REIS, Claudio A.. A rêverie como exercício espiritual em Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Argumentos Revista de Filosofia, Fortaleza, ano 4, n. 8, p. 150-161, jul./dez. 2012.This article proposes a reading of the Rêveries du promeneur solitaire using the concept of “spiritual exercise”, as it appears in some contemporary metaphilosophical discussions. We try to show how Rousseau at the same time gives continuity and breaks with an ancient tradition, recovering an old conception of philosophy from his readings, while at the same time transforming it.O artigo propõe uma leitura das Rêveries du promeneur solitaire a partir do conceito de “exercício espiritual”, tal como aparece em algumas discussões metafilosóficas contemporâneas. Consideraciones sobre la poética de Claudio Rodríguez
The purpose of this paper is to study the poetics of Claudio Rodríguez, delimiting its components and trying to clarify them and to present them as a whole. The author left some pages written on his conception of poetry that encourage reflection and, in some cases, interpretation. So with his conception of poetry as a gift and inebriation, as an alliance and condemnation or celebration (giving title to his collections of poems), or with notions such as «participation», «living contemplation», «living expression » or «personal rhythm» that make up his way of understanding the poetic process.

“Dialogue between Translators and Authors. The Example of Claudio Magris”
The paper focuses on the forms of cooperation between authors and their translator(s) in all cases in which the two operate simultaneously. This issue is explored on the example of the Trieste-born author Claudio Magris, who cultivates a very close relationship with most of his translators.
Writing and translation have been coexisting in this author throughout his career and have resulted in the heightened sensitivity of Magris the author with regards to translation, as the first part of the analysis shows. The second part describes the dialogue between Magris and the translators of his works, and ends with the more general question of the significance and role of such a form of exchange
Sendo assim, destacam-se nesta pesquisa os aspectos positivos que professoras alfabetizadoras críticas, na busca por melhoria na qualidade de ensino, podem trazer para a formação dos alunos das classes populares, assim como, a importância que a universidade pública representa não só na formação de professores e alunos, como da sociedade em geral, na formação de cidadãos críticos e reflexivosThe present research aims to highlight the contributions of the Institute of Education of Angra dos Reis, Universidade Federal Fluminense (IEAR / UFF), in the training of literacy teachers in the Costa Verde region, through the analysis and study of the Conclusion Works of the students of the Post-graduate Lato Sensu in Literacy of Students of the Popular Classes, held at IEAR / UFF. Emphasis is given to the importance of continuing education, not only in relation to the teaching profession but also in the students' school life, which, based on the commitment and the differentiated performance of the teachers, have access to a differentiated and quality education in schools. Thus, the research highlights the positive aspects that critical literacy teachers, in their search for improvement in the quality of teaching, can bring to the education of the students of the popular classes, as well as the importance that the public university represents not only in the formation of teachers and students, and of society in general, in the formation of critical and reflective citizen
Rationale for Medium Cutoff Membranes in COVID-19 Patients Requiring Renal Replacement Therapy
The current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spotlighted the vulnerability of patients with chronic kidney disease stage 5 on maintenance hemodialysis (HD) to the viral infection. Social distancing is the most effective preventive measure to reduce the risk of infection. Nonetheless, the necessity to frequently reach the dialysis center and the inherent social gathering both impede social distancing and also self-quarantine for infected individuals. A baseline hyperinflammatory state driven by factors such as the retention of uremic toxins afflicts these patients. Concomitantly, a condition of relative immunosuppression is also attributed to similar factors. The use of high-flux (HF) dialyzers for HD is the standard of care. However, with HF membranes, the removal of large middle molecules is scant. Medium cutoff (MCO) dialyzers are a new class of membranes that allow substantial removal of large middle molecules with negligible albumin losses. Recent trials confirmed lo..
Management of Acute Kidney Injury in Patients With COVID-19
The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has rapidly evolved into a global pandemic. Most patients with COVID-19 have mild symptoms, but about 5% develop severe symptoms, which can include acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock, and multiple organ failure. Kidney involvement is frequent, with clinical presentation ranging from mild proteinuria to progressive acute kidney injury (AKI) necessitating renal replacement therapy (RRT). An understanding of the pathophysiology and mechanisms of kidney damage and AKI in the setting of critical illness and COVID-19 is emerging, although further research is needed to identify patients at risk of AKI and to guide management strategies. As no specific treatment options exist for AKI secondary to COVID-19, intensive care is largely supportive. Current approaches to prevention and management of AKI, and identification of potential indications for use of RRT and sequential extracorporeal therapies, are based mainly on clinical ex..
