Latex Allergy: Current Status and Future Perspectives
Allergy to natural rubber latex (NRLA) from Hevea brasiliensis is a relevant public health issue, in particular in healthcare workers and groups at risk. Clinical manifestations of NRLA can range from mild skin disorders to life-threatening systemic reactions. Prevention measures remain the gold-standard treatment for patients suffering from NRLA, but the only etiological therapy able to influence the natural history of NRLA is specific desensitization. This review aims to underline the epidemiological, clinical and diagnostic aspects of NRLA, and carries out a complete and wide-ranging review of the current literature on NRLA management and immunotherap

Allergy to Timolol Contained in Eyedrops for Glaucoma
Abstract
Background: Allergic eyelid dermatitis is a common but often misdiagnosed disease that is related to eyedrops, topical cosmetics or skin care products. With regard to eyedrops, adverse reactions can be caused by both active ingredients and excipients. Identification and elimination of causative agents is the mainstay of management.
Patient and Methods: We describe the case of a woman who had been suffering from eyelid and peripalpebral dermatitis for four months. To treat her glaucoma, for a year she used several eyedrops for one year, switched by the ophthalmologist several times. She has also been reported oculorhinitis in March for some years. The patient underwent an allergological work-up consisting in prick test for inhalant allergens and patch tests with the G.I.R.D.C.A. series, benzalkonium chloride 0.1% aq., all the involved eyedrops and additional eyedrops ‘as is’.
Results: The patch test for the G.I.R.D.C.A. series and benzalkonium chloride as well as prick tests for the main inhalant allergens were negative. Only patch test performed for eyedrops containing timolol - alone or in association with other active ingredients - gave a positive response.
Conclusion: In our patient with eyelid and peripalpebral dermatitis, we have ruled out an allergy to the most common contact and inhalant allergens, while we have identified a cell-mediated hypersensitivity to timolol among the several eyedrop used by the patient
Molecular Beam Epitaxy Growth of GaN/InGaN Heterostructures under In‐Bilayer Stabilized Conditions
Molecular beam epitaxy is applied for the GaN/InGaN growth under In‐bilayer stabilized conditions, which require substrate temperatures above 580 °C for sufficient indium desorption. Under these conditions the indium content is limited to , as determined by a novel reflection high energy electron diffraction technique, which is based on indium adsorption and subsequent consumption at varying gallium flux. As‐grown structures show degraded surfaces after indium desorption. This effect is eliminated by applying excess gallium before and after InGaN growth, which results in morphologies and dislocation densities comparable to GaN/AlGaN structures
Molecular beam epitaxy of 2H-TaS 2 few-layers on GaN(0001)
Abstract 2H-TaS 2 few layers have been grown epitaxially onto GaN(0001). A high substrate growth temperature of 825 ∘ C induces best structural properties of the overlayer, as revealed by in-situ electron diffraction (RHEED and LEED). The 2D-overlayer grows unstrained right after deposition of a monolayer. However, evidence of pits at the interface is provided by scanning transmission electron microscopy, most probably due to GaN thermal decomposition at the high growth temperature. In-situ x-ray photoemission spectroscopy shows core level shifts that are consistently related to electron transfer from the n-GaN(0001) to the 2H-TaS 2 epitaxial layer as well as the formation of a high concentration of nitrogen vacancies close to the interface. Further, no chemical reaction at the interface between the substrate and the grown TaS 2 overlayer is deduced from x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, which corroborates the possibility of integration of 2D 2H-TaS 2 with an important 3D semiconducting material like GaN

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
