Phytochemical, GC-MS Analysis, and Antibacterial Activity of Ethanol Extract Coir and Shell U Groh (Cocos nucifera L.)
No full textU Groh is a coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) in which the meat has not been formed yet, and its shell is consumed as a salad by the Acehnese people. This study aims to determine the phytochemicals, GC-MS analysis, and activity of coir and shell U Groh against S. aureus and E. coli bacteria. Chemical compounds were analyzed using reagents and GC-MS. Antibacterial activity was tested using well diffusion with concentrations of 5, 10, 20, and 40%. Coir and shells contain flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. GC-MS analysis shows the coir contains 20 compounds, among others Alpha. - Bisabololoxide B-Acetate, Hexadecanoic acid, Hexadecanoic acid methyl ester, 9 octadecenoic acid methyl ester, Stigmasterol, and gamma. -Sitosterol, whereas 16 compounds for the shell Hexadecanoic acid, Hexadecanoic acid methyl ester, and Stigmast-5-en-3-ol. The highest activity of coir and shell U Groh against E. coli and S. aureus was a concentration of 40%. The antibacterial activity of U Groh coir and shell extract was more effective in inhibiting S. aureus than E. coli. Coir ethanol extract and its shell formed inhibition zones with diameters of 13.7 mm and 13.4 mm, respectively, against S. aureus, and the diameters against E. coli were 11.3 mm and 11.03 mm, respectively. UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK ETANOL SABUT DAN TEMPURUNG U GROH (COCOS NUCIFERA L.) DALAM MENGHAMBAT PERTUMBUHAN BAKTERI ESCHERICHIA COLI DAN STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS
No full textABSTRAKUji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol sabut dan tempurung U groh (Cocos nucifera L.) terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak etanol sabut dan tempurung U groh dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri tersebut. Ekstrak diperoleh melalui metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol yang telah didestilasi. Hasil karakterisasi simplisia sabut dan tempurung U groh diperoleh kadar air sebesar 9,4% dan 8,5%, kadar sari larut air 20% dan 29,36%, kadar sari larut etanol 25,7% dan 18,24% dan kadar abu total 5,3% dan 8%, sedangkan ekstrak etanol sabut dan tempurung U groh diperoleh kadar air sebesar 14,13% dan 13,56%, kadar sari larut air 69,64% dan 74,62%, kadar sari larut etanol 70,47% dan 76,28% dan kadar abu total 5,56% dan 6,5%. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa kedua ekstrak mengandung senyawa flavonoid, tanin dan saponin. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode sumuran dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu 5; 10; 20 dan 40%. Aktivitas tertinggi ekstrak etanol sabut dan tempurung U groh terhadap E. coli dan S. aureus diperoleh pada konsentrasi 40%. Aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak sabut dan tempurung U groh lebih besar terhadap S. aureus daripada E. coli, dengan diameter zona hambat sabut dan tempurung pada S. aureus sebesar 13,7 mm dan 13,4 mm, sedangkan E. coli sebesar 11,3 mm dan 11,03 mm.Kata kunci: Antibakteri, Cocos nucifera L., ekstrak etanol, Escherichia coli, sabut, Staphylococcus aureus, tempurung, U groh

Higher derivative gravity from the universal renormalization group machine [The Asymptotic Safety Program for Quantum Gravity]
No full textWe study the renormalization group flow of higher derivative gravity, utilizing the functional renormalization group equation for the average action. Employing a recently proposed algorithm, termed the universal renormalization group machine, for solving the flow equation, all the universal features of the one-loop beta-functions are recovered. While the universal part of the beta-functions admits two fixed points, we explicitly show that the existence of one of them depends on the choice of regularization scheme, indicating that it is most probably unphysical

No full textOur knowledge regarding the urban planning of Aquileia and its development has significantly increased since the publication of the last comprehensive overview of this subject in the volume Aquileia moenibus et portu celeberrima in 2009. Indeed, over the previous decade, several new research projects have shone new light on the urban planning, func- tion, and development of Aquileia, adding much new data and evidence to our overall knowledge of the ancient colony and Adriatic emporium. This paper presents the most significant results of recent investigations, providing a first updated overview of the city’s urban development, focusing and commenting on the following themes: city walls and town planning, Forum and river port, entertainment and recreational buildings (theatre, amphitheatre and Imperial baths), commercial areas and complexes, private spaces and townhouses
