Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDFFenomena pelaku tindak pidana narkotika di tengah kehidupan masyarakat dewasa ini, tidak hanya berasal dari orang dewasa namun, tidak sedikit anak terjerumus dalam tindak pidana narkotika. Penegakan hukum terhadap segala bentuk kejahatan harus ditegakkan, tidak terkecuali sanksi hukum dijatuhkan kepada anak yang berhadapan dengan hukum. Namun, cara penanganan kepada anak diperlakukan secara berbeda dibandingkan penanganan tindak pidana orang dewasa, saat ini upaya diversi dianggap pilihan terbaik bagi anak yang berhadapan dengan hukum namun dalam penerapannya kegagalan upaya diversi selalu ditemukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencoba melakukan kajian lebih lanjut pada konstruksi diversi dan akibat hukumnya dalam hal diversi gagal dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif melalui pendakatan undang-undang. Sumber data ialah data sekunder meliputi, bahan hukum primer juga sekunder yang dianalisis dengan kualitatif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian, pertama, bahwa diversi terhadap anak dengan pendekatan restorative justice telah dikontruksikan oleh UU SPPA berikut peraturan-peraturan sebagai pelaksanaannya. Kedua, diversi kepada anak yang terlibat tindak pidana narkotika yang tidak dilaksanakan atau gagal dilaksanakan berakibat hukum proses penyelesaiannya dilakukan melalui pengadilan yang dapat berujung pemidanaan terhadap anak

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Anthropocentrism and Environmental Crisis in Hujan Novel by Tere Liye: An Ecocritical Study of Human-Induced Environmental Damage
Get PDFThis study aims to reveal how human actions impact environmental damage as depicted in the novel Hujan by Tere Liye. The research design used a qualitative method, equipped with an ecocriticism theory of Anthropocentrism by Greg Garrard to explore the anthropocentrism in the novel. The results show; 1) The environmental damage: different kinds of environmental harm, including pollution, apocalypse, dwelling, and earth, with humans as the main cause and the impact that causes the ecosystem damage which eventually leads to extinction; 2) The environmental abuse: the role of humans in the destruction of the environment is reflected in the actions of destroying nature carried out by humans on the basis of the anthropocentrism paradigm; 3) The ecological ethics: the novel highlights the critical need for adhering to environmental wisdom, which includes maintaining harmony with nature, adopting sustainable practices, and considering long-term consequences of human actions.environmental values are embodied in the novel following the principles of environmental ethics

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

No full textPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengimplementasikan PBL dengan video untuk meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar matematika Kelas X MIPA 2 di SMAN 1 Minggir pada subte ma Eksponen dan Logaritma, 2) mengetahui kelebihan dan kekurangan pembelajaran PBL dengan video, dan 3) mengetahui efektifitas pelaksanaan PBL dengan video. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (CAR) yang dilakukan di kelas X MIPA 2, SMA Negeri 1 Minggir, Sleman, Yogyakarta pada semester pertama tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) penerapan PBL dengan video dapat meningkatkan minat belajar matematika, ditunjukkan oleh skor rata-rata 78,79%> 75%; dan peningkatan prestasi belajar matematika dari 27,27% pada siklus I menjadi 84,84% pada siklus II, 2) kekuatan penerapan PBL adalah dapat meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar, sedangkan kelemahannya hanya dapat diimplementasikan di antara siswa dengan motivasi tinggi, 3) Penerapan PBL dengan video merupakan cara yang efektif untuk meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar yang dapat dilihat pada tahap reaksi, tahap proses, tahap perilaku, dan tahap hasil. Dapat disimpulkan, penerapan PBL dengan video dapat meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar matematika kelas X MIPA 2 di SMAN 1 Minggir pada sub tema Eksponen dan Logaritma.  Implementation of the pbl model with videos to increase the interest and achievement of learning mathematics students of XMIPA 2 SMAN 1 Minggir on exponent learning and logaritma year 2016/2017 AbstractThis study aims at: 1) implementing PBL with video to increase the interest and math learning achievement of Grade X MIPA 2 at SMAN 1 Minggir on the sub theme of Exponents and Logarithms, 2) knowing the advantages and disanvantages of learning PBL with video, and 3) knowing the effectiveness of the implementation of PBL with video. This study is a classroom action research (CAR) which is conducted in Grade X MIPA 2, SMA Negeri 1 Minggir, Sleman, Yogyakarta in the first semester of the academic year of 2016/2017. The result of the study shows that: 1) implementing PBL with video can increase the interest in learning mathematics, indicated by an average score of 78.79% > 75%; and increasethe math learning achievementfrom 27.27% in the first cycle into 84.84% in the second cycle, 2) the strength of PBL implementation is that it can increase the interest and learning achievements, while the weakness of it is that it can only be implemented among the high motivated students, 3) implementing PBL with video is an effective way to increase the interest and learning achievements which can be seen at reaction stage, process stage, behavioral stage,and result stage.
