In this research paper, the impact of Allama Iqbal's thought is presented by analyzing the poetry of selected poets. Among these poets, Khayal Afaqi, Dr. Qasim Jalal, Waheed uz Zaman Tariq, Akram Kunjahi, Riaz Rahi and Dr. Ayyub Sabir's intellectual work is presented in a research style. The results prove that the effects of Iqbal's thought are more than those of other poets
Child Pedestrian Safety: Study of Street-Crossing Behaviour of Primary School Children with Adult Supervision
No full textRoad traffic accidents are the primary cause of injuries and fatalities among children. The current study focuses on children’s (un)safe crossing behaviour in a real traffic situation accompanied by an adult at a crosswalk in front of their school. The study aims to investigate if there are differences in crossing behaviour related to road infrastructure (i.e., one-way and two-way street, elevated and non-elevated street crossing), the gender of the child, and the effect of the accompanying adult’s behaviour on the child’s crossing behaviour. Primary school children from two urban schools in Flanders (Belgium) were observed for three days while crossing the street in front of their school in the morning and afternoon. A total of 241 child–adult pairs were observed. Descriptive analysis, Pearson chi-square tests, and binary logistic regression models were used to find differences between groups. More than half of the crossings exhibited two or more unsafe behaviours. Not stopping at the curb before crossing was the most unsafe behaviour, exhibited by 47.7% of children; not looking for oncoming traffic before and during the crossing was the second most unsafe behaviour, exhibited by 39.4% of the children. The only difference between boys’ and girls’ crossing behaviour was in stopping at the curb with girls 1.901 times more likely to stop before crossing as compared to boys. Adults holding hands of the child resulted in safer behaviours by children. The children not holding hands displayed significantly riskier behaviour in running or hopping while crossing the street and being distracted. The study reinforces the need to improve the transportation system through infrastructural interventions (elevated crosswalks), as well as educating and training children and the parents on safe crossing behaviour in traffic

Isolation and Characterization of Limonoids from Kigelia africana
No full textTwo new limonoids, 1-O-deacetyl-2α-methoxykhayanolide (1) and kigelianolide (2), together with deacetylkhayanolide E (3), 1-O-deacetyl- 2α-hydroxykhayanolide E (4) and khayanolide B (5) were isolated from the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction of the methanolic extract of Kigelia africana. The structures of these limonoids (1-5) were elucidated by the combination of 1D (1H and 13C NMR) and 2D (HMQC, HMBC and COSY) NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (EIMS, HREIMS), and in comparison with literature data of related compounds. The structure of compound 1 was further confirmed by X-ray crystallography, and the absolute stereochemistry of compounds 1 and 2 was determined by electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectroscopy. Limonoids 1-5 showed weak inhibitory activities against the enzymes acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrycholinesterase (BChE) and lipoxygenase (LOX) in a concentration-dependent manner with IC50 values in the ranges 137.5 -225.2 μM for AChE, 185.4 -241.5 μM for BChE and 281.2 -189.6 μM for LOX

In Vitro Cytotoxicity and Morphological Assessments of GO-ZnO against the MCF-7 Cells: Determination of Singlet Oxygen by Chemical Trapping
No full textGraphene-based materials have attracted considerable interest owing to their distinctive characteristics, such as their biocompatibility in terms of both their physical and intrinsic chemical properties. The use of nanomaterials with graphene as a biocompatible agent has increased due to an uptick in dedication from biomedical investigators. Here, GO-ZnO was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), and Raman spectroscopy for structural, morphological, and elemental analysis. The toxic extent of GO-ZnO was noted by a methyl-thiazole-tetrazolium (MTT), while cellular morphology was observed towards the MCF-7 cells using an inverted microscope at magnification 40 x. The cytotoxic effect of GO-ZnO investigated the cell viability reduction in a dose-dependent manner, as well as prompted the cell demise /destruction in an apoptotic way. Moreover, statistical analysis was performed on the experimental outcomes, with p-values < 0.05 kept as significant to elucidate the results. The generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) demonstrated the potential applicability of graphene in tumor treatment. These key results attest to the efficacy of GO-ZnO nanocomposites as a substantial candidate for breast malignancy treatment

This article covers his literary contributions to Punjabi language and literature besides determining his status in 20th century Punjabi literati.
