Abstract: The civil construction industry is moving towards a greater adoption of technologies in the search for new practices in order to improve its competitiveness, as it currently has its phases segregated, causing, among other things, a failure in the flow of information. The use of building information modelling or BIM in construction has advantages in obtaining data that save time and money. In the site it can be used as a direct channel to send information feedback. In order to creating a method for execution control from the earned value analysis (EVA) using BIM models, the research was based on the methodology of Design Science Research (DSR) and proposed in three phases (cycles of rigor, relevance and design). For the development of the artifact, a literature review was made as a theoretical basis and data collection in a construction company. The evaluation of the artifact was carried out cyclically during its development by functional tests and finally by simulation that served as a controlled experiment to obtain evidence of compliance with information flow integration, ease of use and usefulness. The results showed that the use of the model with an operational view facilitates the integration with the planning and control processes, making it possible to automate the data collection in the site for the measurement control and obtain performance indexes of the enterprise

This paper focuses on the theme of suicide in children's and young adult literature, more specifically on the book O meu amigo pintor (1987) by the Brazilian writer Lygia Bojunga. The book raises two complex debates: the pejorative and questionable position of juvenile children's literature, inferior and devalued in the literary and academic system; and suicide, an interdiction shrouded in taboos and myths in the universe of psychology. Bojunga creates a story that gives the child protagonism as being able to understand the world, death, mourning in their reality, without euphemism or mediators, using literature as a space for dialogue for any topic and age group. And, on the other hand, the author also makes suicide the central theme between rawness and poetic, which are not mutually exclusive in Bojunga's work. The Brazilian writer seeks to deconstruct, one by one, the myths surrounding the theme of voluntary death and the common sense that silences suicide and empties its meaning. Bojunga brings to the theme new colors, nuances, perceptions through the children's world, by opting for a sensitive and honest attitude towards the subject. The book deals with topics such as moral and religious condemnation, the romanticization of suicide and its pathologization. In order to analyse the way in which the author conducts her reflection, we review the studies of Albert Camus, Karl Marx, A. Alvarez and Ana Maria Feijoo.

    No full text
Além disso, convém considerar aspectos da ciência romântica que são importantes para a compreensão das obras do autor estudado, uma vez que são colocados em relação o estético e o empíricoCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorThis dissertation aims to discuss, within the context of Brazilian Romanticism, aspects related to the representation of nature in two works by the author Visconde de Taunay (1843-1899) – Inocência (1872) and Céus e Terras do Brasil (1882) – the first, a “sertanejo” novel, and the second, a travel report. It is intended to explore how the register technique, that is, the construction of the landscape by the traveler interferes in the work of the fiction writer, keeping in mind the equivalence established between nature and landscape, and its implications in the construction of a new literary perspective on Brazil’s natural world. Moreover, it is important to understand the tradition of the voyage – since Taunay was a voyager – not only as a producer of scientific knowledge, but also of aesthetically valid impressions for national purposes. Anne Cauquelin affirms in A Invenção da Paisagem that “words can lie; the image, on the other hand, seems to fixate what already exists” (2007, p. 93, free translation), which means that what we just saw ends up fixating it selfmore easily in our imaginary. Taunay, therefore, seems to use this “power of the image”, as his writing turns to visual elements, dominated by descriptions constructed from references to the languages of drawing and painting, and even his narrative translates itself in to visual terms, with Antônio Cândido being echoed here. The nature observed and translated by Taunay is transfored into landscape, since from his descriptions one may feel as if observing a painting or a scene, which means the natural world is limited to a framework, fully organized and ornate. The purpose of this thesis in to enamine the representation of nature in the works of Visconde de Taunay, keeping in mind the relation of textual transit between the travel reports and his novel in the process of constructing a Brazilian landscape. Furthermore, I shall also consider aspects of romantic science that are important to the understating of the author’s works in question, once they are put in relation with the aesthetics and the empirical92f

Reputation and Sex in the City: governance, women, and paid sex in Newark, New Jersey

    No full text
This work investigates the relationship between governance and sex workers in Newark, New Jersey, and what that interaction can teach us about community conflict and sex worker organizing around the issue. The theme of sexuality, particularly sex work, has been mostly disregarded in the city, seen more as a haven for violent crime and racial conflict. This investigation is then designed to affirm Newark as a space worthy of diverse knowledge production by shedding light on the intricate ways women’s – cis and trans – sexualities exist and are managed in the urban space by community, social, and legal forces. Such historical recollection goes from Newark’s foundation until current times, capturing the most important developments in the field, as well as recent organizational practices of organized sex workers opposing whorephobia and respectability politics while trying to survive in a changing urban environment. Therefore, methodologically, this work relies on critical sexuality studies while delving into archival research, participant observation with the sex worker-led organizations New Jersey Red Umbrella Alliance (NJRUA) and Best Practices Policy Project (BPPP), and semi-structured interviews with current and retired Newark sex workers. The present exploration contributes to new forms of looking into municipal politics, the creation and materialization of ideal citizens, as well as organizational/activist initiatives to counteract idealized visions of the city and its citizens. By analyzing these dynamics, we observe how we – as urban constituencies aiming to belong in communities – build and aim to maintain or disrupt reputations encompassing specific ways we live – and mostly, seem to live – our sexualities.Ph.D.Includes bibliographical reference

