, and input parameters) were assessed systematically to identify an optimal acetaminophen prediction model. Subsets of INTERMAP spectra were examined to verify and validate the presence/absence of acetaminophen/ibuprofen based on known chemical shift and coupling patterns. The optimized and validated acetaminophen model correctly predicted 98.2%, and the ibuprofen model correctly predicted 99.0% of the urine specimens containing these drug metabolites. The acetaminophen and ibuprofen models were subsequently used to predict the presence/absence of these drug metabolites for the remaining INTERMAP specimens. The acetaminophen model identified 415 out of 8436 spectra as containing acetaminophen metabolite signals while the ibuprofen model identified 245 out of 8604 spectra as containing ibuprofen metabolite signals from the global data set after excluding samples used to construct the prediction models. The NMR-based metabolic screening strategy provides a new objective approach for evaluation of self-reported medication data and is extendable to other aspects of population xenometabolome profiling

Comparison between PI, PR+HC, and modified PR+HC current controller in inverter system
This paper presents the comparison between proportional integral (PI) current controller, proportional resonance and harmonic compensator (PR+HC) current controller and modified PR+HC current controller in the inverter system. Power electronic components like inverter and current controller uses in the system produce unwanted harmonics that affect the quality of distribution power network. In this study, development and simulation of current controller using conventional proportional integral (PI), the selective harmonic compensation scheme (PR+HC), and modified version of the latter are considered so to overcome these harmonics injection. Modification is by adding control parameter randomisation technique to the PR+HC scheme. Results compare the three controllers and proved that with modification to the selective harmonic compensation scheme, the overall current THD can be reduced
VIBRATIONAL RELAXATION IN THE BINARY GASEOUS MIXTURES AND
Author Institution: Laboratoire de Spectronomie Moleculaire, Universit\'e de Paris VI, 4, Place Jussieu - Tour 13Vibrational relaxation rates for gaseous mixtures , with or , in which vibrational energy transfer can occur from the level of M to the v = 1 level of , has been measured as a function of the temperature using the laser-induced vibrational fluorescence technique. The relaxation processes which must be considered are: - the V-V transfer process: \begin{eqnarray*} &&M(00^{\circ }1)+ HC (v=0)\begin{array}{c}^{k}M-HC\ell\\ \rightleftharpoons\\ ^{k}HC\ell-M\end{array}M(00^{\circ}0)+ HC\ell(v=1)+ \Delta E=he\Delta\nu\\ &&with\ \Delta\nu=-537\, cm^{-1} for\ CO_{2}, -663\, cm ^{-1}\ for\ N_{2}O \end{eqnarray*} - the V-TR de-excitation processes: \begin{eqnarray*} M(00^{\circ}1)+ HC\ell(or M)\stackrel{k^{HC\ell}_{M}}{(o\vec{r}\; k_{M})}M(mn^{\ell}0)+HC\ell (or \; M)\\ HC\ell(v=1)+ M(or\; HC\ell)\stackrel{k^{M}_{HC\ell}}{(o\vec{r}\; k_{HC\ell})}HC\ell(v=0)+M(or \; HC\ell) \end{eqnarray*} For most of the systems in which near-resonant V-V transfers occur, the V-TR de-excitation rates are negligible compared to the V-V transfer rates. But this is not the case for the M-HC systems considered in this work. The de-excitation rates and are of the same order of magnitude as the V-V transfer rates and respectively. In order to determine separately all these rates, relaxation measurements have been performed by exciting either H to the level or to the v = 1 level, and measuring the relaxation rates versus the molar fraction of the gas excited by laser. The results are discussed and compared with the values of the rates calculated by using a Morse potential as the intermolecular potential, and according to a semi-classical method in which a vibration-rotation exchange is assumed
