Storyworld, gesamtkunstwerk, art ecology: creating narrative geographies in the metaverse
This paper will bring together two terms originating from disciplines that at first glance may seem to be unrelated to artistic activity in Virtual Environments or Virtual Worlds: ‘Storyworld’ which is largely grounded in the field of Narratology, and Gesamtkunstwerk’ from the field of Aesthetics. These terms will be used as the theoretical framework that explicates on the creation of virtual, three dimensional ‘art ecologies’ for narrative purposes in virtual worlds. One such art ecology, created by the author, will be used as an example as to how such a narrative space has been built
Ф. СКОРИНЫ
The article considers the practical experience of mixed teaching first-year students the programming framework on the use of distance learning tool system DL.GSU.BY developed at the GSU. The main factors of increasing the intensity and quality of the learning process are illustrated: the integration of theory and practice, automated personalized learning, automatic knowledge testing, support and encouragement of independent work, automatic permanent visualization of the score sheet.
Applications of weak convergence for hedging of game options
In this paper we consider Dynkin's games with payoffs which are functions of an underlying process. Assuming extended weak convergence of underlying processes to a limit process we prove convergence Dynkin's games values corresponding to to the Dynkin's game value corresponding to . We use these results to approximate game options prices with path dependent payoffs in continuous time models by a sequence of game options prices in discrete time models which can be calculated by dynamical programming algorithms. In comparison to previous papers we work under more general convergence of underlying processes, as well as weaker conditions on the payoffs.
Trends in the Development of Basic Computer Education at Universities
Basic computer education in universities is experiencing huge problems. On the one hand, the amount of knowledge that a university graduate must have is increasing very quickly. On the other hand, the contingent of students varies greatly in terms of the level of training and motivation, and the level of this differentiation is constantly growing. As a result, the complexity of training and the percentage of dropouts increase. Scientists and educators are looking for a solution to these problems in the following areas: revising the knowledge necessary for obtaining at the university in the direction of the reality of their receipt in the allotted time; the use of new information technologies to simplify the learning process and improve its quality; development of the latest teaching methods that take into account the realities. This paper presents a strategic document in the field of computer education at universities - Computing Circulum 2020, as well as an overview of the areas of development of basic computer education, such as learning using artificial intelligence, virtual laboratories, microprocessor kits and robotics, WEB - systems for distance and blended learning, mobile application development, visual programming, gamification, computer architecture & organization, programming languages, learning technologies. In addition, the author gives his experience and vision of teaching basic computer education at universities
Chronological relationship between antisocial personality disorder and alcohol dependence
Personality disorders, and particularly antisocial personality disorder (ASPD), frequently co-occur with alcohol dependence. ASPD is considered to be an important cofactor in the pathogenesis and clinical course of alcohol dependence. The chronological relationship between the onset of symptoms of ASPD and alcohol-dependence characteristics has not yet been studied in great detail and the role of ASID in classification schemes of alcohol dependence as suggested by Cloninger and Schuckit has yet to be determined. We studied 55 alcohol-dependent patients to assess the prevalence and age at manifestation of ASPD, conduct disorder characteristics as well as alcohol dependence by employing the Semi-Structured Assessment for the Genetics of Alcoholism and the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IIIR. Results indicate that the onset of ASPD characteristics precede that of alcohol dependence by some 4 years. This finding suggests that in patients with ASPD, alcohol dependence might be a secondary syndrome as suggested by previous research. Copyright (C) 2002 S. Karger AG, Basel
