Para isso, analisarei a tradução de Marcel Proust para o francês e seu paratexto e a tradução para o castelhano feita por Miguel Catalán e o respectivo paratexto.This study analises the translations of Sesame and Lilies, by John Ruskin, into French and Spanish in order to examine issues related to the essay as a literary genre, to the translation of essays and to authorship. This exam will be carried out by analising the translation into French by Marcel Proust and its paratext and the translation into Spanish by Miguel Catalán, accompanied by its paratext

    Marcel Schwob Digital Collection

    This project outlines the discovery and digitization of previously unpublished correspondence composed by late 19th century author and literary critic, Marcel Schwob. Inspired by the inquiry of Bibliothèque Nationale Librarian Bernard Gauthier, Professor Daryl Lee alerted me to the presence of Marcel Schwob materials at BYU. I found that former BYU Professor John Green established a Marcel Schwob Memorial Collection and successfully published two books using the materials he gathered: Chroniques and Correspondance Inédite. After thoroughly researching the catalogued Schwob materials at BYU and comparing the contents to other Schwob publications, I found 72 previously unpublished letters. The majority of the letters (62) were written by Schwob to family members, and the remaining 9 letters were written to Schwob by colleagues. International interest in Marcel Schwob materials is one of many indicators representing renewed interest in the author, his work, and his influence. Recent publications also reflect growing Schwob interest. In Marcel Schwob, d\u27hier et d\u27aujourd\u27hui (2002), Christian Berg and Yves Vadé shed new light on Schwob through the observations of his contemporaries and modern-day essays on the importance of his contes. In addition, Jean Lorrain: Lettres à Marcel Schwob (2006) furthers the effort to better understand Schwob through a collection of correspondence. In light of this renewed interest, I determined that the previously unpublished correspondence would serve as a useful research tool for Schwob scholars. With the guidance and assistance of employees at the Harold B. Lee Library, I subsequently converted the correspondence into a digital publication. Creating a digital publication is a multifaceted undertaking requiring the involvement and expertise of different individuals and library departments. I successfully learned how to use both the hardware and software involved in the digitization process, thereby facilitating my completion of project deliverables, including: scanning and transcribing the letters; writing letter summaries (in both French and English), extracting names, and completing other metadata; uploading metadata using the Lee Library\u27s external database; establishing authority control records; writing website content (in both French and English), and publicizing the project.     Man, wondering for himself discovers the existence of the spiritual world. The source of this spiritual reality can only be the most perfect spiritual being, namely God. There are different routes to encounter with God. This article shows one of these human paths to God, which was crossed by the French philosopher Gabriel Marcel. For Gabriel Marcel his personal an experience of the beauty of music has become an important factor in the meeting with God, who is the source of all the beauty. The first part of the article presents some small outline of the Church’s teaching on beauty as an attribute of God. God is the highest (absolute) beauty and the source of all beauty. Each created beauty participates in this highest beauty and it is the image of the Creator and His beauty. In an art, and therefore also in music, as the Church teaches (recently John Paul II and Benedict XVI spoke about it), man can find a reflex of God’s beauty. Music can therefore be one of the way to God. In the next part of the article is presented an important impact that music has had on the life and philosophical thought of Marcel. Music was accompanied our author throughout all his life. Marcel often listened the music. He played the piano and composed his own pieces. Music was also a tool with which Marcel explored the deepest crannies of the human spirit. Music helped Marcel meet One who is the source of beauty. It is to this theme to which is dedicated the last part of the article. Marcel has sought and found the way to find the eternal and personal THOU. Music and theater were to the French thinker the „creative testimony” of the spiritual and transcendent world. In conclusion we can say that the meeting with the great, beautiful music opens man up to the spiritual world. Music opens man to God who is the source of what is beautiful in the world, so we can say that music is a trace of God. Gabriel Marcel, his life experiences and philosophical obserwation can serve the man as a guidepost in his searching of God

    Unveiling the role of EVs in anaerobic parasitic protozoa

    The anaerobic or microaerophilic protozoan parasites such as the enteric human pathogens Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia intestinalis, Cryptosporidium parvum, Blastocystis hominis and urogenital tract parasites Trichomonas vaginalis are able to survival in an environment with oxygen deprivation. Despite living in hostile environments these pathogens adopted different strategies to survive within the hosts. Among them, the release of extracellular vesicles (EVs) has become an active endeavor in the study of pathogenesis for these parasites. EVs are heterogenous, membrane-limited structures that have played important roles in cellular communication, transferring information through cargo and modulating the immune system of the host. In this review, we described several aspects of the recently characterized EVs of the anaerobic protozoa, including their role in adhesion, modulation of the immune response and omics analysis to understand the potential of these EVs in the pathogenesis of these diseases caused by anaerobic parasites.Fil: Sabatke, Bruna.     La metafísica de la existencia humana de Gabriel Marcel