Abstract: The Constitution guarantees the civil right to inheritance, the succession process of which begins with death. The lack of succession planning can result in an arduous, conflicting and financially burdensome task for the heirs. That said, some advantages of carrying out succession planning include, for example, the reduction of legal disputes, the prevention of emotional distress, the reduction of financial costs and the preservation of assets. In turn, succession planning facilitates the transfer of assets, avoids family conflicts and promotes well-being among the heirs. In addition, it allows the testator to have control over the distribution of his assets, ensuring the autonomy of the private will of his decisions, comfort and stability for his family and loved ones after his death. From this perspective, this study analyzes testamentary succession planning, considering the economic, social and procedural aspects. The methodology used was qualitative research based on a bibliographic review of doctrines, legislation and scientific articles. It is important to conclude that testamentary succession planning, when carried out under the guidance of a qualified professional, is a rational and necessary act that contributes to the social and economic development of the author of the inheritance, guaranteeing the preservation of the assets and promoting family peace for him and his heirs. Keywords: Succession planning; Benefits; Testament; Economy; Conflict prevention.

The new challenge for the management of pharmaceutical care is caused by the phenomenon of Judicialization of Health, which has been demanding a differentiated analysis from managers, in order to respond to court orders, avoid the growth of new demands, as well as preserve the principles and guidelines of the System Single Health. The objective was to analyze the profile of court orders for the supply of medicines filed with the courts against public agents in the Municipality of Vargem Grande do Sul, in the years 2010 and 2016. The data were collected through proceedings judged in the first instance, which had the decision already rendered at the time of consultation. The variables analyzed in the processes were related to the process, the author of the sentence, the doctor who prescribed it and the requested treatment. 35 cases were analyzed and it was found that 63% of users are female, all cases had a writ of mandamus as the type of action, 57% were represented by public defenders, with 54% of the defendants being the municipality and the state. It was evidenced that 23% of these lawsuits took place in 2015, 74% of the prescribers of the actions were private physicians and 69% of these requested medicines were not included in the Municipal List of Essential Medicines (REMUME). The study made it possible to highlight the effects that these decisions have on public policies, the distortions that this phenomenon causes and the economic impact that this practice can cause.O novo desafio para a gestão da assistência farmacêutica é provocado pelo fenômeno da Judicialização da Saúde que vêm exigindo uma análise diferenciada dos gestores, afim de responder as ordens judiciais, evitar o crescimento de novas demandas, bem como preservar os princípios e as diretrizes do Sistema Único de Saúde.

Spatial clusters, social determinants of health and risk of COVID-19 mortality in Brazilian children and adolescents: A nationwide population-based ecological study

BACKGROUND: Data regarding the geographical distribution of cases and risk factors for COVID-19 death in children and adolescents are scarce. We describe the spatial distribution of COVID-19 cases and deaths in paediatric population and their association with social determinants of health in Brazil. METHODS: This is a population-based ecological study with a spatial analysis of all cases and deaths due to COVID-19 in Brazil among children and adolescents aged 0–19 years from March 2020 to October 2021. The units of analysis were the 5570 municipalities. Data on COVID-19 cases and deaths, social vulnerability, health inequities, and health system capacity were obtained from publicly available databases. Municipalities were stratified from low to very high COVID-19 incidence and mortality using K-means clustering procedures, and spatial clusters and relative risks were estimated using spatial statistics with Poisson probability models. The relationship between COVID-19 estimates and social determinants of health was explored by using multivariate Beta regression techniques. FINDINGS: A total of 33,991 COVID-19 cases and 2424 deaths among children and adolescents aged 0–19 years were recorded from March 2020 to October 2021. There was a spatial dependence for the crude mortality coefficient per 100,000 population in the paediatric population aged 0–19 years (I Moran 0·10; P < 0·001). Forty municipalities had higher mortality rates, of which 20 were in states from the Northeast region. Seven spatial clusters were identified for COVID-19 mortality, with four clusters in the Northeast region and three in the North region. Municipalities with higher social inequality and vulnerability had higher COVID-19 mortality in the paediatric population. INTERPRETATION: The main clusters of risk for mortality among children and adolescents were identified in municipalities in the North and Northeast regions, which are the regions with the worst socioeconomic indicators and greatest health disparities in the country. Our findings confirmed the higher burden of COVID-19 for Brazilian paediatric population in municipalities with higher social inequality and vulnerability and worse socioeconomic indicators. To reduce the burden of COVID-19 on children, mass immunisation is necessary. FUNDING: None

The β-keto-1,2,3-triazole derivates 3a-f exhibited moderate cytotoxic activity for the HepG2 cells with IC50 values of 29.7 μM (3a), 16.4 μM (3b), 17.8 μM (3c), 20.4 μM (3d), 28.1 μM (3e) and 28.2 μM (3f). The semi-synthetic β-keto-1,2,3-triazoles derivatives 3a-f were all characterized by FT-IR, NMR, HRMS and [α]D
