Entender quais foram as posições ocupadas por Raul Seixas no campo, suas relações com a indústria fonográfica e com as obras e posicionamentos de outros artistas constituem o objetivo do trabalho. Através do referencial teórico-metodológico de Pierre Bourdieu foi possível analisar as criações musicais de Raul Seixas bem como suas propostas extra-musicais (como a Sociedade Alternativa) sem recorrer às explicações que reduzem a obra ao contexto ou que justificam sua produção como resultante de capacidades especiais, como a figura do gênio.This research aims to understand the initial trajectory of Raul Seixas in the musical field, especially in the period of 1972 to 1974. Understand what were the positions taken by Raul Seixas in this field, its relations with the music industry and with the works and positioning of other artists constitute the objective of the work. Through theoretical and methodological framework of Pierre Bourdieu it was possible to analyze the musical creations of Raul Seixas and his extra-musical proposals (such as the Alternative Society) without resorting to explanations that reduce his work to the context or that justify his production as a result of ownership of special abilities, like the figure of a genius

    The collection contains items relating to individual members of the family as well as the Seixas family in general. Included are papers of the following persons: Isaac Mendes Seixas (1708/9-1780/1), a copy of A voyage to Hudson's--Bay, by Henry Ellis, inscribed with his name on the title page, along with additional inscriptions on the end papers (1748); and a daily prayer book printed in Amsterdam (title page missing), with an inscription on the first page indicating that the book was owned by Seixas in 1758/9, and subsequently by his grandson, Theodore J. Seixas, in 1816/17.Of special interest in the prayer book is a sheet bound in between leaf nos. 89 and 90 giving prayers for the President, Vice-President, and Congress of the United States, and a slip of paper indicating that the prayerbook was given by Theodore Seixas to his uncle, the Rev. I.B. Seixas, in 1825; Benjamin Seixas (1748-1817), two typewritten copies of a petition calling for military training signed by Seixas and 15 other officers (1775) (originally published in the Calendar New York historical manuscripts, vol. 1, p. 152), two business items dealing with Nicholas Low (1791, 1792), and two documents relating to B. Seixas' arrest (1792, 1799); Moses Seixas (1744-1809) or Moses B. Seixas (1780-1839), an inventory of the estate of an unidentified person among whose possessions was "Moses Seixas's Bond Dated December 4th 1809" (n.d.); Isaac M. Seixas (1778-1826), a legal document regarding the delapidated condition of a building owned by his minor children (1829); Isaac B. Seixas (1781-1839), a eulogy for Isaac H. Judah of Richmond (1827); Solomon Seixas (1787-1840), an inscribed copy of the printed proceedings of the Great Sanhedrin in France in 1806 from E. Seixas (1821); David G. Seixas (1788-1864), a legal document in the case of United States vs. Hayman Marks and David G. Seixas (1824); Jacob B. Seixas (1795-1854), letters of administration for the estate of Zipporah Seixas, also signed by Jonas B. Phillips (1846).Joshua Seixas (1802-187-?), a letter to a student in which he discusses his recent conversion to Christianity (1834); Abraham Mendes Seixas (1810-1867), the inventory of his estate (1867); and Isaac G. Seixas (b. 1817), a document recommending a man for a position in the New York (?) Customs House, signed by Seixas, among others (n.d.).Also included in the collection are coats of arms of the Seixas family; correspondence concerning the biographical chronology of David G.