    In this article, I hold that Gabriel Marcel proposes a kind of metaphysics of human existence that arises from a phenomenology. In order to show this hypothesis, I start from the description that the author does of the situation of contemporary man. Marcel affirms that human being has been reduced to a mere assembly of functions, without leaving any room to mystery. Starting from this account, I develop the concept of ontological need, concept that allows us to go from phenomenology to metaphysis, because the concept of ontological need, according to Marcel, is not only the expression of a subjective need of finding sense, but the expression of the ontological mystery in which we find ourselves. The philosophy of mystery of Marcel, backbone of his metaphysics of the human existence, is explained in the second part of this article, by giving an account of the basic fact of being an incarnated being and by discussing the problem of participation.En este artículo sostengo que Gabriel Marcel desarrolla una metafísica de la existencia humana a partir de una fenomenología. Para mostrar esta hipótesis, parto del diagnóstico que hace el autor de la situación del hombre contemporáneo. Marcel afirma que el ser humano ha sido reducido a un mero haz de funciones no dando espacio para el misterio. A partir de ese diagnóstico, desarrollo el concepto de exigencia ontológica el cual nos permite, sostengo, pasar de una fenomenología a una metafísica, desde el momento en que Marcel plantea que la exigencia ontológica no es solo una necesidad subjetiva de sentido, sino el correlato del misterio ontológico en el cual nos encontramos insertos. La filosofía del misterio del Marcel, eje central de su metafísica de la existencia humana, es explicada y explicitada en la segunda parte de este trabajo, a partir del dato de la encarnación y del problema de la participación

    L'Universalité du théâtre de Marcel Dubé

    The works of Marcel Dube are a testimony of the French Canadian society's evolution, at a time when its cultural and social identity was being questioned. Beyond any doubt, his plays had a strong influence upon Quebecers during the fifties and sixties. Dube's dramatic works have instigated the interest of critics throughout Canada and also in the United States and Europe.This thesis represents an analysis of five plays written by Marcel Dube giving clear indication of the universality of his works, particularly based on unpublished documents. These plays were written almost thirty years ago; nevertheless, they are still alive and applauded nowadays, which corroborates their universality. Also, on the unpublished recording tapes, actress Monique Miller, actor Jean Duceppe and author and critic Jean Ethier-Blais dwell precisely on the universality of Dube's works. Therefore I thought advisable to study this particular topic in the following plays: Zone, Florence, le temps des lilas, Bilan and Au retour des oies blanches.On these unpublished recording tapes, Marcel Dube talks about himself and his life as a writer. We learn about his childhood, the beginning of his career, the people who surrounded and encouraged him, the social, cultural, and political environment that prevailed at the time he wrote his most famous plays. He also acknowledges his mistakes, his weaknesses, his ambitions and talks about the motives that prompted him to become a writer.Furthermore, well known author and critic Jean Ethier-Blais expresses his ideas and feelings regarding the author and his works. Actors and personal friends Monique Miller and Jean Duceppe recollect the circumstances and the effect the dramatic art of Marcel Dube has had on French Canadian culture

    Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry Author: Mona Abo El Dahabová Supervisor: PharmDr. Marcel Špulák, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Quinazoline derivatives as compounds with potential bronchodilatory effect III Asthma and COPD are serious diseases worldwide, that are mostly medicated with agents possessing bronchodilatory activity. Based on our previous research, I did prepare quinazoline derivatives via changing the structure of (-)vasicinone, which showed promising bronchodilatory activity. The reactions took place mainly by the mechanism of nucleophilic substitution, which is characterized with binding of the nucleophile to the appropriate molecular target. During my diploma thesis, I have isolated the quinazoline derivatives in the form of a tertiary amine and a quaternary ammonium salts. For most of the prepared substances, I determined their bronchodilatory activity at ex vivo rat trachea, which indicated possible direction of the structure modifications of the original compounds.     In this paper, the author addresses the transformation of the memory of Marcel Proust as a writer in the contemporary information society, taking the work of Nicolas Ragonneau as a starting point. The creator of the Proustonomics blog, using quantitative data and large datasets concerning the author of In the Search of Lost Time, calculates his social influence. Proust is presented as a model of some social practices and artistic pastiches. Thereby, Nicolas Ragonneau turns imitation into a basic strategy of memory of the writer as well as critique of its modern approach focused on the work and its originality
