No full textRobert Anthony Prather was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. A 1976 graduate of that city’s Pike High School, Prather enrolled at Indiana University later that fall. He received his B.A. in forensic studies from Indiana in 1980 and then enrolled at the Indiana University School of Law. Prather received his JD from the law school in 1983.
Prather’s early legal career was spent as in-house counsel for a variety of corporations, including Ameritech, Firestone Building Products, Firestone Industrial Products, and Firestone Polymers. In 2001, he joined the Indianapolis offices of the firm Barnes & Thornburg, LLP, where he represented management interests in a variety of labor and employment litigation. Additionally, Prather represented judges, lawyers, and other professionals in disciplinary and licensing issues and other matters of professional responsibility. He twice served on the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission. In February of 2022, Prather was named Indiana University Vice President and General Counsel.
Long a supporter of the law school, Prather has served as a member of the school’s Black Law School Student Association Advisory Board since 2005; as a member of the school’s Alumni Board (1993-1997; 2015- ); and as a member of the Maurer School of Law Board of Visitors (2008-2012). Prather received the Indiana Lawyer Leadership in Law Distinguished Barristers Award in 2018, as well as the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Distinguished Service Award in 2015 and was inducted into the Law School’s Academy of Law Alumni Fellows in 2021.https://www.repository.law.indiana.edu/notablealumni/1228/thumbnail.jp

Get PDFBIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Robert Anthony Roy is an Italian American born on June 22nd, 1948. He grew up living with his parents, grandparents, two sisters, and a brother in Falcon Heights. Roy’s dad was involved in sales. His mother was a stay-at-home-mom. Roy is Catholic. SUBJECTS DISCUSSED: Roy talks about growing up in a tight-knit Italian-American family in the Twin Cities. Roy describes the family\u27s traditions, including Sunday feasts and attending Catholic school, as well as the family structure with a stay-at-home mom and grandparents living in the same house. Roy tells of his strict Catholic upbringing. He still identifies as Catholic and raised his boys Catholic. Roy describes his childhood growing up in Falcon Heights, describing the free reign kids had and various activities done with that free time. Roy reflects on the sense of community felt by his neighbors and the respect for elders held by children. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
