Bilingual Education: A Constructive Support
В современном взаимосвязанном мире двуязычие заставляет любого выделяться из толпы и идти впереди. Во многих учебных заведениях Индии двуязычное образование является неотъемлемой частью учебной программы, оно обеспечивает ребенку долгосрочные образовательные преимущества и обучение на протяжении всей жизни. Двуязычное образование - это путь к двуязычию, которое является целью понимания второго или иностранного языка. Будучи преподавателем языка около десяти лет и обучая иностранному языку студентов из разных слоев общества, разных языков и уровней владения языком, автор приобрел богатый опыт. Весь накопленный опыт в дальнейшем помог склониться к различным взглядам на использование языка в образовании и преподавание языка в учебных заведениях. Было осознано, что знания, передаваемые с помощью двух языков, положительно влияют на учащегося и процесс обучения.In today's interconnected world, being bilingual makes anyone stand out of the crowd and lead the way. In many educational institutes in India, a bilingual education is an essential part of curriculum, it sets child up for long term educational benefits and a lifetime of learning. Bilingual education is the pathway to bilingualism, which is the goal of understanding a second or foreign language. Being language teacher for about ten years and teaching the foreign language to the students from various backgrounds, different vernaculars and levels of language proficiency has provided the author rich experience. All the experience gained further helped to incline on various perspectives regarding use of language in education and teaching language at educational institutions. It was realised that knowledge imparted through two languages positively influence the leaner and learning.48-5
Before Night Falls Reflections of the Life of Reinaldo Arenas with Music from Jorge Martin\u27s Opera Before Night Falls
Join the Florida Grand Opera and the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs for a special presentation exploring the life and times of Cuban writer and dissident Reinaldo Arenas. The event will feature spoken narratives and music from the opera Before Night Falls by Cuban American composer Jorge Martin. Based on Arenas\u27 famous memoir, the opera follows his life from childhood poverty in the Cuban countryside to his emigration to the United States in the 1980 Mariel boatlift and his last decade in New York City.The work traces his trials and tribulations as a political prisoner disillusioned by the Cuban Revolution and persecuted by the Castro regime as a dissident writer and homosexual who was forced to smuggle his manuscripts abroad for publication. The opera premiered in 2010 to critical acclaim.

Both science and technology imply a knowledge built from conceptions esta-blished by modernity. A knowledge that determines and governs the civilizing notions and the progress of many societies. On the other hand, art and design are dictated as hegemonic aesthetic constructions that configure the break with other cultural and social expressions. In this sense, the article engages in a dialogue with the author Rich Gold, analyzing the relationship between science, technology, art and design from a decolonial perspective, as hegemonic conceptions of knowledge that establish the absence of other ways of recognizing the worldTanto a ciência quanto a tecnologia pressupõem um conhecimento construído com base em concepções estabelecidas pela modernidade. Um conhecimento que deter-mina e governa as noções de civilização e o progresso de muitas sociedades. Por outro lado, a arte e o design são ditados como construções estéticas hegemônicas que configu-ram a ruptura com outras expressões culturais e sociais. Neste sentido, o artigo dialoga com o autor Rich Gold, analisando a relação entre ciência, tecnologia, arte e design sob uma perspectiva descolonial, como concepções hegemônicas de conhecimento que esta-belecem a ausência de outras formas de reconhecimento do mundo.Tanto la ciencia como la tecnología suponen un saber construido a partir de concepciones establecidas por la modernidad. Authorial fashion: pedagogical recommendations for the product development process
Os métodos de concepção e elaboração de produtos de Design de Moda orientados pelas instituições de ensino são, em sua maioria, baseados no mercado consumidor. No entanto, há uma crescente busca por peças do vestuário com singularidades do autor, ricas em conceito e cultura, que agreguem valor e incentivem a durabilidade do produto. Dessa forma, o objetivo desta pesquisa é investigar a moda autoral e propor recomendações pedagógicas que auxiliem na concretização de um projeto com esta característica. A moda autoral deve ser rica em conteúdo e composta por propriedades íntimas do autor, evidenciando aspectos culturais, sensoriais, simbólicos e estéticos dos produtos, sem necessariamente seguir tendências. Para isto, a pesquisa se fundamenta em aspectos da moda autoral, suas vertentes e áreas correlatas que contribuem para seu desenvolvimento, além de investigar a relevância de uma identidade profissional na área de design de moda, do ensino de design e de métodos de criação. Aplica-se uma pesquisa de campo com discentes da UTFPR – Campus Apucarana, prestes a desenvolver projetos de moda autoral, a fim de verificar percursos que incentivem e auxiliem na prática.The methods of conception and developing Fashion Design products guided by educational institutions are, for the most part, based on the consumer market.
However, there is a growing demand for clothing items with unique characteristics of the author, rich in concept and culture, which add value and encourage the durability of the product. Thus, the objective of this research is to investigate authorial fashion and propose pedagogical recommendations that help in the realization of a project with this characteristic. Authorial fashion should be rich in content and composed of intimate properties of the author, highlighting cultural, sensorial, symbolic and aesthetic aspects of the products, without necessarily following trends. To this end, the research is based on aspects of authorial fashion, its branches and related areas that contribute to its development, in addition to investigating the relevance of a professional identity in the
area of fashion design, design education and creation methods. A field research is carried out with students from UTFPR – Apucarana Campus, who are about to develop original fashion projects, in order to verify paths that encourage and assist in practice
