THE GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF M. CEBOTARI`S REPERTOIRE AND PERFORMING STYLE
The article contains information about the repertoire of M. Cebotari, a brilliant representative of the Moldovan and German vocal schools in the first half of the 20th century. The author analyzes her performance style and the total combination of methods and technique. In her stage career of 18 years, she performed with equal success coloratura, lyric, dramatic soprano as well as mezzo-soprano parts. A distinctive feature of the diva`s art was a unique fusion of a wide linguistic and stylistic range: which includes the music from the 18th – 20th centures of Italian, German, French and Russian composers. M. Cebotari was also one of the first „universal” singers in the world, combining on the stage a commitment in achieving perfection of vocal technique together with exceptional acting and her spectacular appearance
M. CEBOTARI AND R. STRAUSS: CHRONICLE OF PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL CONTACTS (1942–1949)
The article presents information organized in chronological order on the professional and personal contacts of M. Cebotari with R. Strauss in the last seven years of their lives (1942–1949). The development of military events during the war, as well as the advanced age of the maestro partially stopped relations between the two musicians. This period shows the fact that M. Cebotari not only maintained her interest in Straus`s vocal music, but also began to perform in new roles, adding to her repertoire the dramatic soprano parts. The article is well supported with quotes of the contemporaries, and with reviews from the newspapers of that time
THE MEMORY OF MARIA CEBOTARI IN HER HOMELAND
The article presents a number of the most significant events dedicated to the memory of our great compatriot M. Cebotari in the post-soviet period. These are meetings, concerts, the premiere of the documentary film „Aria” and other events. The author also analyses the causes of the disappearance of her name in her homeland during the Soviet era and describes the attempts of rehabilitating it today. The article also includes information about some of the most interesting projects, ment to study and promote M. Cebotari’s art in the Republic of Moldova, mentioning, in this context, the role of the works of N. Diduchenco and A. Danila
FROM THE HISTORY OF PERFORMING THE OPERA ARIADNE AUF NAXOS BY R. STRAUSS
The following article contains brief information about the opera Ariadne auf Naxos by R. Strauss, marking 100 years in 2016 since the opera was fi nished in 1916. It lists the most successful productions and their top performers. Th e article includes information, found by the author, about the performance of Ariadne`s part by M. Cebotari. Th ese were performances of the Vienna Opera in 1947, and the London festival of Richard Strauss`s music. Th e author also analyses M. Cebotari`s recording of the aria of Ariadne Es gibt ein Reich… with the orchestra of the Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by H. von Karajan, made some month before her death and which has become a standard of performing skills. Mention is made of the performance of arias from R. Strauss`s opera «Ariadne auf Naxos» at the National Philharmonic of Chisinau in the vocal-symphonic concerts, dedicated to the anniversaries of R. Strauss and M. Cebotari
THE FRENCH OPERA HEROINES IN THE INTERPRETATION OF MARIA CEBOTARI
M. Cebotari, besides her remarkable achievements obtained in the interpretation of the music of German, Italian and Russian composers, asserted herself completely as an outstanding performer of the leading roles in French operas. These results were obtained due to the compact and solid lyrical voice, the performing techniques in the agility and coloratura of the voice, the impeccable sense of style, and a perfect knowledge of the French language. Not only her unmistakable voice but also her special stage abilities contributed to the artistic realization of the prima donna, which helped her totally transform into the image of the characters she played. Here we can mention the following roles: Antoninaia in J. Off enbach`s Tales of Hoff man, Manon in the opera of the same name by J. Massenet, Carmen and Michaela in the opera Carmen by G. Bizet

December 2018, issue 10, pp. 6-16. ISSN 2537-6187.High skilled migration is an actual and important research topic, especially for Republic of Moldova. Moldova is a small, developing country which needs high skilled workforce for its future economic development. High skilled migration brings up an important question – is it necessary to regulate, control and limit this type of migration? To answer this question the author analyzes the existing activities and initiatives in this field, and the initiatives of Moldovan authorities to regulate and monitor this type of migration. Also the research looks to identify good practices and effective measures to legally regulate high skilled migration. For this purpose are examined the conclusions and data from different economic, sociological and legal sources. The identified information permits to conclude the lack of interest from Moldovan authorities to research this form of migration. Also it identifies the absence of initiatives for its regulation and control. In this context the article offers recommendations on what could be done to improve the existing situation

Comparison of Two Strategies for Aortic Valve-Sparing Root Replacement
Background: Since its introduction in 1992, multiple variations of the aortic valve-sparing David procedure technique have been described. Here, we present the short- and midterm outcomes of 2 centers using the straight tube graft (David-I) and the Valsalva prosthesis in patients who underwent isolated David procedure. Methods: Between March 2002 and October 2015, 232 patients underwent the David procedure at 2 European centers. Patients received either a straight tube graft (David-I, group A, n = 103, 74% men) or Valsalva graft (group B, n = 129, 85% men). Mean age was 47 ± 17 years in group A and 48 ± 17 years in group B (P =.916). Results: There were significantly more cusp repairs in group B (n=28, 22%) compared with group A (n = 4, 4%, P <.001). The 30-day mortality rate was 1% (n = 1) in group A and 2% (n = 2, P =.698) in group B. Postoperative echocardiography showed aortic insufficiency ≥II in 0% (n = 0) of group A and 17% (n = 21) of group B (P <.001). Follow-up comprised 1530 patient-years, and survival was comparable between the 2 groups (P =.799). Follow-up echocardiography showed aortic insufficiency ≥II in 22% (n = 15) of group A and 39% (n = 33) of group B (P <.026). The rates for aortic valve-related reoperation were 8% (n = 8) in group A and 13% (n = 16) in group B (P =.241). Logistic Cox regression analysis identified bicuspid aortic valve (odds ratio, 3.435; 95% confidence interval, 1.459-8.083, P =.005) and postoperative aortic insufficiency ≥II (odds ratio, 5.988; 95% confidence interval, 2.545-14.088, P <.001) as risk factors for aortic valve-related reoperation. Conclusions: The aortic valve-sparing David procedure has acceptable midterm results. Our results show that the David-I procedure with straight tube graft is not inferior to those performed with Valsalva prosthesis
