No full textU okviru aktivnosti „Zoom Šabata“, u organizaciji Jevrejske opštine Beograd i neposrednoj tehničkoj realizaciji Rake-Rahamima Levija, 1.oktobra 2021. godine gost i predavač “Zooma” bila je Barbara Panić, kustos Jevrejskog istorijskog muzeja u Beogradu. Predavanje se odnosilo na dečje pozorište pod nazivom Povlašćeno pozorište za decu i omladinu „Roda“. Bio je to teatar u kojem su likove dece igrala deca, dok su uloge odraslih tumačili profesionalni glumci. Ovom prilkom je Rodinu pesmicu svirao i pevao Nikola Salaćanin.Barbara Panić, the curator of the Jewish Historical Museum in Belgrade, was the guest and lecturer at the "Zoom Shabbat" event on October 1, 2021, which was organised by the Jewish community of Belgrade with technical assistance from Raka-Raham Levi. She spoke about the "Roda" children's theatre, which is a unique venue for kids and young people. It was a theatre where professional actors played adult roles and children played children's characters. Bile acid structure and intestinal absorption in the animal model
No full textA close structure-activity relationship exists between the transport of bile acids (BA) in the liver and intestine; hepatic and intestinal BA transport can be evaluated and compared by using perfused liver and perfused intestine in the rabbit. The passive intestinal absorption is limited to the unconjugated BA, which occurs throughout the small bowel and colon, and is conditioned by the apical membrane lipid composition. A higher diffusion component is found in the terminal ileum compared to the jejunum, and seems to be related to the higher cholesterol-to-phospholipid ratio of the ileal brush border membranes. The active transport system is well characterized and the brush border membrane receptor, cytosolic BA binding proteins and basolateral anion exchange protein have been identified. Recently, the ileal BA transporter has been cloned from the hamster and human ileum and the main cytosolic BA binding protein was cloned from the rat ileum. In the liver, the active transport predominates on the passive diffusion both for conjugated and unconjugated BA. The maximal transport capacity in the liver is tenfold higher than in the intestine, while the Km values are of the same order of magnitude, i.e. in the millimolar range. Neither system operates at its maximum transport rate with prevalent concentrations of BA in portal blood or luminal content
New insights in the physiology and molecular basis of the intestinal bile acid absorption
No full textIntestinal bile acid absorption is a fundamental step in the enterohepatic circulation and metabolism of these endogenous compounds. The physiology of the active, sodium coupled transport system for bile acids in the terminal ileum has been extensively studied and characterized. Structure-activity studies have elucidated the requirements for the ileal transport system, and studies with photolabile bile acid derivatives identified the putative ileal bile acid transport proteins. Characterization of the functional sites of the transport system elucidated some of the possible mechanisms which allow the interaction of bile acids and sodium ions with the ileal transporter. Considerable progress has been made during recent years, after the ileal apical and cytosolic bile acid transport proteins have been cloned and characterized. The role of point mutations in bile acid malabsorption has been studied, and the knowledge of the amino acid sequence of the transport proteins will be of help in the investigation of the transport mechanisms
LONG-TERM SAFETY OF A DUAL REGIMEN OF RALTEGRAVIR AND RITONAVIR-BOOSTED PROTEASE INHIBITOR IN ARV-EXPERIENCED PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE
No full textObjective: to evaluate the long-term safety of a dual regimen of raltegravir (RAL) and ritonavir-boosted protease inhibitor (PI/r) in ARV experienced patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD)
Methods: prospective, single centre, study in patients on treatment with 2NRTI + PI/r who switched to RAL and PI/r because of CKD. Demographic, epidemiological, laboratory, viro-immunological data were collected using medical report database. Patients were required to have undetectable viral load at baseline and during the previous 12 months. CKD was defined on the basis of National Kidney Foundation Guidelines (2002).
Results: 8 patients were included: 7/1 male, median age 50 years. At baseline all patients had HIV RNA <40 copies/ml and median CD4 540 cells/mmc. 4/8 were receiving TDF/FTC as backbone and 4/8 ABC/3TC; 3/8 showed severe CKD (stage 4), and 5/8 moderate CKD (stage 3). Patients switched from 2NRTI to RAL maintaining the same PI/r (5 LPV/r, 2 DRV/r, 1 ATZ/r). After a median follow-up of 19 months all patients were on treatment. At the latest visit, median CD4 was 661/mmc, HIV RNA was below 40 copies/ml in all patients. 4/8 patients had a mild CKD (Stage 2), 3/8 moderate CKD (stage 3) and 1/8 maintained severe CKD (stage 4). No other clinical or laboratory adverse events were observed.
Conclusion: Our data suggest that dual regimen of RAL and PI/r could be an attractive and safe options in patients with chronic kidney disease. Limitation of this study is the low number of patients included. Further randomized clinical trials are needed in order to confirm the efficacy and safety of this strategy

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
No full textWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
