„El mole rachmim” / „El Male Rachamim”: Gomulicki, Tuwim, Linke

Autorka porównuje nawiązania do żydowskiej modlitwy El Male Rachamim (hebr. ‘Boże Pełen Miłosierdzia’): wiersz El mole rachmim Wiktora Gomulickiego, Ghetto Juliana Tuwima z Notatnika poetyckiego i powojenny rysunek Bronisława Linkego El mole rachmim. Zachodzą między nimi relacje intertekstualne, intersemiotyczne i interpersonalne (Tuwim umieścił utwór Gomulickiego w Księdze wierszy polskich XIX wieku; Linke ilustrował Bal w Operze; zapiska Ghetto zapowiada tekst My, Żydzi polscy). Co dzieje się z motywem wędrującym przez kody kulturowe i znakowe? Czy cezura Zagłady istotnie go odmienia? The author compares the references to the Jewish prayer El Male Rachamim (Hebrew for ‘God Full of Mercy’): El Male Rachmim by Wiktor Gomulicki, Julian Tuwim’s Ghetto from Notatnik poetycki and a post-war drawing by Bronisław Linke El male rachmim. There are intertext, intersemiotic and interpersonal relations happening between them (Tuwim included Gomulicki’s work in Księga wierszy polskich XIX wieku [A Book of Polish Verses of the 19th Century]; Linke illustrated Bal w Operze [Ball at the Opera]; a note in Ghetto announces text My, Żydzi polscy [We, Polish Jews]). What is happening with the motif wandering through cultural and character codes? Does the turning point of the Extinction indeed change it

Wer ist "arm"? Soziale Kategorisierung im Medium der Sprache

    No full text
Comparison of the KSČM and Die Linke in terms of un/acceptability of their participation on the national government

    No full text
This thesis focused on the question of the acceptability possibly unacceptability of Czech political party KSČM and the German political party Die Linke in terms of their participation in the national government. The paper describes attitudes of important and key stakeholders for this issue. That means attitudes inside of the researched parties, attitudes within social democratic parties in the Czech Republic and in Germany and the attitudes of other relevant parties in both above mentioned states. Subsequently, the results of this analysis are compared. Researched period begins in 2002 in the case of KSČM when the elections to the Chamber of Deputies were held in the Czech Republic and in the case of Die Linke since 2005 when there were elections to the Bundestag in Germany. The development is analyzed until 2014. The last peak of the analyze are the elections to the lower chambers of the Czech and German parliament which were both held in the fall of 2013. During the researched period it seemed several times that the conditions are relatively positive for the participation of KSČM or Die Linke in the national government, either directly or indirectly. But it never happened. There are more reasons for that. However the most important is that there has never been a sufficient number of actors on..

Learning from Lilo Linke: Unearthing Her Authentic Autobiographies for an Emancipatory Pedagogy

    No full text
This essay uncovers the once known but now obscure writer Lilo Linke (1906–63), her autobiographies based on her lived experiences, and her work for social justice across the geographies through which she journeyed. The author believes that it is necessary to excavate Linke's life to know what authentic authorship is and to read it as an emancipatory pedagogy of a life lived purposefully. © 2017 The Autobiography Society

Video data from video CTD deployments during POSEIDON cruise POS534, with links to files

The environmental background hydrography of the Goldeneye area North Sea was determined by a video guided water sampler rosette/CTD system. The system was used to perform vertical profiles along the water column and near seafloor observations via towing. The CTD system (SBE 9) unit included additional pH (SBE27), O2 (SBE43) and altimeter (PSA-916, Teledyne Benthos) sensors. On POS534 cruise, an HD-Video camera and light sources were attached to the lower part of the frame providing video footage of the near seafloor (Linke et al., 2015) during a gas release experiment at different CO2-release rates. Far field (background) data was recorded during VCTD stations 3-6 and 9-11. Near field measurements and video-observations were performed during VCTD 7, 8, and 12

Sound examples of an Impulse Pattern Formulation model synchronizing to different click tracks

    No full text
In the publication, supplemented by these sound examples, the Impulse Pattern Formulation is used to model the synchronization of musicians to a collective tempo. Several click tracks are numerically created, representing eighth notes played by a musician or a metronome for different tempo changes. By replacing every beat with a sound sample, audio files are created for a more musical evaluation of the results. The IPF is represented by a cowbell and the underlying click track with claves. Those sound files are in stereo, whereby the click track is at the left channel, and the IPF's signal is at the right channel. Thus, e.g., the balance potentiometer of a stereo system can be used to blend both sounds freely. A more in-depth description of how these sounds were synthesized can be found in the publication supplemented by these examples: Linke, S., Bader, R., & Mores, R. (2021). Modeling synchronization in human musical rhythms using Impulse Pattern Formulation (IPF). http://arxiv.org/pdf/2112.03218v1.NonPeerReviewe
