    No full text
Information Communication and Technology (ICT) can help to connect people with information faster. The author decided to share the knowledge of Hajj using IT to fully utilize advantages of IT. Real-Time Hajj Mobile Guidance (Hajj-G) is designed to provide real-time guidance to pilgrims in performing Hajj pillars and obligatory acts which is different from the existing Hajj systems in the market nowadays. Hajj- G is a proposed solution to solve the problems faced by some pilgrims during Hajj, where the pilgrims are often confused due to the numerous sequences of the Hajj riruals. This is due to the flexibility of choosing sequences of Hajj pillars to be performed. Based on the feedback from experienced Hajj Experts, getting manual guidance from Hajj experts is not convenient and the Hajj guidance book is not interactive and cannot help to effectively solve problems faced by the pilgrims. The objective of this project is to create a mobile checklist that is very cost-effective and easily accessible by most pilgrims. The application been developed using Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology. Android has been chosen as the mobile platform to optimize the capability of the Android technology and to leverage on its market potential. l

    Extended nodal analysis

    No full text
This paper presents an extension to the popular nodal and modified nodal formulation methods that allows elements whose characteristic functions include controlling variables, in addition to voltages and currents, other variables, such as charge, flux, and other physical parameters, to be included in the circuit equation formulation in a straightforward manner. Stamps, similar to nodal and modified nodal circuit element stamps, are developed to include these elements in the circuit matrix equation without the need of deriving equivalent circuit models consisting of interconnections of elements characterized only by currents and voltages, as in the current practice. The method is applied to derive circuit stamps of memristive, memcapacitive, meminductive, and other complex device models. The method reduces the size of the overall circuit matrix and allows easy model evaluation and linearization during the circuit iterative solution process. © 2011 IEEE.Biolek D, 2009, 2009 EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON CIRCUIT THEORY AND DESIGN, VOLS 1 AND 2, P249, DOI 10.1109-ECCTD.2009.5274934; Biolek D, 2011, ANALOG INTEGR CIRC S, V66, P129, DOI 10.1007-s10470-010-9505-5; Biolek D, 2010, ELECTRON LETT, V46, P520, DOI 10.1049-el.2010.0358; Biolek D, 2010, ELECTRON LETT, V46, P1428, DOI 10.1049-el.2010.2309; Biolek D, 2010, PROCEEDINGS OF THE 2010 IEEE ASIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE ON CIRCUIT AND SYSTEM (APCCAS), P800, DOI 10.1109-APCCAS.2010.5774993; CHUA LO, 1971, IEEE T CIRCUITS SYST, VCT18, P507, DOI 10.1109-TCT.1971.1083337; CHUA LO, 1976, P IEEE, V64, P209, DOI 10.1109-PROC.1976.10092; Desoer Charies A., 1969, BASIC CIRCUIT THEORY; Di Ventra M, 2009, P IEEE, V97, P1717, DOI 10.1109-JPROC.2009.2021077; Gear CW, 1971, NUMERICAL INITIAL VA; HACHTEL GD, 1971, IEEE T CIRCUITS SYST, VCT18, P101, DOI 10.1109-TCT.1971.1083223; HAJJ I, 1985, COMPUTATIONAL METHOD; HO CW, 1975, IEEE T CIRCUITS SYST, VCA22, P504; Joglekar YN, 2009, EUR J PHYS, V30, P661, DOI 10.1088-0143-0807-30-4-001; Kavehei O, 2010, P ROY SOC A-MATH PHY, V466, P2175, DOI 10.1098-rspa.2009.0553; Lambert J.D., 1991, NUMERICAL METHODS OR; Najm F. Networked Refugees

Almost 68.5 million refugees in the world today live in a protection gap, the chasm between protections stipulated in the Geneva Convention and the abrogation of those responsibilities by aid agencies. With dwindling humanitarian aid, how do refugee communities solve collective dilemmas? In Networked Refugees, Nadya Hajj finds that Palestinian refugees utilize information communication technology platforms to motivate reciprocity—a cooperative action marked by the mutual exchange of favors and services—and informally seek aid and connection with their transnational diaspora community. Based on surveys conducted with Palestinians throughout the diaspora, interviews with those inside the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in Lebanon, and data pulled from online community spaces, these findings pushback against the cynical idea that online organizing is fruitless, emphasizing instead the productivity of these digital networks. “With nuance, sensitivity, and fascinating connections across diverse social settings, Nadya Hajj offers a blueprint for how transnational networks can motivate reciprocity to solve communal problems.” WENDY PEARLMAN, author of Violence, Nonviolence, and the Palestinian National Movement “In this remarkable book, Hajj deploys her considerable theoretical and empirical gifts. This book is essential reading for anyone interested in understanding refugee experience.” TAREK MASOUD, coauthor of The Arab Spring: Pathways of Repression and Reform “Through stunning ethnographic and survey research, Hajj provides enormous insights into the way Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and the diaspora not only resist the destruction of their community but have found new ways of rebuilding it, challenging us to think differently about Palestinian refugees and their reimagined futures.” SARA ROY, Harvard Universit

