From Helmut Jürgensen’s former students: The game of informatics

    No full text
Personal reflections are given on being students of Helmut Jürgensen. Then, we attempt to address his hypothesis that informatics follows trend-like behaviours through the use of a content analysis of university job advertisements, and then via simulation techniques from the area of quantitative economics

The article presents the figure of Helmut E. Luck, well-known scientist in the world of historians of psychology. Helmut E. Luck also is well-known in Poland, as the author or the scientific editor of several books in the field of history of psychology. In the first part of the article the short presentation of his scientific career and his scientific achievements are demonstrated. The second part comprises the analysis of his opinions in the scope of social psychology. Helmut E. Luck was the one of pioneers in psychology, who paid attention to social positive phenomena or social positive behaviors. In the field of history of psychology, H.E.Luck made the contribution to methodological analysis of psychological ideas in history, preferring the model which underlines connection of psychology with culture and at the same time creates the opportunity to analysis of biographical plots. The article also shows unquestionable and unusually merits of Luck’s in popularization of knowledge about history of psychology. The article presents the figure of Helmut E. monitor Versorgungsforschung / Versorgungslage von Schluckstörungen in Pflegeheimen – Herausforderungen und Notwendigkeiten

A healthy person swallows up to 2000 times a day without thinking about it. Ageing processes jeopardise the sufficiency of the act of swallowing: swallowing disorders in nursing homes are underdiagnosed, their effects underestimated, yet their complications are the most frequent cause of death there. A closer look reveals a devastating picture of care. This paper outlines the current challenges of data inaccuracy, the lack of diagnostic and therapeutic care and outlines possible innovative forms of care and their implementationin a care pathway to be developed.Robert Darkow, Tonja Ofner, Frank Amort, Helmut Ritschl, Felix Mühlensiepen, Susann MayVersion of recor

    Structural Dynamic Conditional Correlation

    No full text
In the literature of identifcation through autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity, Weber (2008) developed the structural constant conditional correlation (SCCC) model. Besides determining linear simultaneous in uences between several variables, this model considers interaction in the structural innovations. Even though this allows for common fundamental driving forces, these cannot explain time variation in correlations of observed variables, which still have to rely on causal transmission eects. In this context, the present paper extends the analysis to structural dynamic conditional correlation (SDCC). The additional fexibility is shown to make an important contribution in the estimation of empirical real-data examples.Simultaneity, Identifcation, EGARCH, DCC
