In 2019, UNESCO inaugurated March 14 as the International Day of Mathematics in reference to the date resembling the Pi ( ) Number – 3.14 which is used toπ calculate the circle area that can be traced back to the ancient Babylonians from four centuries ago. 4. Not only that but March 14 is also the birthdate of Albert Einstein. Sadly, in the world of progress, it also marks the death of Stephen Hawking. These individuals have contributed massive remarkable discoveries in the study of the universe using mathematical physics. This is why today we celebrate and acknowledge the essential role mathematics plays in various aspects of our lives

Get PDFEksekutif ialah orang atau golongan yang mempunyai kuasa dan tanggungjawab berkaitan dengan pentadbiran dan pengurusan sesuatu organisasi. Sebut sahaja eksekutif kita sudah dapat membayangkan ciri-ciri eksklusif pada diri mereka, seperti pengunaan PDA (Personal Device Assistant) dan komputer bimbit yang selalu dikaitkan dengan mereka. Walau bagaimanapun kalau dilihat dari segi keperluan lain khasnya rekaan perabot masih kurang yang benar-benar dapat mencerminkan ciri-ciri seorang eksekutif itu sendiri terutamanya bagi eksekutif muda. Didalam kediaman seseorang eksekutif, perabot juga adalah salah satu keperluan yang dapat mencerminkan tentang ciri-ciri seseorang eksekutif. Oleh itu, dari kajian yang telah dijalankan, pembahagi ruang rumah adalah salah satu perabot yang bersesuaian untuk di hiasi sebagai rekaletak ruang hiasan didalam rumah. Kajian menunjukkan bahawa tiada lagi penggunaan pembahagi ruang rumah yang lebih berkonsepkan kepada seseorang eksekutif, jadi untuk rekaan ini ia lebih mementingkan rekabentuk yang ringkas, tampak elegan dan eksklusif di mana sesuai dengan seseorang eksekutif. Dari segi saiz pembahagi ruang rumah, rekaan ini lebih bersaiz sederhana dan sesuai dengan ruang rumah seseorang itu. Ini kerana seseorang yang berperwatakan mewah gemar dengan rekaan ringkas. Selain dari itu, dari hasil kajian responden, dalam pemilihan bahan, mereka lebih mementingkan bahan yang bermutu contohnya kayu yang lebih bersifat kepada natural. Kebanyakkan pembahagi ruang rumah yang berada dipasaran kini mempunyai ruang yang banyak digunakan, rumit dan padat. Sekiranya barang-barang di letakkan dipembahagi ruang rumah, ia lebih menampakkan lagi ruang rumah yang lebih berselerak dan tidak teratur. Didalam pemilihan perabot didalam rumah, ruang juga perlu dititiberatkan bagi menampakkan kediaman yang lebih luas dan selesa. Oleh itu, rekaan yang akan dihasilkan ini lebih berimejkan kepada identiti seseorang esksekutif agar tampak ringkas,elegan dan mewah
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
