«An anomaly in Algardi's oeuvre»: Orfeo Boselli e la cappella Patrizi in S. Maria Maggiore
The accounts kept in the Millini fonds of the Serlupi Crescenzi Archive have allowed the author to redefine the stages of the construction of the Patrizi chapel in the basilica of S. Maria Maggiore. At the same time, it was possible to ascribe the two portraits of Costanzo and Patrizio Patrizi, previously attributed by critics to an anonymous sculptor and to Alessandro Algardi, to the hand of Orfeo Boselli. This rediscovery makes it possible to add two important pieces to the autonomous production of the Roman sculptor, known essentially for his work as a restorer of antique sculptures. In addition, the author proposes to identify a bust made by Orfeo Boselli in a private collection, already erroneously identified as an effigy of Paolo Giordano II Orsini, as a portrait of Torquato Alessandri, a friend of Boselli's who is depicted in his mature age and in old-fashioned clothes to honour his military career

Continuous Flow Telescoped Synthesis of Levetiracetam
Levetiracetam is one of the best sold antiepileptic drugs, and many efforts are done for the development of sustainable synthesis providing it. To develop innovative synthetic strategies, photocatalysis and flow chemistry emerges as victorious strategies. In this work, we report the development of a continuous flow telescoped process for the synthesis of Levetiracetam. The telescoped process is divided in three different stages, that are all merged in a single continuous process. In the first step the γ-lactam moiety is added to a cheap starting aldehyde through a photocatalytic strategy that enables the direct stereoselective introduction of the lactam ring, via nitrogen radicals. To the best of our knowledge, in the literature no example of nitrogen radical localized on lactam rings is described [1]: the innovative strategy proposed in this work, that combines photocatalysis and organocatalysis, was developed in our research group [2] by taking inspiration from a work of MacMillan and coworkers [3]. The desired aldehyde is obtained in a good yield and excellent enantiomeric excess. In the second stage, the continuous stream resulting from the first reaction stage is purified, using an in-line separator. Finally, in the third stage, the obtained aldehyde is oxidized to the corresponding amide, that represents the target compound itself.
Levetiracetam is achieved in a continuous telescoped process, with productivities and space-time yields improved respect to the corresponding conventional batch procedure, exploiting an innovative synthetic methodology not known in literature.

Specifically, early-type galaxies (ETG) have been the focus of several studies. In this paper, we combine results from two Herschel studies -a Virgo cluster study Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey (HeViCS) and a broader, low-redshift Herschel-Astrophysical Terahertz Large Area Survey (H-ATLAS)/Galaxy and Mass Assembly (GAMA) study -and contrast the dust and associated properties for similar mass galaxies. This comparison is motivated by differences in results exhibited between multiple Herschel studies of ETG. A comparison between consistent modified blackbody derived dust mass is carried out, revealing strong differences between the two samples in both dust mass and dust-to-stellar mass ratio. In particular, the HeViCS sample lacks massive ETG with as high a specific dust content as found in H-ATLAS. This is most likely connected with the difference in environment for the two samples. We calculate nearest neighbour environment densities in a consistent way, showing that H-ATLAS ETG occupy sparser regions of the local Universe, whereas HeViCS ETG occupy dense regions. This is also true for ETG that are not Herschel-detected but are in the Virgo and GAMA parent samples. Spectral energy distributions are fit to the panchromatic data. From these, we find that in H-ATLAS the specific star formation rate anticorrelates with stellar mass and reaches values as high as in our Galaxy. On the other hand HeViCS ETG appear to have little star formation. Based on the trends found here, H-ATLAS ETG are thought to have more extended star formation histories and a younger stellar population than HeViCS ETG.Peer reviewe

Continuous flow telescoped synthesis of Levetiracetam
Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1999. It is one of the best drugs sold, and many efforts are done for the development of new and more efficient synthesis providing this bioactive molecule.
To develop innovative synthetic strategies based on renewable and environmentally friendly resources, photocatalysis and flow chemistry emerges as victorious strategies to introduce novel and intriguing synthetic methodologies with reduced environmental impact and increased efficiency.
In this work, we report the development of a continuous flow telescoped process for the synthesis of Levetiracetam. The telescoped process is divided in three different stages, that are all merged in a single continuous process.
In the first step the β-lactam moiety is added to a cheap and abundant starting aldehyde through a photocatalytic strategy that enables the direct stereoselective introduction of the lactam ring, via nitrogen radicals.
