The Relationship Between Per Capita GDP Shares of OECD Countries and Their Sporting Achievements in the Olympics
For countries, success in the Olympics is often recognized as an indicator of
national pride and prestige. A country's success in the Olympics usually reflects
the strength of its sports infrastructure, the talent of its athletes, and the
support and incentives provided by the country to athletes. This study aims to
examine the relationship between OECD countries' success in the Olympic
Games and their GDP shares. Accordingly, the success of OECD countries in the
Olympic Games is associated with the number of medals. Therefore, the
relationship between the number of medals won and GDP shares was
investigated and the importance of the study was emphasized. In this context,
GDP shares were taken as the independent variable and the number of medals
obtained by the countries as the dependent variable. The findings were
analyzed with correlation analysis at 95% confidence interval. According to the
results of our study, it has been observed that countries with higher GDP shares
have more Olympic success and accordingly, it has been concluded that there is
a direct relationship between the two variables

Anahtar Kelimeler: HIV/AIDS, Türkiye, epidemiyoloji, önleme, kontrolSince the number of persons living with HIV/AIDS was relatively low compared to the hard-hit countries,
HIV/AIDS was not considered as an emerging health problem in Turkey. However Turkey carries a number
of factors which enable the spread of HIV/AIDS and the reported rates are accepted to be an underestimation
due to the drawbacks of the present surveillance system. This paper discusses the epidemiology of
HIV/AIDS in Turkey, factors influencing risk and prevention and the need concerning prevention and
control activities in order to address future challenges to combat the epidemic.

REGRESSION MODELS PERFORMANCE IN WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT
Water samples were taken for the 65-km drainage area of the Mudurnu River Basin and analyses were carried out. Changes were observed in the quality of water from upstream to down-stream. The aim of this study is to determine the water quality of Mudurnu River through water samples taken from 6 stations placed on Mudumu River for 6 months twice a month. The water quality parameters were analyzed in the water samples. Moreover, the correlations among water quality parameters were assessed using Regression Models. The Regression Model obtained in the regression analysis explained the Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen parameter with the highest rate. It was also understood that there was a highly significant positive correlation between Chemical Oxygen Demand and Biochemical Oxygen Demand
Molecular Epidemiology of AY.28 and AY.104 Delta Sub-lineages in Sri Lanka
BACKGROUND: The worst SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in Sri Lanka was due to the two Sri Lankan delta sub-lineages AY.28 and AY.104. We proceeded to further characterize the mutations and clinical disease severity of these two sub-lineages. METHODS: 705 delta SARS-CoV-2 genomes sequenced by our laboratory from mid-May to November 2021 using Illumina and Oxford Nanopore were included in the analysis. The clinical disease severity of 440/705 individuals were further analyzed to determine if infection with either AY.28 or AY.104 was associated with more severe disease. Sub-genomic RNA (sg-RNA) expression was analyzed using periscope. RESULTS: AY.28 was the dominant variant throughout the outbreak, accounting for 67.7% of infections during the peak of the outbreak. AY.28 had three lineage defining mutations in the spike protein: A222V (92.80%), A701S (88.06%), and A1078S (92.04%) and seven in the ORF1a: R24C, K634N, P1640L, A2994V, A3209V, V3718A, and T3750I. AY.104 was characterized by the high prevalence of T95I (90.81%) and T572L (65.01%) mutations in the spike protein and by the absence of P1640L (94.28%) in ORF1a with the presence of A1918V (98.58%) mutation. The mean sgRNA expression levels of ORF6 in AY.28 were significantly higher compared to AY.104 (p < 0.0001) and B.1.617.2 (p < 0.01). Also, ORF3a showed significantly higher sgRNA expression in AY.28 compared to AY.104 (p < 0.0001). There was no difference in the clinical disease severity or duration of hospitalization in individuals infected with these sub lineages. CONCLUSIONS: Therefore, AY.28 and AY.104 appear to have a fitness advantage over the parental delta variant (B.1.617.2), while AY.28 also had a higher expression of sg-RNA compared to other sub-lineages. The clinical implications of these should be further investigated
Optimization of the effects of wire EDM parameters on tolerances
In this study, the effects of cutting parameters on the dimensions and shape tolerances of components were investigated. Nine pieces of cubes with dimensions 10 x 10 mm were cut by using DIN 1.2316 (M303 extra) plastic mold steel. A Sumitomo Denko SBG-type wire with a 0.25 mm diameter was used. Table feed rate, pulse-on time and pulse-off time were used as machining parameters. The pulse-off time adjustment, maximum current of the main power supply, auxiliary power supply network, main power supply voltage, servo reference voltage, wire feed rate, wire tension and dielectric fluid circulation pressure were kept constant during the experiments. Three-dimensional coordinate measuring equipment was used to measure the tolerances of dimensions and shapes. Wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) parameters were optimized by using the Taguchi optimization technique. In order to optimize the wire electrical discharge process, the gray relational analysis (GRA) optimization method was used. The optimal machinability of DIN 1.2316 plastic mold steel for the wire electrical discharge process was successfully determined in this study. With GRA, the obtained optimum values were 9 mm/min table feed rate, 8 ms pulse-on time and 8 mu s pulse-off time
