Precancerous Lesions in Gastrointestinal Tract

Studies in gastrointestinal cancer showed early detection can reduce morbidity and improve the survival of patients. The precancerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract are highly potential turn into cancer. Precancerous lesions can be defined as a change or non-cancerous lesions that can become cancerous over time. Precancerous lesions can be found on the entire upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. Precancerous lesions of the upper digestive tract that can be found are Barrett's esophagus, chronic gastritis with or without Helicobacter pylori infection, atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia of the gastric mucosa, epithelial dysplasia, and adenoma polyp. While precancerous lesions in the lower gastrointestinal tract are adenoma, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic infection and hereditary non-polyposis colon lesions. Precancerous lesions of the stomach in the form of chronic atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia can be treated with anti-inflammatory and anti-free radical drugs such as rebamipide and superoxide dysmutase. Precancerous lesions in the colon in the form of chronic enterocolitis, dysplasia can be treated with anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory and anti-free radical such as anti-oxidants, rebamipide, superoxide dismutase, anti-inflammatory drugs

Appropriate first aid treatment and comprehensive management of snakebite cases are warranted to reduce mortality and morbidity rates.

Get PDFThe Amil Zakat Institute of Muhammadiyah City of Pekanbaru or abbreviated as LAZISMU is a zakat management institution that is directly formed through self-help and also cooperates with the Pekanbaru City National Amil Zakat Agency in its management. In order for the management of zakat to take place professionally and responsibly, it is necessary to hold regulations governing the management of this zakat. For this reason, Law No. 38 of 1999 concerning Management of Zakat has now been changed to Law No. 23 of 2011. However, according obtained, the management of zakat at the Pekanbaru City Muhammadiyah Amil Zakat Institution is still considered to be less than optimal and there is still a lack of compliance with Law Number 23 of 2011 concerning Management of Zakat. The main problem in this research is how the role of Lazismu Pekanbaru in collecting and distributing zakat funds according to Law Number 23 of 2011 concerning Management of Zakat and what are obstacles and constraints in its management. the interview also provided a questionnaire. Based on the results of research conducted by the author, that the management system of alms in Pekanbaru Lazismu was felt to be not optimal and there was still a little discrepancy between the implementation of Law No. 23 of 2011 concerning zakat management. This happened because of the lack of coordination between Lazismu and the Pekanbaru City National Amil Zakat Board, which is usually abbreviated as BAZNAS regarding data on mustahiq (zakat recipients) which were not integrated with each other

Adult Ileocecal Intussusception: A Case Report and Review
Get PDFIntussusception is a rare cause of bowel obstruction in adult patients, it represents for five percent of all age intussusception. Several different aspects were found between adult and pediatric intussusception. We report a case of 39-year-old male with bowel obstruction due to ileocecal intussusception, which firstly diagnosed as acute appendicitis. Unlike pediatric intussusception which usually manifest as classical triad signs, unspecific symptoms of adult intussusception may become diagnostic challenge. Imaging modalities such as plain abdominal radiograph and ultrasonography may aid the preoperative diagnosis in the rural hospital setting. Prompt management which involved surgical approach is warranted to prevent further complications
