    No full text
One of strategy to maintain the Malay Culture of Indonesia is integrated learning. This way gives effective results to the school to maintain the culture of the Region. This research is a literature review approach with an exploration of many research in Indonesia and other countries. The data collection technique used was documentation from ten published articles from every country that has done the research. The research shows the integration process can be done in an effective way according to expert suggestions. This can be done with a strict validation process. Learning integration should be implemented in every education element. This is because the education element, government, principal, teachers, staff, and students will be a significant effect on supporting the integration process in classroom activities. Integration can be run effectively with facilities support from the government and students’ parent

This study aims to produce valid mathematics learning tools. The development of the device in this study uses the Plomp development model which is divided into 5 phases, namely initial investigation, design, relation/construction, test, evaluation and revision and implementation. The data collection instruments used were in the form of RPP validation sheets and LKPD validation sheets. Data collection techniques were carried out by collecting validation questionnaires that had been filled out by experts. The data analysis technique used is validation data analysis. The results of the analysis of device validation data on the data obtained from the three validators obtained an average RPP validation score of 81.6% which is included in the fairly valid category which can be used but needs minor revisions. The average score of LKPD validation is 78.67% which is included in the fairly valid category that can be used with minor revisions. Furthermore, the RPP and LKPD were revised according to the validator's suggestion so that a mathematics learning device with the Treffinger model with the help of the Geogebra application was produced on valid flat-sided geometry material, which the device was feasible and could be used in the learning process

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cooperative learning of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type in improving students’ learning outcomes, social attitudes, and students’ motivation. This is a quasi-experimental study using control and experimental classes. The research instruments used in this study were tests and questionnaires. The data were analyzed by using Multivariate Analysis of Variants (MANOVA). Theresult of the analysis showed that there was a significant influence between the experimental class with cooperative learning of STAD type and the control class with conventional learning viewed from the learning outcomes, social attitudes, and motivation of the students. These results can be seen from the statistical value of Hotelling's Trace which was smaller than 0.05. Cooperative learning simultaneously could improve learning outcomes, social attitudes, and learning motivation of students of SMAN 1 Tebing Tinggi.

Inductive reasoning skills: Identification of student errors using APOS theory

Math problem-solving mistakes made by students need to be treated more seriously since, if left unattended, they may affect students' comprehension of the following mathematical ideas. This study aims to identify students’ errors while attempting to solve mathematical problems of inductive reasoning ability on the material of powers and roots. This study adopts a qualitative method with descriptive research. The participants in this study were 24 students of class IX A at SMPN 2 Pelalawan. The research methods used are tests, interviews, and triangulation. The results showed that students had low inductive reasoning abilities so they made mistakes in solving problems. Based on the APOS theory (action, process, object, and schema), there are four student errors in solving math problems, namely: 1) incorrect interpretation: students do not grasp the meaning and objective of the questions; 2) conceptual error: misunderstood the multiplication of powers; 3) procedural errors: they occur when students conclude problems without adhering to a process; 4) Technical errors: Students frequently make errors while multiplying powers because they do not understand the concept. Regarding the APOS theory, based on the data analysis students only arrived at the first phase, namely the action phas

Optimizations and recycling industrial waste (palm oil fly ash) as a pigment in coating technology

In this study, the feasibility of palm oil fly ash (POFA) as a pigment in paint technology is investigated. The utilization of POFA as paint pigment is favorable due to its stability and non-toxicity. On the other hand, producing colour pigment by using POFA as pigment element reduces the solid waste in palm oil industry, in addition to the advantages of inexpensiveness and ready access to POFA feedstock. The objective of this research are to identify the optimum composition of POFA in combination of binder, solvent and additives as pigment in paint, to examine the heat resistant behavior of POFA paint and investigating the POFA paint coating ability to withstand from the paint testing. In general, this research hopes to improve the technology of coating and also can be a significant contribution in the academic, research, development and field studies related to the paint technology. The optimum preparation and thermal conductivity of paint that prepared from the waste of palm oil fly ash (POFA) were investigated. For optimum pigment preparations, the aqueous precursor of 45 % wt POFA mixed with 25 % wt sulphur, 10 % wt graphite fine powder and 20 % wt calcium hydroxide was sintered at 700 – 800 °C to produce a complete crystalline product. The sintered product was milled and become grayish fine powder pigment. From the SEM images, the grain size approximately 0.404 µm. The pigment was mixed with binder, solvent, and additives and grinded to become a paint and tested (glossy test, hardness test, adhesion test, and thermal conductivity test). From the result, the optimum composition of a paint are 22 % wt POFA pigment, 29 % wt binder, 39 % wt solvent and 10 % wt additives (cobalt 10%, lead 32% and N.C Solution). It also discovers that the paint is good insulator with thermal conductivity approximately 78.95 W/m.°C

<div><p>A new sesquiterpenoid, malayscaphiol (<b>1</b>), and three known compounds, lupeol (<b>2</b>), lupenone (<b>3</b>) and stigmasterol (<b>4</b>), were isolated from the methanolic extract of the stem bark of <i>Scaphium macropodum</i>. The structures of the isolated compounds were determined using several spectroscopic methods, including UV–vis, FT-IR, 1D and 2D NMR, and mass spectrometer. Major isolated compounds were assayed for cytotoxicity and anti-acetylcholinesterase activities. The chemotaxonomy significance of this plant was also discussed.</p></div
