Un hito en la historiografía portuguesa: el Portugal contemporaneo según Rui Ramos
No full textThis article presents and assesses the work of the Portuguese historian, Rui Ramos, considering it to be a major contribution to European historiography. This article evaluates this author�s methodological approaches and his revindication of narrative and political history, situating it in the context of the debates within new history. It then goes into further depth about the keys to interpretation that Rui Ramos proposed to understand the contemporary history of Portugal, comparing them with elements of Spanish history. Like the work of the author in question, this re-interpretation is above all focussed on the crisis of the constitutional monarchy (1890-1910) and the political life of the first republic (1910-1926), paying special attention to the problems of reconciling liberalism and democracy. Finally, it underlines the coherence that Rui Ramos� analytical perspective provides when analysing politics in Portugal during its transition to democracy.Este trabajo presenta y valora la obra del historiador portugués Rui Ramos, que el autor considera una aportación mayor en la historiografía europea. Primero evalúa las apuestas metodológicas de Rui Ramos y su reivindicación de la historia política y la narrativa, situándola en el contexto de los debates de la nueva historia. Después sigue pormenorizadamente las claves interpretativas que el autor portugués ha propuesto para comprender la historia del Portugal contemporáneo, contrastándolas con elementos de la historia española. Al igual que la obra del autor reseñado, esta reinterpretación se centra sobre todo en la crisis de la monarquía constitucional (1890-1910) y la vida política de la primera República (1910-1926), prestando especial atención a los problemas de conciliar el liberalismo y la democracia. Finalmente, se resalta la coherencia que la perspectiva analítica de Rui Ramos permite a la hora de analizar el Portugal político de la transición a la democracia

Get PDFRui Manuel Nascimento Lima Ramos, doutorado em Linguística, é professor do Instituto de Educação e pesquisador do Centro de Investigação em Estudos da Criança e do Centro de Estudos Humanísticos da Universidade do Minho, em Portugal. Desenvolve investigação em Linguística e em Ensino da língua. É autor de artigos, capítulos e livros; é editor-adjunto de uma revista científica de Linguística; e pertence a grupos de pesquisa no Brasil, inclusive o grupo em torno de ECO-REBEL. Tem experiência de trabalho em projetos de investigação relacionados com a língua e as crianças, e projetos de intervenção, especialmente em Timor-Leste e na Guiné-Bissau, relacionados com o ensino da língua e o sistema de ensino. Um dos seus objetos de análise tem sido o discurso acerca do ambiente, em diversos suportes, assunto sobre o qual publicou o livro O discurso do ambiente na imprensa e na escola: uma abordagem linguística (Lisboa: Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian/Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, 2009, 636 páginas), reelaboração de sua dissertação de doutoramento defendida na Universidade do Porto em 2006. Sobre sua produção em geral, ver, nomeadamente, Ramos (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2017a), Ramos & Ramos (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015). Participou do I Encontro Brasileiro de Ecolinguística (I EBE, UnB, 2012), de que uma seleção de trabalhos foi publicada em Cadernos de linguagem e sociedade v. 14, n. 1, 203 (sua contribuição é “O rei de Espanha foi caçar elefantes: a construção discursiva do evento nos media portugueses”, p. 17-40). A alta prevalência da Diabetes Mellitus e da Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica e suas complicações são um dos principais motivos de procura por consulta nas unidades de saúde. Com base na análise situacional o objetivo deste trabalho foi de melhorar a atenção à saúde do hipertenso e diabético da unidade básica de saúde Rui Ramos, Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF) 01, Uruguaiana/RS. A elaboração foi dividida em cinco etapas: análise situacional, análise estratégica, intervenção propriamente dita, que ocorreu em quatro meses, avaliação da intervenção e reflexão crítica sobre o processo de aprendizagem. Os objetivos específicos foram de ampliar a cobertura a hipertensos e/ou diabéticos, melhorar a qualidade da atenção a hipertensos e/ou diabéticos, melhorar a adesão de hipertensos e/ou diabéticos ao programa, melhorar o registro das informações, mapear hipertensos e diabéticos de risco para doença cardiovascular e promover a saúde de hipertensos e diabéticos. A intervenção teve duração de 16 semanas e ocorreu de 2 de novembro de 2014 a 22 de março de 2015, utilizando como base os cadernos de atenção básica do Ministério de Saúde e os instrumentos do curso que foram a ficha espelho e a planilha de coleta de dados. As atividades realizadas incluíram o cadastramento, o registro, atendimento clínico, avaliação de risco, ações de promoção à saúde, monitoramento e avaliação dos hipertensos e/ou diabéticos. Ao final da intervenção, foram cadastrados 60% (n=492) dos usuários hipertensos e 53% (n=135) dos usuários diabéticos, e todos os indicadores de qualidades ficaram próximos a 100%. Ao final da intervenção, além de aumentar a cobertura e aumentar a qualidade da atenção aos usuários, implementaram-se diversas ações anteriormente inexistentes, como um adequado acolhimento, agendamento preferencial, busca ativa, visita domiciliar e atividades coletivas de promoção à saúde voltado para as mudanças de estilo de vida. Constatou-se que tivemos um maior vínculo com a comunidade e que a intervenção teve grande impacto para o serviço, para a equipe e para o usuário diabético e/ou hipertenso
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
