    No full text
This Bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. It refers to the topic The author?s book ? The image essay which is elaborated with the technique of editing of my own digital photographs with the aid of graphic programmes. The theoretical part deals with a historical development of the author?s book until present and includes the methods of creation of the image essay, graphic novels and comics. The practical part includes creation of my own author?s book as image reportage using the digital technology

Author´s Book - Daily Routine of Life

This thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and practical one, while themes of both parts are corresponding. Common theme of both parts is an idea of "author´s book". Theoretical part deals with a book and its conception: Language of a book; communication linked to that language; evolution of writing, which is the most used form of fixation of human speech; and future of a book in today´s electronic era. The thesis also deals with mapping of author´s book in the Czech Republic. The practical part is about creation of one's own author´s book - a journal. Its textual part is compiled using digitalization of typescript, which was subsequently edited. Visual part ranges from black-and-white photography to frottage and rollage

    An Author´s Existence

This bachelor´s thesis represents a sort of personal looking back vhich goes in two parallel lines - looking for oneself in artistic circles and looking for one own creative approach to the life and pedagogy. The work is divided into three parts. First part maps the author´s (not only) family background, in the second part the author leads us through a period of searching and trying to understand oneself through studying artistic and psychosomatic disciplines and the third integrating part concentrates on the present moment as a point of departure for work with the voice and voice pedagogy

ObhájenoThe Scream of Sodom is an author´s book containing the verses 20 to 33 from the 18th chapter of Genesis, the Holy Bible, which I have illustrated by the litographic graphic technique. The text as well as the illustrations are printed on the hand press. The book was created by the sewn binding

First results from the GlueX experiment

© 2016 Author(s). The GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab ran with its first commissioning beam in late 2014 and the spring of 2015. Data were collected on both plastic and liquid hydrogen targets, and much of the detector has been commissioned. All of the detector systems are now performing at or near design specifications and events are being fully reconstructed, including exclusive production of π0, η and ω mesons. Linearly-polarized photons were successfully produced through coherent bremsstrahlung and polarization transfer to the ρ has been observed

Development of a telepresence robot for medical consultation

© 2017 Author(s). There are numerous efforts to add value for telehealth applications in the country. In this study, the design of a telepresence doctor to facilitate remote medical consultations in the wards of Philippine General Hospital is proposed. This includes the design of a robot capable of performing a medical consultation with clear audio and video information for both ends. It also provides the operating doctor full control of the telepresence robot and gives a user-friendly interface for the controlling doctor. The results have shown that it provides a stable and reliable mobile medical service through the use of the telepresence robot

Pigmy resonances, transfer, and separable potentials

© 2017 Author(s). In this contribution we make a short review of recent progress on topics of current interest in nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics. In particular, we discuss a re-analysis of the extraction of the dipole response of the pigmy resonance in 68 Ni based on a continuum discretized coupled-channels calculation in relativistic Coulomb excitation experiments. We also discuss the forthcoming progresses made by our group on the Alt-Sandhas-Grassberber approach to (d,p) reactions and future expectations. The role of separable potentials in solving such equations with a test case based on applications of such potentials to phase-shift analysis is also presented

Processing of polyphenolic composites with supercritical fluid anti-solvent technology

© 2017 Author(s). Polyphenols have been developed, primarily exploiting their robust antioxidant properties, for medical and food applications. In spite of their advantages, polyphenolic compounds have drawbacks from their natural characteristics of being poorly soluble in aqueous solutions, thermo-labile and low oral bioavailaibility. In this article, strategy of processing with supercritical fluid (SCF) anti-solvent to improve the shortcomings is overviewed. Information obtained from the existing studies commonly confirms SCF technology applicability to produce composites of polyphenols with various morphology, size distributions and crystallinity. The application of SCF technology also enables to develop polyphenolic composites for alternative drug delivery such as in the pulmonary administrations

Study of cyclic thermal aging of tube type receivers as a function of the duration of the cycle

Publisher Copyright: © 2017 Author(s).The tube type receivers are exposed to variable duration cyclic operating conditions, which can jeopardize its reliability, and make it hard to estimate its long term performance. The designers have to deal with this problem and estimate the receiver long term performance based on the poor available litterature and the data sheets of the material. In order to help the designer better estimate the performance of the receivers, in this paper the cyclic thermal aging is analyzed as a function of the cycle duration. For this purpose, coated and uncoated Inconel alloy 625 tubular samples, similar to those used in the commercial receivers, are cyclically aged with different thermal cycle duration. The aging of these samples has been analyzed by means of oxidation kinetics, microstructure examination and mechanical and optical properties. The effect of the thermal cycle duration is studied and discussed by comparison of the results.Peer reviewe

Turkish Physical Society 32nd International Physics Congress, TPS 2016 -- 6 September 2016 through 9 September 2016 -- -- 126654The purpose of this research is to determine the university students' learning experiences about flipped-physics laboratory class. The research has been completed during the fall semester of 2015 at Computer Engineering Department of Istanbul Commerce University. In this research, also known as a teacher qualitative research design, action research method is preferred to use. The participants are ten people, including seven freshman and three junior year students of Computer Engineering Department. The research data was collected at the end of the semester with the focus group interview which includes structured and open-ended questions. And data was evaluated with categorical content analysis. According to the results, students have some similar and different learning experiences to flipped education method for physics laboratory class. © 2017 Author(s)
