Antropometria, composição corporal e estado nutricional de escolares de séries iniciais de Caçador - SC
Get PDFDissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Desportos, Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação Fisica, Florianópolis, 2009O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar indicadores antropometricos, de composicao corporal e o estado nutricional de escolares de 5 a 11 anos de idade das Series Iniciais do Ensino Fundamental e sua evolucao entre os anos de 2007 e 2008. Para tanto, a amostra foi constituida por 5.118 criancas no ano de 2007 e, em 2008, foram avaliadas 4.775 alunos pertencentes as Redes Municipal, Estadual e Particular de Ensino do municipio de Cacador . SC. Foram realizadas medidas antropometricas de massa corporal, estatura, gordura corporal, assim como foi estabelecido o estado nutricional dos individuos. O nivel de significancia adotado foi p.0,05. De um modo geral, os resultados encontrados indicam que as medias de estatura e massa corporal das criancas estao, nao so dentro da normalidade nas diferentes redes de ensino, como, em alguns casos, acima da media de outros estudos semelhantes dentro da Regiao Sul. O presente estudo tambem indica que os indices de crescimento das criancas de Cacador sao maiores que os indices apresentados pelo estudo referencia do NCHS. Quanto a gordura corporal relativas dos escolares de Cacador, de um modo geral, pode-se definir que, atraves da analise das medias de gordura corporal relativa, as criancas estao com o nivel de gordura dentro da normalidade, segundo padroes de Lohman, com excecao em algumas idades especificas. Sendo que tambem existe pouca diferenca entre as redes de ensino no que tange a media de gordura corporal relativa. Ao analisar o estado nutricional dos escolares das Redes Municipal, Estadual e Particular de Ensino de Cacador, pode-se notar que o indice de desnutricao, apesar de elevado, esta diminuindo; no entanto, em compensacao, o indice de excesso de peso esta aumentando. Tambem pode-se observar que as criancas de Cacador apresentam um indice de crescimento maior quando comparados com as referencias internacionais do NCHS. Atraves do presente estudo ve-se a necessidade de um acompanhamento de profissionais da area da saude para as criancas do Ensino Fundamental nas diferentes redes de ensino do municipio. Atraves da realizacao da avaliacao do estado nutricional das criancas ofereceu-se maior clareza de informacoes a populacao e as autoridades competentes, o que favorece um possivel trabalho pelas redes de ensino atraves da merenda escolar para um acompanhamento/avaliacao do estado de saude amplo sobre as criancas que correm risco de subnutricao ou subnutridas, e aquelas com risco de obesidade ou obesas, para que ocorra reversao dos quadros nutricionais do municipio, uma vez que os numeros foram relativamente altos.This study aimed to examine anthropometric indicators of body composition and nutritional status of children 5 to 11 years of age the initial grades of elementary school and its development between the years 2007 and 2008. Thus, the sample consisted of 5.118 children in 2007, and in 2008 were evaluated 4.775 students belonging to the Network City, State and Private Education in the Municipality of Cacador - SC. Anthropometric measurements were performed for body mass, height, body fat, as was the nutritional status of individuals. The level of significance was p . 0.05. In general, the results indicate that the average height and body mass of children are not only within the normal range in the different networks of education, and in some cases above the average of other similar studies in the South Region This study also indicates that the growth rates of children Cacador are larger than the indices provided by the study of the NCHS reference. As for body fat on the school of Cacador, in general, you can set that, by analysis of body fat on average, children are at the level of fat within the normal range, according to standards Lohman, except in some specific ages. Since there is also little difference between the networks of education in terms of the mean relative body fat. In considering the nutritional status of school networks of local, state and private schools of Cacador, you may notice that the rate of malnutrition, although high, is decreasing, but in compensation, the rate of overweight is increasing . You can also see that children from Cacador have a higher growth rate when compared with international benchmarks of NCHS. In this study there is a need for monitoring of health care professionals for children of elementary school education in the different networks of the municipality. Through the completion of the assessment of nutritional status of children offered a greater clarity of information to the population and the competent authorities, which favors a possible work by the network of education through school lunches for a monitoring / evaluation of health status on the broad children who are at risk of malnutrition or malnourished, and those at risk for obesity or obese, to have reversed the tables of nutrition council, since the numbers were relatively high
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
