Competition and Cooperation in Social and Political
The book contains essays on current issues in Social and Political Sciences, such as the issues of governance and social order; social development and community development; global challenges and inequality; civil society and social movement; IT-based community and social transformation; poverty alleviation and corporate social responsibility; and gender issues. Asia and the Pacific are the particular regions that the conference focuses on as they have become new centers of social and political development. Therefore, this book covers areas that have been traditionally known as the social and political areas such as communication studies, political studies, governance studies, criminology, sociology, social welfare, anthropology and international relations. The book will help shed light on what social and political scholars in Asia and the Pacific have done in terms of research and knowledge development, as well as the new frontiers of research that have been explored and opening up, which can connect the two regions with the rest of the globe

Kelekatan Kelembagaan: Industri Distro Fesyen di Bandung
Artikel ini berupaya memperkaya perspektif dalam kajian industri kreatif, yakni cultural entrepreneurship, social contract, dan contextual knowledge, dengan menggunakan pendekatan institusional. Argumen utamanya adalah kelekatan kelembagaan memiliki peran sangat penting dalam mempromosikan distro fesyen kreatif di Bandung yang berdasarkan sejarah dikenal sebagai kota fesyen. Metode kualitatif digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dari berbagai narasumber. Studi ini mengungkapkan bahwa ketidaklekatan antara negara dan dunia bisnis fesyen kreatif dan dalam masyarakat fesyen menjadi sesuatu yang menonjol dalam bisnis yang berjalan. Akibatnya, kreativitas para pengusaha fesyen tidak mampu menjadi lebih baik dan organisasi bisnis yang dibangun secara internal sulit menjadi mapan. Perkembangan terbaru studi ini mengindikasikan para aktor ekonomi dengan modal besar dan pemerintah lokal mulai bekerja sama dengan industri fesyen distro. Perkembangan ini memberi kesan bahwa problematika ketidaklekatan dapat ditransformasikan dengan melekatkan negara sebagai pelaku bisnis sama halnya dengan melekatkan aktor dalam bisnis. Kedepannya distro fesyen kreatif di Bandung akan bergantung pada kekuatan perjuangan untuk melekatkan berhadapan ketidaklekatan negara, ekonomi, dan asosiasi yang menyokongnya
Kelekatan Kelembagaan: Industri Distro Fesyen di Bandung
This paper tries to enrich three perspectives for the study of creative industry, cultural entrepreneurship, social contract, and contextual knowledge, by employing an institutional approach and argues that institutional embbededness plays a vital role in promoting creative fashion distro (distribution store) in Bandung that historically well-known city of fashion. Qualitative method has been used to collect data from various informants. This study reveals that disembeddedness between state and creative fashion business and within society of fashion become a mayor feature of the business. As a consequence, creativity of fashion entrepreneurs unable to prosper and internal business organisation is difficult to mature. Recent development, however, indicates that big economic actors and local state begin to co-operate with industry of fashion distro. This development suggests that problems of disembeddedness can be transformed into embeding business actors-state as well as actors within the business. The future of creative fashion distro in Bandung will depend on the struggle of forces of embedding againt disembedding state, the economic, and the association tha support it

Dua Dunia Seni: Industri Kreatif Fesyen di Bandung dan Bali
Many countries, including Indonesia, have paid attention to support the development of creative industry. Economic sociologists and sociologits of art have done researches on dynamics of this industry for quite sometime. By employing concepts of Art World and institutional (social) networks, this study attempts to answer two important questions. First, how do dynamics of social relationships within Art Worlds occur in an arena of fashion creative industries in Bandung and Bali? Second, to what extent local government plays roles in the drive of development of this industry in both areas? The main focus of this study is distro fashion industry in Bandung and Balinese fine clothing in Bali. Extended case method has been used to collect data from various actors. Fifty key informants in each area have been interviewed. This study reveals that the Art Worlds of fashion industries in both areas need to re-invent themselves so that they are capable of inovating their methods of production and distribution. Moreover, local governments need to facilitate a constructive development of social networks among fashion producers. The future of creative fashion industry will depend on the maturity of social networks that signified by innovative cooperation between local governments and societies of fashion industries
