    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    AbstractThe title of this research is "Social Control by Teachers on Students Who Aggression in Haruniya junior high school East Pontianak”. The problem in this study is how social control by teachers on student who aggression in Haruniya junior high school East Pontianak with sub-problem is how social control by teachers to students who aggression through socialization and punishment at Haruniya Junior High School. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection tool uses observation guidelines, interview guidelines and documentation studies. The results of the study show (1) preventive social control by the teacher on students who behave aggressively through socialization actions have been carried out by the teacher well, it is evident that the teacher always provides motivation, advice, patience, discipline, and reminds about school discipline (2) refresive social control by teachers to students who behave aggressively through punitive actions still not good because some teachers still apply negative penalties such as physical punishment, scolding and yelling at students. But, some teachers apply positive penalties such as doing assignments, writing, compliments and calling parents.Keywords: Social Control, Aggression Behavior, Socialization and Punishmen

    AbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the role of community leaders in dealing with terminal cafe activities in Paya Kumang Village, Delta Pawan District, Ketapang Regency in terms of persuasive control and coercive control. The research approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, documentation. Data collection tools used were observation guides, interview guides, and notebooks and archives. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis in the study was presented descriptively using four informants. The results of this study indicate that there is a role for community leaders in overcoming cafe activities through persuasive social control and coercive social control. The role of persuasive social control carried out by community leaders is by making rules and disseminating the rules that have been made, although not all cafe business owners heed these rules. In addition, the role of community leaders in exercising coercive social control is by monitoring after the rules are socialized and providing sanctions if the rules are violated.     AbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the application of the inquiry model by the teacher in sociology learning. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the application of the inquiry model in sociology subjects in class XI IIS was carried out well according to the steps of inquiry, namely in the teacher orientation process conveying learning topics, conveying learning objectives and the teacher conveying the steps for implementing the inquiry model. The teacher gives questions to encourage students to be able to formulate problems, students respond positively to teacher questions so that students are encouraged to submit hypotheses. The students seemed enthusiastic in collecting data by looking for and sorting data from various references according to the problem. The teacher guides students so that they have the courage to ask questions and provide opinions in the process of testing hypotheses and formulating conclusions.Keywords: Application Inquiry Model, Sociology Learning, High Schoo

    Abstract This thesis is titled “The effect of independent learning on the student’s outcome” as it  relates to the study of economics in Grade 10 at SMA Negeri 1 Tayan Hulu. This study’s goal is to know the impact of independent study on the student’s final performance in the study of Economics in grade 10 in SMA Negeri 1 Tayan Hulu.  The methodology that is used in this study is the descriptive method in regards to Interrelationship Studies. The data collection techniques used in this study are indirect communication techniques with data collect tools such as questionnaires and other documents. One of these documents are the final grades from the end of the second semester exam from grade 10 SMAN Tayan Hulu in 2018-2019. The participants of this study are 175 10th grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tayan Hulu while only 64 students are used as the sample of this study. Based on the data analysis technique, the regression equation used in this study is: Y = 61.192 + 0.204x. The results of test T prove that the value of T is > Table T which is 6.499 > 1.99879.  The determination coefficient (R2) is 0.403 which means the influence of independent learning on the student’s final performance is 40.3%.  Keywords: Independent learning, Learning Outcomes, the study of Economics at the SMA leve

    This study aims to describe the effectiveness of sociology learning with an online system in class XIIS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Bonti students The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative form. The source of data in this study are teachers of sociology subjects and students of class X IIS1 SMAN 1 Bonti and the data are the results of observations, interviews, and documentation related to sociology learning class X IIS 1 with an online system, the results of this study are known that during learning with an online system in sociology subjects, it was carried out using learning media in the form of WhatsApp and Facebook messenger applications. Where the teacher provides learning materials and learning assignments (homework) through the WhatsApp group and the assignments that have been obtained are then collected through Facebook messenger to the teacher. During the sociology learning process using online media was ineffective because class X IIS 1 students at SMA Negeri 1 Bonti still had difficulty connecting with adequate internet signals

     AbstractThis thesis entitled Influence Implementation Model Cooperative Learning STAD Against Learning In Learning Soiology at Class XI IIS SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. The general problem in this research is whether there is influence of STAD Cooperative Learning Model to student to study sociology at class XI IIS. This research uses experimental research method with experimental design Nonequivalent Control Group Pre-Test Post-Test Design.The population in this study were students of class XI IIS and the sample of class XI IIS 2 and XI IIS 3 which amounted to 82 students were taken by using simple random sampling technique. Measurement techniques with data collection tools in the form of test questions in 30 multiple choice questions and direct observation techniques with data collection tools in the form of performance instruments and activity sheets. Based on the result of data analysis,the mean of Post-Test in control class is 62,95 while mean of post-test in experiment class is 71,70.     AbstractThe research aimed to know the social interaction of committee organization with the members of the Catholik Students Family FKIP Untan Pontianak. The method was used descriptive. Data collection techniques was conducted with observations, interviews, and documentation. The tools of data collection was used observation guides, interview guides and documentation. The results of this study indicated that social interaction between the organization committee and members was carried out well: Mutual collaboration between organization committee and members of the committee, namely mutual assistance, help and community service, helping one of the members who carry out the Rosary at his home, community service the construction of a toilet in the Bukit Hati Kudus Hall, Darit.     AbstractThe thesis discussed “Pengendalian Sosial oleh Waka Kesiswaan Pada Siswa yang Tidak Melaksanakan Shalat Ashar Berjamaah di SMA Islamiyah Pontianak”. The problem of this research was that Social control by headmaster-vice by the student did not practice Ashar prayer in SMA Islamiyah Pontianak with the sub problems how the social control preventif, curative, repressive by headmaster-vice to the student did not practice Ashar prayer in SMA Islamiyah Pontianak. This research used descriptive method in qualitative. The result shoed that (1) preventive social control has been done by headmaster-vice. Before Ashar prayer, the vice-headmaster usually asked to the students and gave instruction to the students to Ashar prayer in the mosque; he gave verbally guidance when in Islam religion subject, and then counseled to his students that never Ashar prayer in the mosque. (2) Curative social control has been done by the vice-headmaster. The evidence that he would gave the warning to the students if they do not Ashar prayer together. (3) Repressive social control has been done by the vice-headmaster.
