    Ramli Abdul Wahid and His Thought on Islamic Education. This paper discusses the biography of Ramli Abdul Wahid, a North Sumatra scholar who has multidisciplinary thinking. He is a Hadith expert, but discusses various disciplines and one of them is Islamic education. This research is a qualitative research with a character study approach. From the research conducted, the author concludes that Ramli Abdul Wahid's Islamic education thinking is motivated by his educational history and his position as chairman of the fatwa commission at the Indonesian Ulama Council of North Sumatra (MUI SU) and Al-Jam'iyatul Washliyah Medan. Therefore, the orientation of Islamic education according to him is that it must be in accordance with Islamic values based on the Qur'an and Hadith

    Factors influencing students' interest in learning Mathematics among Year 4 pupils in SK Matu Baru, Kuching / Salwani Ramli

    Objectives of this research are to identify the factors that influence students’ interest in learning mathematic. Besides, this research also identify whether students ' achievement are influenced by their interest in mathematics. Research respondents are $6 students from 4 different class of year 4 at SK Matu Baru, Petra Jaya, Kuching, Sarawak. Samples are chosen according to Krejcie and Morgan table. This research used questionnaire that contains 28 items. For significant test, author use Descriptive Statistic and Descriptive T-test examination with SPSS software version 21.0.The results shows that interest in mathematic does not have significant relationship meanwhile parents influence have significant relationship in students interest in mathematics. The results also shows that interest in mathematic does not influence students achievement. As conclusion, the results prove that parents role and concerns are important in improving students interest in mathematic. So, knowing the parents role in improving students’ interest are important and need to be stress. Besides, teachers also must play their role at school with creative and innovative teaching and learning plan prepared so that students would not get bored and be more interested in learning mathematic

    Morphometric data of tachypleus gigas and carcinoscorpius rotundicauda from Pahang Balok River, Malaysia

    This study discovers new findings, prepares and compiles new information and database regarding horseshoe crab (HSC) especially morphometric of T. gigas and C. rotundicauda in Balok, Kuantan, Pahang. There are two stations during sampling for collecting the data. One station is at mangrove and another one station is at the beach. For each individual HSC, the sex, weight, and morphometric were taken. The process was repeated in approximately 2 hours during newly high tide. Findings indicate that male T. gigas is 31% smaller than the female in terms of size. In contrast, the male C. rotundicauda is 20% smaller than the female. Horseshoe crabs can range in size from 290 to 1200 grammes and 230 to 516 millimeters for female T. gigas, and from 180 to 420 grammes and 244 to 378 millimeters for male T. gigas. The size ranges for male and female C. rotundicauda are 100 to 260 grammes and 269 to 337 millimeters, respectively. The morphometric data are vital for monitoring and studying horseshoe crab growth and relations among various parts of their body. The compilation of morphometric data could also help to enhance the conservation of marine biological diversity activities. This study should be done rapidly to monitor the survivors and changes happening in the environment. Yet, year-round monitoring is important to establish the morphometric study of HSC

    Corrosion may be broadly defined as the degradation of a material by its environment. The definition would properly include metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites; however, classical corrosion studies deal with the dissolution of metals. All metallic corrosion processes have their basis, electrochemical reactions. Some corrosion mechanisms are primarily electrochemical, whereas other requires the interaction of electrochemical and mechanical forces. There is practically no material, which is corrosion resistant to any corrosive agent. The only question is how much is chosen material] is stable for particular material-corrosive agent combustion. Most of the practically important corrosion processes (95% or more) occurred in the combination material-ion containing corrosive agent with water and some other dipole solvent. In such circumstances the processes are electrochemical, i.e., they involve the action of charged particles-ions and electrons. The other 5% of corrosion processes occurring in the presence of an aggressive gaseous phase, most often at higher temperatures, and their problems a discussed in this paper. For the theory of corrosion will be describe in the next topic in this report. In this project, author objective is to determine the type of corrosion that occurs in the mechanical workshop located at UiTM Arau. The determination of corrosion is done by using human eye and the condition of the surface of equipment or material. The surface difference is important in determining the type of corrosion. For the prevention of this project it is quit easy because it can applicable in all kinds of corrosion

    Background: Chitin and chitosan from the exoskeleton of horseshoe crab was reported to have a comparable quality to commercial chitosan. It would become a good alternative for the existing chitosan in the market. Nonetheless, inefficient isolation processes could lead to a waste to this invaluable raw material and incur additional cost. Chitosan isolated from the raw chitin could be affected by the frequency of deacetylation process. At the same time, horseshoe crabs, as known as a living fossil, must be exploited sustainably. Objective: Thus, it is important to determine if a single deacetylation process can satisfy the quality and amount of extracted chitosan from the exoskeleton. Methods: In this experiment, exoskeletons of horseshoe crab were obtained from two different area (Balok in the South China Sea coast and Muar in the Straits of Malacca) and processed through several steps of grinding, deproteinization and demineralization before went through a single and double process of deacetylation using 50% NaOH. FT-IR spectra were analysed to ensure the completion of deacetylation process. Statistical analysis was done using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 22. The data were presented as mean ± standard deviation (SD). The p value was obtained from the independent-samples T-Test analysis with p < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Percentage of chitin and chitosan isolated does not have a significant difference (p>0.05) between Balok and Muar. Nonetheless, the degree of deacetylation is significantly different (p<0.05) between the study sites despite the insignificant difference between single and double deacetylation processes. Conclusion: The results suggest that a double process of deacetylation would be efficient to produce chitosan from chitin extracted from the horseshoe crab exoskeleton. The yield was significantly higher when using samples from Balok than Muar which could be related to some other factors that should be further investigated

A salient factor responsible for this is the governing law for such financing paradigm. It is however contestable whether the workability of Islamic banking hinges on dedicated governing laws, amended subsisting laws or existing laws. In other words, is the existing legal (conventional) infrastructure adequate for any Islamic finance jurisdiction, or is there a need for a separate governing law? It is evident that this question is pertinent, vexed and has far-reaching implications. This article seeks to attend to this question in a very concise manner. Thus, the author forms an opinion common-sensibly resorting to comparative analysis, with or without judgements as well as real world country case studies