    No full text
The main purpose of this research is to describe how the financial management of Hajj in Indonesia (BPKH) in performing its duties from 2018 to 2023. In this way, it will be clear what and how BPKH manages Hajj funds, which amount to hundreds of trillions of rupiah. The author analyzes the financial statements of BPKH from 2018 to 2023.The BPIH adjustment pattern, Bipih, and the value of benefits are secondary data that we use as the main raw material to see the performance of BPKH in managing Hajj funds. Then, the financial statements will be calculated annually so that the difference in net profit generated by BPKH will be seen. This research uses a qualitative approach. Researchers used secondary data in the form of books on Hajj financial management and BPKH annual financial reports as well as articles from relevant research findings. The method used in this article is library research using the systematic literature review (SLR) technique. The results of this study indicate that BPKH in managing Hajj funds in Indonesia still faces challenges in reporting transparency, internal control effectiveness, and compliance. The imbalance between benefit value receipts and BPIH subsidies has the potential to pose a liquidity risk and unsustainability of Hajj finances

The suitability ofothe management of Hajj funds to be invested inovarious infrastructure developmentoprojectsobasedoonosharia principles and laws and regulations can be a benefit. The use of hajj funds for infrastructure financing can increase the value of the benefits of hajj funds even though they contain risks. Therefore, the use of hajj funds to finance infrastructure investment requires further study. The author is interested in conducting a study of the suitability of the policy forotheomanagement (investment) of Hajj funds in infrastructure financing in relation to Law Number 34oof 2014 concerning Hajj Financial Management. The article uses descriptive narrative analysis method. Based on the review narrative literature and the Indonesia Government Policy during 2012 until 2020. The analysis used is top down by analyzing macro factors towards the study, especially innovation of infrastucture investment. The existence of this conformity will provide confidence that the interests of prospective pilgrims will always be prioritized. Based on conclusions research is: the price range of hajj finances may be invested to help financing/supplying infrastructure due to the fact hajj finance has the nature of being a deposit fund so that it resembles the use of the wadiah yadh dhamanah principle in an sharia finance attitude, making it possible for the Hajj Financial Control Agency (BPKH) to optimize the value of the benefits of the budget. And based on descriptive literature, the financial investment of hajj funds is aimed at obtaining optimal value for the benefit of improving the implementation of the hajj pilgrimage by prioritizing the security aspects of the prospective hajj pilgrims' funds

This paper presents an educational spreadsheet programs for calculating the convolution sum of two finite sequences. This convolution sum is accomplished using three different methods. After each method is presented, the procedure for computing the convolution sum is outlined, and the results are obtained for each of these cases. These explicit methods of calculation are proven to be well suited for an educational environment as characterized by their flexibility and simplicity. Moreover, when such software is used, they could make engineering studies more appealing to the students.ELHAJJ A, 1991, IEEE T EDUC, V34, P43, DOI 10.1109-13.79879; ELHAJJ A, 1992, IEE PROC-G, V139, P607; ELHAJJ A, 1995, J COMPUTER APPL ENG, V3, P205; ELHAJJ A, 1995, IEEE T EDUC, V38, P317, DOI 10.1109-13.473149; El-Hajj A., 1990, International Journal of Applied Engineering Education, V6; Kabalan KY, 1996, IEE P-SCI MEAS TECH, V143, P52, DOI 10.1049-ip-smt:19960020; Kabalan KY, 1997, SIMULATION, V68, P101, DOI 10.1177-003754979706800203; Kabaln K. The command word in the Qur'an (amr) is instructive, which contains that the command must be carried out. The thing that needs to be known is that the command word has other meanings than is mandatory, this is also called majazi. to find out, the author uses balaghi-style interpretations, namely at-Tahrir wa at-Tanwir by Thahir Ibnu ‘Asyur which is thick with language discussion. This study only discusses amr in Surah Al-Hajj. Because Surah Al-Hajj has special features such as there are verses about the Hajj as well as the name of the surah. This study aims to determine the form and type of amr contained in Surah Al-Hajj and its implications in the interpretation of Ibn ‘Asyur. Answering the subject matter, researchers used a descriptive qualitative method. To find out the form of amr found in Surah Al-Hajj, the author first collects verses that have command words in tafsir at-Tahrir wa at-Tanwir. Then classify amr based on the form and explain the type of amr and its implications in the interpretation of Ibn ‘Asyur. The results of this study indicate that amr in Surah Al-Hajj has two forms of siya> gh al-amr, namely fi'il amr and la> m al-amr which found 18 verses of command in Surah Al-Hajj these are divided into two types of amr first , that wajib found in QSAl-Hajj [22]: 1, 26, 27,28,29, 30, 34, 36, 37, 49, 67, 77 and 78. And second, majazi is found in QSAl-Hajj [22]: 15, 22, 24, 36 and 73. The meaning of majazi found among others is iha> nah}, irsya> d, ibah} ah, ta'ji> z, and ta'ji> b. And the type of amr implications for the interpretation of Ibn ‘Asyur are the prevailing command wants results shortly, the order applies continuously, the order applies if there are conditions, and the order applies at the right time
