Salah satu keterampilan yang dibutuhkan dalam dunia pendidikan di abad 21 ini ialah keterampilan pemecahan masalah yang dapat dimunculkan melalui berbagai macam model pembelajaran salah satunya pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL). Selain dapat memunculkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah, model pembelajaran berbasis masalah ini juga dapat mempengaruhi berpikir kognitif peserta didik. Proses pengembangan ini mengikuti metode pengembangan Lee & Owen (2004) yang terdiri atas analisis kebutuhan, desain, pengembangan dan implementasi serta evaluasi. Materi yang digunakan yaitu dampak perubahan lingkungan karena menurut guru biologi dari kelas sasaran, beliau seringkali menggunakan metode PBL pada materi tersebut. Namun ketika diadakan tes awal serta observasi, keterampilan pemecahan masalah peserta didik serta hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik masih kurang. Hasil validasi yang dilakukan oleh ahli materi menunjukkan persentase rerata sebesar 88,91 % (sangat valid). Untuk validasi oleh ahli media memiliki persentase rerata sebesar 96,35% (sangat valid) serta validasi dari praktisi lapangan sebesar 85,22 % (sangat valid). Pada validasi kepraktisan menunjukkan persentase rerata sebesar 91,12 % (sangat praktis). Hasil uji t pada pretest-postest hasil belajar kognitif menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,00 pada nilai probabilitas yang kurang dari nilai α (0,05) yang menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan pada sebelum dan sesudah implementasi. Perbedaan tersebut diukur dengan n-gain yang menghasilkan skor sebesar 0,64 yang berarti memiliki peningkatan sedang. Pada uji t pretest-posttest keterampilan peemecahan masalah, nilai probabilitas memiliki nilai sebesar 0,00 yang berarti kurang dari α (0,05) yang menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan antara sebelum dan sesudah implementasi. Hasil uji n-gain menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,61 yang menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan keterampilan pemecahan masalah bersifat sedang. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, maka multimedia interaktif yang dikembangkan sudah layak sebagai media pembelajaran dan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah serta hasil belajar kognitif pada materi dampak perubahan lingkungan kelas X di SMA Panjura Malang
Effective Strategies for Increasing Citation Frequency
Due to the effect of citation impact on The Higher Education (THE) world university ranking system, most of the researchers are looking for some helpful techniques to increase their citation record. This paper by reviewing the relevant articles extracts 33 different ways for increasing the citations possibilities. The results show that the article visibility has tended to receive more download and citations. This is probably the first study to collect over 30 different ways to improve the citation record. Further study is needed to explore and expand these techniques in specific fields of study in order to make the results more precisely
Data-Driven based Fault Detection and Diagnosis for Vapor Compression Chillers
Refrigeration is a fast-growing industry and has become an integral part of various industries such as food storage, pharmaceutical, residential, chemical, and data centers. Rising global temperatures have increased the need for more energy-efficient and environmentally conscious refrigeration systems. A consistent functioning refrigeration system requires good fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) system to detect faults before failures occur. A good FDD system can help reduce maintenance costs and increase energy savings. The refrigerant present in the chillers consists of greenhouse gases. Certain faults, such as refrigerant leakage, result in the release of refrigerant into the atmosphere, which has an environmental impact. Hence, an effective FDD system for chillers is important for accurately detecting and diagnosing faults. This thesis aims to build a data-driven FDD system for vapor-compression chillers. The purpose of this thesis is to address the variable operating conditions and fault conditions that occur during the operation of a chiller system. The operating conditions vary depending on the control logic, climate, and other factors that can occur in a system with multiple components. Faults can occur to varying degrees within a system. Early fault detection and diagnosis lead to prompt maintenance dispatching. It is imperative that an FDD system accommodates these conditions and accurately detect faults.
This thesis uses two types of data to build an FDD model. The experimental data provided by ASHRAE RP-1043, which contained both normal and fault conditions, were used. The ASHRAE dataset contains normal conditions and seven fault conditions at the four severity levels. Other types of data used were simulated data generated using the ASHRAE RP-1043 model and a small chiller model developed by the author. Simulated data supplemented the experimental dataset with different normal operating conditions and fault severity levels. A hybrid architecture consisting of a dimensionality reduction method and classifier was proposed. This architecture facilitates the comparison of machine learning and deep learning techniques, and may be employed to develop a hybrid model that incorporates both approaches. Time series data was used to train and test this architecture. A deviation matrix method, which is a preprocessing method applied to the training and testing datasets, was proposed. This method was used with steady-state data to develop a 2D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The deviation matrix method proved effective for machine learning and deep learning models to detect and diagnose faults for different normal and fault severity levels.
A study using steady-state time-series data and complete test cycle data was conducted to build and test the hybrid architecture. It was concluded that using steady-state time-series data yielded a higher classification accuracy for faults. The deviation matrix method was applied to the simulation and experimental data, and 2D CNN, ANN, and SVM were used to study these datasets. It was concluded that some parts of the training data could be substituted with the simulation data to obtain acceptable classification accuracy. The 2D CNN, ANN, and SVM were able to diagnose faults in the test data containing different severity levels from the training set and small-chiller data. PERLUASAN KEWENANGAN BPK DALAM MENGAWASI KEUANGAN NEGARA DI LINGKUP PEMERINTAHAN DAERAH
State budget management is tightly related to how the existing state law regulates fiscal relationship between the central government and the regional-local governments. The authority granted to regional-local government to manage their own budgeting more or less autonomously in practice results in mismanagement, misuse of available financial resources and even corruption. Unfettered and unchecked financial leakage at the regional government level may and have resulted in failure to realize and implement projects much needed by society. In light of this situation, a justified need arise for state intervention to monitor-control planning and realization of regional-local government budget. The author proposed the expansion of the Audit Board of the Republic Indonesia’s authority. They should not passively wait for financial reports to be submitted but actively assist regional-local government in planning their own budget, monitor the spending and realization of it and lastly, provide assistance in drafting the final report.
