Tyrimo atlikimo vieta – Algimanto Mieliausko ūkis, Balbieriškis, Prienų raj. Tyrimo tikslas – įvertinti kukurūzų, auginamų pašarui, taikomų agrotechnologinių sprendimų įtaką derliui ir kokybei. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Nustatyti, ar ankstyvesnė sėja duoda teigiamą efektą siloso kokybės parametrams. 2. Įvertinti skirtingos sėjos normos įtaką kukurūzų derlingumui. 3. Įvertinti skirtingo piktžolių naikinimo metodo įtaką derlingumui. Lauko kukurūzų auginimo bandymai atlikti 2019 metais Algimanto Mieliausko pienininkystės ūkyje, Prienų rajone. Bandymo objektas – dviejų hibridų ‘IDA MGT’ ir ‘TK202’ kukurūzai (Zea mays L.). Darbo metodas –Tiriama dviejų skirtingų kukurūzų veislių auginimo silosui galimybės, vertinamas sėjos tikslumas ir tankumas bei sėjos terminai bei skirtingų piktžolėtumo mažinimo įtaka kukurūzų derlingumui. Tyrimų metu nustatyta, kad paankstinus kukurūzų sėklų hibridų IDA MGT ir TK202 sėjos laiką, palyginti su vėlesne kukurūzų hibridų IDA MGT ir TK202 sėklų sėja, gaunamas silosas, turintis didesnį sausųjų medžiagų kiekį. Kukurūzų grūdų ADF bei krakmolo kiekis gautas didesnis, kai kukurūzų hibridų IDA MGT ir TK202 sėklų sėja buvo atlikta anksčiau. Didžiausias kukurūzų hibridų IDA MGT ir TK202 derlius gautas sėjant 80 000 vnt. sėklų hektare. Padidinus hibridų IDA MGT ir TK202 sėklų sėją iki 100 000 vnt./ha stebimas derliaus kritimas abiejų tirtų hibridų atveju. Vertinant skirtingų piktžolėtumo mažinimo būdų įtaką kukurūzų derlingumui, nustatyta, kad didesnis derlingumas gautas piktžoles naikinant herbicidiniu purškimu, o ne apdorojant mechaniniu būdu. Auginant IDA MGT derlingumas – kontrolė apie 5 t. ha-1, naikinant piktžoles mechaniniu būdu – derlingumas 9 t. ha ha-1, piktžoles naikinant herbicidais, derlingumas apie 10 t ha-1. Auginant hibridą TK202, derlingumas – kontrolė apie 5 t. ha-1, naikinant piktžoles mechaniniu būdu – derlingumas – 8 t ha-1, piktžoles naikinant herbicidais, derlingumas apie 9 t ha-1. Raktažodžiai: kukurūzai, sėjos tankumas, sėjos laikas, piktžolės, derlingumas.  Place of research – Algimantas Mieliauskas farm, Balbieriskis, Prienu district. The object of the research – is maize grown for cattle feed – for the production of silage. The aim of the study was – to evaluate the impact of agrotechnological solutions applied to the yield and quality of maize grown for cattle feed. Research tasks: 1. To determine whether earlier sowing has a positive effect on the final result. 2. To evaluate the influence of different sowing rate on maize yield. 3. To evaluate the influence of different weed control method on yield. Research methods – methods of observation, measurement, analysis of laboratory tests were performed. The final work investigates the possibilities of growing two different varieties of maize for silage, evaluating weed control with both herbicides and mechanical weed control, evaluating sowing accuracy and density and sowing time. One of the problems in growing maize is the control of weeds, the use of herbicides causes stress to the plants and this affects the vegetation of the plant and the final quantity and quality of the crop. Also, when crops are compacted, there is a struggle between plants and they overshadow each other in an effort to get more sunlight and nutrients in the soil. It is important to appreciate that maize is a heat-intensive crop and that its vegetation process takes a long time, so the paper examines the possibility of sowing maize earlier to prolong its vegetation period and to mature and produce richer, higher quality crops. Research results – It was found that different sowing rates affect the quantity and quality of the harvest. A study of the different sowing times of maize has shown that maize for silage can be sown earlier and yields a higher and better quality suitable for silage production. Conclusions and recommendations – it is recommended to use a mechanical method of weed control, to bring forward the sowing time of corn and to reduce the crop density.  Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas / Vytautas Magnus UniversityŽemės ūkio akademija / Agriculture AcademyAgronomijos fakultetas / Faculty of AgronomyAugalų biologijos ir maisto mokslų k. / Department of Plant Biology and Food Science

Tyrimo tikslas: Ištirti natūralaus mineralinio priedo įtaką pieninių karvių produktyvumui ir produkcijos kokybei. Tyrimo metodai. Tyrimo rezultatai. Bandymai parodė, kad šeriant karves tvartinio laikotarpio racionais 100 kg koncentruoto pašaro pridėjus 1,5 kg Kaolino miltelių per tris mėnesius primilžis padidėjo vidutiniškai 10,3 proc., pieno riebumas 0,09 proc., o baltymų kiekis piene 0,28 proc. lyginant su kontrolinės grupės karvėmis, kurios priedo negavo. Objective of the Thesis: To study the impact of natural mineral supplement on the productivity of dairy cows and production quality. Research methods. The impact of natural mineral supplement kaolin E559 on dairy cows during the fattening period was studied; two control and experimental groups of 10 cows each were formed. They were kept tethered during the fattening period and pastured during the grazing period. Kaolin E559 powder was added to the concentrated feed of the cows in the experimental group, 1.5 kg of kaolin E559 powder per 100 kg of feed. Results of the research: In our experiments, the addition of 1.5 kg of Kaolin powder to 100 kg of concentrated feed increased the milk yield by an average of 10.3%, the fat content in milk by 0.09% and the protein content in milk by 0.28% over three months when feeding cows during fattening period, compared to control cows that did not receive the supplement.Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas / Vytautas Magnus UniversityŽemės ūkio akademija / Agriculture AcademyAgronomijos fakultetas / Faculty of AgronomyAugalų biologijos ir maisto mokslų k. / Department of Plant Biology and Food Science

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
