Counseling on nutritious food and healthy snacks for children at course institutions
It is important for students to have the knowledge to make nutritious and safe snack choices. Providing children with an understanding of healthy and unhealthy foods is crucial. We understand that what a person understands can impact their actions and views. Knowledge plays a significant role in shaping behavior. Adequate and high-quality nutritional intake is crucial to support the optimal growth and development of school-age children. Malnutrition can cause disorders in various organ systems in their bodies. At school age, children begin to show a desire to make their own food choices. Holding health education activities regarding healthy snacks and the dangers of unhealthy foods is one solution that can be implemented. Therefore, the author conducted education activities about nutritious foods and healthy snacks for children at a course institution, with the aim of providing knowledge to school-age children studying at the Universal Technology Computer course institution, so that these children understand nutritious foods and healthy snacks and no longer eat or snack carelessly. The methods used were interactive lectures, discussions and questions and answers, pre-test and post-test evaluations. The results of the counseling conducted at the Universal Technology Computer course institution showed that the counseling program was able to improve the knowledge of the participants. The highest score was 86.7% after the counseling, compared to only 20% before the counseling. Therefore, with the knowledge gained, the counseling participants were able to choose nutritious foods and healthy snacks for their consumption
Counseling on The Impact of Early Marriage at Pasar VI Village Kualanamu
Marriage is carried out for each couple who is ready to get married both morally and materially and has a commitment to live together and is mature in terms of age so that later the couple is ready to undergo and be able to overcome all the problems that may occur after marriage, however, there are many cases that occur in society regarding early marriage, where the couple is still under age. One form of effort to prevent early marriage is by providing counseling containing information about the negative impacts of early marriage, especially for women. This information can be conveyed to parties who can take part in reducing the rate of early marriage, such as PKK mothers who have an active role in the village. Therefore, the author conducted outreach about the impact of early marriage to PKK mothers in Pasar VI Kualanamu Village, Beringin District, with the aim being that PKK mothers in the village have knowledge about the impact of early marriage, so that they can contribute to reducing the rate of early marriage. . The method applied in implementing this counseling is the lecture method. This community service is carried out in two stages, namely the counseling stage and the assessment stage. The results of the counseling carried out showed an increase in the percentage achieved in the knowledge of PKK mothers regarding the impact of early marriage after receiving the counseling, so it can be seen that this activity is considered to be able to increase the knowledge of PKK mothers in the village. By increasing knowledge about early marriage, the counseling participants who are PKK mothers who are active in the community every day and deal directly with local residents, are expected to be able to contribute to reducing the rate of early marriage, especially in Pasar VI Kualananamu Village
Detection of Borax Content with Turmeric (Curcuma Longa Linn.) in Meatball Snacks in the Pekenan Area
Meatball snacks are one of the most popular culinary delights in Indonesia, nutrition in the form of animal protein which is important for the growth and development of our bodies can be obtained from consuming meatballs, but what is worrying is that there are irresponsible sellers who are not responsible for maintaining consumer health, namely adding borax as a food additive so that meatballs last longer and are more chewy, the use of borax in food can cause health problems. The Pekenan Pasar Sore area is an area that is one of the places where meatball sellers sell their wares, therefore the author conducted a study on the detection of borax content with turmeric filtrate in meatball snacks sold in the Pekenan Pasar Sore area, with the aim of finding out whether or not there are meatball sellers in the area who add borax to the ingredients for making their meatballs. This research was conducted from June to August 2024. This type of research is qualitative. The meatball samples in this study were meatballs from meatball traders in the Pekenan Pasar Sore area, Beringin District, totaling 12 traders taken by total sampling. Organoleptic tests and detection of borax content were carried out on meatball samples with turmeric filtrate. The data were analyzed descriptively. From the results of the study, it was found that the physical characteristics of the A-L meatball sample included having a natural meat aroma, gray color, and a texture that was not too chewy. And the results of the borax test on the A-L meatball sample with turmeric filtrate produced a yellow color. So from these results it shows that the A-L meatball sample sold by meatball sellers in the Pekenan Pasar Sore area does not contain borax
Counseling on The Importance of Maintaining Women's Reproductive Health
Maintaining women's reproductive health behavior is something that is very important for every woman from childhood, adolescence, to adulthood. This is because the female reproductive organs are organs that function as a place for menstrual blood to exit, a place for fetal development and sexual intercourse. Many reproductive health problems can arise from not maintaining women's reproductive health, one of which is cervical cancer. Therefore, the author conducted counseling on the importance of maintaining women's reproductive health to PKK mothers in Pasar VI Kualanamu Village with the aim of increasing the knowledge of PKK mothers about the importance of maintaining women's reproductive health, so that later the information conveyed is expected to have a positive impact on the village about maintaining women's reproductive health, where it is known that PKK mothers are organizations that work directly with residents, especially women in the village. During the counseling, the method used was the lecture method. With 28 counseling participants. Counseling was carried out in several stages, including the activity process stage and the evaluation stage. This counseling activity was carried out on May 8, 2024 at the multipurpose building of Pasar 6 Kualanamu Village, Beringin District. From the results obtained, it is known that the percentage value of achievement in the final questionnaire of participants after counseling is mostly in the high to moderate range classification. From these data, it shows that the counseling carried out in Pasar 6 Kualanamu Village was able to increase the knowledge of counseling participants consisting of PKK mothers, with this it is hoped that the information conveyed will have a positive impact on the village about maintaining women's reproductive health, where it is known that PKK mothers are an organization that works directly with residents, especially women in the village
Counseling on the Negative Impacts of Frequent Glue Sniffing Behavior in Children and Adolescents
Repeatedly sniffing glue can cause serious negative impacts, both physically, psychologically, and socially. Medically, chemicals in glue such as toluene or other solvents can damage the central nervous system, cause respiratory disorders, liver and kidney damage, and reduce cognitive function. In the long term, this habit can have an impact on decreased learning ability, emotional disorders, and even a tendency towards criminal acts. Education and socialization about the negative impacts of sniffing glue need to be carried out continuously as a preventive measure. Therefore, the author conducted educational activities in the form of counseling about the negative impacts of frequent glue sniffing behavior on children and adolescents at LKP Universal Technology Computer. This activity is a community service activity that aims to provide children with an understanding of the dangers of using glue as a substance that is abused, as well as to encourage the formation of a healthy and safe environment for children's growth and development. Counseling activities are carried out using the lecture method as the main approach in delivering the material. The percentage value of the questionnaire acquisition of the counseling participants before being given the material exposure is still in the low to moderate range where the most in the low value group with the percentage value of the questionnaire acquisition achieved from the low value group is 85% (17 participants), the moderate value group is 15% (3 participants), while the high value group is 0%. (0 participants). Furthermore, the percentage value of the questionnaire acquisition of the counseling participants after being given the material exposure obtained an increase in knowledge, namely in the moderate to high range, where the most in the high value group, with the low value group being 0% (0 participants), in the moderate value group being 45% (9 participants), then in the high value group being 55% (11 participants). This shows that the counseling activities carried out are able to increase the knowledge of counseling participants about the negative impacts of the behavior of often sniffing glue. Furthermore, it is hoped that with the delivery of this material, counseling participants can avoid and not engage in deviant behavior such as often sniffing glue (ngelem)
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