Electroconvulsive therapy for a patient with suicide by drinking bleach during treatment of COVID-19: A case report
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) was first experienced in 1938 and had been conducting without anesthesia for 30 years. In this study, the most common indication for ECT was mood disorder (major depressive disorder and bipolar I disorder). We introduce a patient with a history of COVID-19 and suicide who required emergency ECT. Electroconvulsive therapy can be life-saving in patients with suicide history or catatonic schizophrenia. Health workers are at the front line of the COVID-19 outbreak control and must follow health instructions. Aerosol-producing procedures such as suction in anesthesia for ECT may facilitate the transmission of infectious diseases such as COVID-19. When performing aerosol-producing procedures during the pandemic of novel coronavirus, every patient should be considered suspicious. © 2020, Author(s)
Emergency tracheostomy in two airway trauma patients suspected of COVID-19: A case report
Coronavirus disease 2019, known as COVID-19, was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 and became a pandemic on Mar 11, according to the World Health Organization report. In the epidemic of COVID-19, many patients admitted to hospitals for other reasons may be silent carriers of COVID-19 and have the risk of infecting medical personnel. Thus, meticulous personal protection measures should be considered in suspicious patients, especially when close contact with the patient�s airway is anticipated. We introduce two airway trauma patients suspected of COVID-19 who required emergency tracheostomy. Patient one was a 29-year-old man who suffered facial trauma following a car accident. A chest CT scan showed peripheral ground-glass opacities suggestive for COVID-19. The second patient was a young elevator mechanic who experienced maxillofacial trauma after an elevator crash. The methods of anesthesia and airway protection and safety precautions are described. © 2020, Author(s)
Experimental and theoretical study of sediment scour around angled bridge piers
The present study investigated a square-shaped group pier with attack angles of 0°, 10°, 15°, 20°, and 30° and spacing of 2, 3, and 4 times the pier width and a single pier with the same attack angles in the same experimental conditions. Also, a semi-empirical equation was presented for predicting the maximum depth of scour for single pier and group pier, which had good agreement with experimental results. Results indicated that by considering the angle of the single square pier, the flow impact area on the pier was altered, and the maximum depth of scour was reduced due to deformation resulting from the attack angle of the pier. Clinical features and prognosis of invasive ventilation in hospitalized patients with COVID-19: A retrospective study
Background: World Health Organization (WHO) declared that the outbreak of COVID-19 constituted a public health emergency of global concern. Objectives: Owing to limited data on critically ill patients admitted to ICU, we aimed to describe the clinical characteristics and prognosis of these patients based on ventilatory variables and clinical features. Methods: In this retrospective study, 45 critically ill patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 who were admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) wards of the hospital from April 8 to May 9, 2020, were enrolled. Medical files of the patients were reviewed, and demographic and clinical characteristics, laboratory data, lung CT scan findings, causes of intubation, and outcomes of the patients were all collected. Results: The median age of the patients was 67 years (range 22 to 91), 64 were men, and hypertension was the most common comorbidity. History of close contact with previously confirmed patients was positive in 62.2 of the patients. The mean time from symptom onset to hospital admission was 5.98 ± 2.93 days. The most common symptoms at the onset of illness were dyspnea (95.6), and gastrointestinal symptoms (22.2) were rare. The average length of the intubation was 4.84 ± 3.28 days. The distribution of intubation causes in the deceased patients was significantly more than the recovered patients (P = 0.031). The mean score of lung CT involvement in deaths (370.26 ± 207.50) was significantly higher than the recovered patients (235.71 ± 81.21) (P = 0.042). Length of the intubation had a statistically direct correlation with respiratory rate (P = 0.03). Conclusions: Most of the critically ill patients admitted to ICU were older men and had poor outcomes with a high mortality rate. Furthermore, the score of chest CT involvement and respiratory rate are important prognostic factors in determining the severity of the illness, requiring ventilatory support, and outcome. © 2020, Author(s)
Makran continental margin sedimentation during Late Holocene
Sedimentation in the Makran active margin is governed by complex interaction of atmospheric, tectonics and hydrodynamic setting of northern flank of the Gulf of Oman. The mixed clastic carbonate sediments in tectonically and hydrodynamically active environment have complicated distribution pattern. The region is suffering from basic sedimentological data and specifically the sedimentation history of the Holocene deposits was rarely studied in Iranian coast. To deal with this deficiency, surface and core sediment samples from the Iranian continental shelf and upper slope of the Gulf of Oman have been studied using standard sedimentological techniques. The overall sediment distribution pattern demonstrates that the grain size gradually decreases from shoreline to the deeper zones. However, some medium to coarse grained sand patches can be found in deeper parts specially in the middle part of the studied area that can be related to sediment supply of ephemeral rivers discharging in to the sea in rainy seasons and/or high energy events i.e. turbidites and tsunamis during the Holocene. Several horizons of the coarse grained detrital sediments are detectable in upper slope sediment cores. The coarse grained materials are received from hinterland during flashfloods and could be accumulated due to mass wasting events. The elevated amount of organic materials in the upper slope indicates deficit of dissolved oxygen that leads to preservation of organic materials in the bottom sediments.The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page.
