    18 HlmPenelitian tentang Keanekaragaman Jenis Mangrove di Pantai Mutiara Desa Kota Pari, Kecamatan Pantai Cermin, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, Provinsi Sumatera Utara dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober s.d November 2012. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis clan vegetasi mangrove berdasarkan tingkatan pertumbuhan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode teknik survey eksploratif. Pengumpulan sampel untuk data vegetasi penelitian terdiri dari plot-plot pengamatan dengan total 12 plot yang berasal dari 3 transek.. Hasil penelitian terdapat 6 jenis mangrove yaitu Avicennia marina, Bruguiera sexangula, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora mucronata, clan Nypafruticans, yang tergolong dari 3 famili yaitu Avicenniaceae, Rhizophoraceae clan Arecaceae. Dari hasil analisis diketahui jenis Avicennia marina, Rhizophora apiculata clan Rhizophora stylosa merupakan jenis yang mendominasi kawasan pesisir Pantai Mutiara Desa Kota Pari Kecamatan Pantai Cermin. Berdasarkan analisis data yang didapat, indeks keanekaragaman (H) mangrove di pantai tersebut tergolong rendah, yaitu tingkat semai H= 0,87, tingkat pacang H= 1,34, clan tingkat pohon H= 1,20. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis mangrove yang terdapat di Pantai tersebut sedikit

    Penelitian tentang Respon Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Sawi (Brassica juncea L.) Terhadap Interval Waktu Penyiraman Pada Berbagai Media hidroponik. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui Respon Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Sawi (Brassica juncea L.) Terhadap Interval Waktu Penyiraman Pada Berbagai Media Hidroponik. Penelitian dilakukan di rumah kasa kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area, Berlokasi di jalan Kolam No. I Medan Estate, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan dengan ketinggian tempat kurang lebih 12 m dari permukaan iaut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Oktober 2013 sampai dengan Desember 2013. Metode yang digunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial, dengan 2 ulangan, 10 kombinasi, sehingga didapat 20 plot tanaman. Faktor pertama media tanam hidroponik yaitu : M1 : Akar Pakis, M2 : Serbuk Sabut Kelapa, M3 : Sekam Bakar, M4 : Rokwool, dan M5 : serbuk Gergaji, faktor kedua adalah interval waktu yaitu: I1 : 3 jam sekali dalam sehari, I2 : 5 jam sekali dalam sehari, dimulai dari pukul 08:00-18:00 wib. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perlakuan penyiraman pupuk cair dengan interval waktu yang berbeda tidak menunjukan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman sawi, perlakuan media yang digunakan pada sistem hidroponik memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, bobot produksi dan berpengaruh nyata terhadap level warna daun. Media tanam yang terbaik adalah M3 (sekam bakar). Interaksi interval waktu penyiraman pada berbagai media hidroponik tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter yang diamati, adalah: tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot basah, dan bobot produksi, sedangkan pada parameter warna daun berpengaruh nyata dan pada parameter lebar daun berpengaruh sangat nyata.Response Research on Growth and Production of mustard (Brassica juncea L.) The study was conducted at the home screen experimental garden Faculty of Agriculture, University Medan Area, located in the Pool No. I Terrain Estate, District Percut Sei Tuan with altitude 12 m above sea level. This study was conducted from October 2013 until December 2013. The method used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial, with 2 replications, 10 combinations, thus obtained 20 plots of plants. The first factor hydroponic growing media, namely: M1 : The roots of ferns, M2: Coconut Fiber Powder, M3: Chaff Bakr, M4: Rokwool, and M5: Saws powder, the second factor is the time interval that is: Il : 3 hours once a day, 12: 5 hours a day, starting from 08: 00-18: 00 pm. The results showed that treatment watering liquid fertilizer with different time intervals showed no significant effect on the growth of mustard plants, the treatment medium used in the hydroponic system provides a very real effect on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, weight and production significantly affected level of leaf color. The best planting medium is M3 (husk fuel). Interaction watering intervals on various hydroponic media did not significantly affect the observed parameters, are: plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight, and the weight of production, while the significant parameters of leaf color and leaf width parameter was highly significant

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    15 HlmPenelitian dilakukan di Areal Coke Farm PT. Cocacola, di Jl. Medan Belawan Kecamatan Medan Belawan dengan ketinggian antara 0 - 1 meter diatas permukaan laut. Penelitian ini di laksanakan mulai Oktober 2011 sampai November 2011. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk membandingkan pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman sayuran (Caisim, Selada, Kangkung) secara hidroponik sistem NFT (Nutrient Film Technique). Metode penelitian yang di gunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Non Faktorial, yaitu: Faktor pemberian satu jenis Nutrisi yang sama dengan 3 jenis tanaman yang berbeda yaitu : T1 = Tanaman Caisim, T2 = Tanaman Selada, dan T3 = Tanaman Kangkung. Parameter yang diamati adalah persentase tumbuh, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, warna daun, bobot basah panen, panjang akar, jumlah akar dan volume akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kajian agronomis tanaman sayuran dengan cara hidroponik sistem NFT menunjukkan pertumbuhan vegetatif yang baik. Persentase tumbuh tanaman yang tinggi, pertambahan tinggi tanaman, pertambahan jumlah daun, pertambahan luas daun yang besar, warna daun lebih hijau, bobot basah panen yang berat, akar yang panjang, jumlah akar yang banyak dan volume akar yang besar. Jenis tanaman sayuran yang mengalami pertumbuhan lebih baik adalah tanaman kangkung, kemudian diikuti tanaman caisim dan selada. Dengan sistem NFT tanaman kangkung mengalami pertumbuhan pesat dengan persentase tumbuh 100 %, pertambahan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan luas daun yang lebih besar, bobot basah panen lebih berat, wama daun lebih hijau, akar lebih panjang dan volume akar lebih besar

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
